the history of 'egg steak' at yut loy...

my two aunties and a cousin from kl came over earlier in the afternoon. they were craving for yut loy's. so all of us headed there after i fetched puteri from school. well i dunno of how many times i went there myself this few days. megat and i had 'roti kahwin' for breakfast on saturday after our walks. a day before that, a foreign friend dropped over on his way back to kl from penang. and ya... our hang-out place for lunch was none other than... yut loy! ivo really love the place than those high-class one. according to him, yut loy's the right place to wind down, surrounded with friendly kuale people weee...

i know i know... i have been blogging about yut loy like sooooo many times. but here's something that i think i don't see this anywhere else—

egg steak

egg steak!!!

so have you people heard or tried egg steak before? i had that during lunch today. normally i will ask for buttered toast of traditional bread, to be dipped in to the steak's gravy and voila! its very nice i tell you... i like!

initially yut loy's started to serve egg steak as per budak koleq's request wayyyyy back during the old days. i was told that they can't afford to pay for beef steak then. so someone was asking ah meng whether he can cook for them beef steak' gravy but to substitute the beef with eggs instead. what a good idea huh?!! then the price was very affordable to them... hah! i dunno how much was the cost then, now is RM7.

of why i love staying in kuale so much...

this is one of the reasons of why i love staying in my hometown so much apart of there's no bad traffic jam compared to the city—

yut loy's roti kahwin & kopi 'o' peng

ya i know... i know... i have posted so many pics of roti kahwin and kopi 'o' peng here in my blog already. go here to know more about roti kahwin. its best eaten when its still hot hmm... yummyyyyy...

i was there last thursday with megat around 4+ pm, while waiting for puteri whose at her math's tuition and my mother whose renewing dad's HD road tax at the post office. the queue was damn long so we decided to wait at yut loy instead ;) besides that was the first time we went there since raya. just imagine, how would you feel if you can't have something that you like especially food for more than 30 days. the shop closed at 6pm the latest. we didn't tapau (take-out) any cuz like i said earlier, not just for roti kahwin but almost all the food there are good to be eaten while they are hot.

so... eventually (believe it or not) both megat and i ate 5 sets (2 pieces of bread per set) of roti kahwin (RM8.00) and we drank iced milo (RM1.80) and kopi 'o' peng (RM1.20) respectively; that make up a total of RM11.00 .

as you could see, yut loy's customer are from many races not just chinese. even when we were there, the restaurant was mostly full of malays and indians. the restaurant's most hit is the 'pau'. that's what i saw most of the other customers ate that time.

now make sure you drop-by yut loy (or 'ah lok' as known by the locals) when you are in town!

kuE's note:
this post doesn't mean that i don't miss kl life ya... especially my old job in the hospitality industry warggghhhhh!!!... but to tell you the truth here is more relax :)

disclaimer: the opinions expressed here are entirely based on my personal taste buds and may vary for others. the reviewer also declares that she has not received any monetary or non-monetary compensation from the restaurant for writing this review.

the day when no one is at home

mom followed dad to kl this morning. she will be attending a cousin's engagement ceremony this weekend. at first i thought of going too, but megat has to go to school tomorrow as usual to replace the extra holidays for the upcoming chinese new year. megat goes to a chinese school, remember? ;)

so here's what we normally do on a friday-- puteri's school ends at 12.10pm, while megat's is at 1.05pm. both puteri and i rather spent the extra time together rounding around town instead of going back home and forth. then when its almost 1pm, we would normally be at none other than yut loy!!! hehe... told you people before that the school is very near with yut loy right :D and since no one at home today, we had our lunch at yut loy-- we approached one of the twin bros from the back door and ordered our food. then after we fetch megat, we walked back to yut loy (yes! you read me, that we walked there)... and voila... the food were all ready on one of the tables! simple as that...

i had chicken cutlet with two sets of buttered toast bread (thats four pieces altogether you know... hah!) and two glasses of iced nescafe. i was lapor giler (damn hungry) occay?!! ;)

while puteri and megat had chinese fried rice with egg and iced milo, hmm... yummy!!!...

so... can you all people see the stairs behind megat? fyi that's lead to a secret location that only budak koleq knows *glurp* lol... :)

the old & the new

we were having late breakfast at yut loy earlier today when we realized that we have something old and something new here in kuale.

the old...

here are some pics taken this morning at yut loy (also known as 'kedai ah lok' by locals). i also took pic of one of my fav there... 'roti kahwin'. its actually toasted bread ying yong using traditional bread (ying yong means served with margarine and kaya). i remember some time ago, i mentioned that i shall load pics of it. now i did especially for your viewing pleasure. btw go here to read more about the restaurant. well maybe i will type a special post on this (yut loy) next time, like how i did for laksa pak ngah ;)

the new...

guess what people. we found out recently that the latest shop in kuale is none other than guardian pharmacy! the shop just opened its door a few days ago. its located on the opposite side of the road, but a few blocks away from yut loy. at least there's something here huh?!! if you know what i mean lol... i.e. i dun have to wait till i go out of kuale to buy my toothpaste (pearl drops) no more, cuz previously its not available here ;)

no other story meh?

i am sure some of you people would think that i do not have any other story than yut loy! lol... well, what to do... if its among the best, its sure still the best! if you would have been realized it, we just went there last friday hehe... i remember that i had mentioned before that megat's main school is very near with yut loy.

i am still not in the good mood ever since that day actually. so i am having this miserable feeling, in fact more at home, thats why i decided to just have our lunch there at yut loy, after megat finished his school. not long after that, three of my staff joined us. they are worry about me :~)

of raising a teenage girl

i dropped off puteri at yut loy at 4 pm yesterday, to meet her boy friend aman a budak koleq, the same guy that went jalan-jalan with her and megat on the new year's eve. eventually aman and puteri are just friends, nothing serious. they fetched megat (the school is located just a few steps away from yut loy) at 5 pm then went back to yut loy while waited for me to come over.

it's not true if i say that i am not worried of puteri knowing or going out with boys. teenage girls all want freedom. having once been a teenage girl and now having my own teenage daughter, i can honestly say that nothing could be more true. i can also proudly say that my teenage daughter consider me their best friend and i am touched with such an honor. teenage daughters want privacy and life without restrictions. we as parents must be able to reason with them. no i am not saying give them what they want. just enough to let them understand we are listening. i believe that teenage girls should have male phone calls at 14 years of age without the dates. at the age of 15 they should be able to go on dates as long as we drop them off and pick them up. preferably the movies, bowling or skating. at age 16 they can go to parties as long as there is a parent present.

it is not easy raising a teenage daughter. young ladies have so many emotions and worries along with puberty and hormone issues. you must listen too there needs in life as well as advise them to become respectable young adults. teenage girls worry about if a boys are going to like them or if that pimple going to get any bigger. we as parents must remember that we were once teenagers as well. so we must put that into prospective when it comes to raising a teenage girl.

most teenage girls are not looking for a friend in a parent. this is the time that our attention is needed the most. we as parents need to be able to understand their mood swings. there is always a situation that needs to be resolved, and it is easily expressed by a sudden unexpected mood swing that teenage girls face. they have so many peer pressures that they face on almost a daily basis.

project 365: 4th week—

project 365 — 4th week

day 22 — this was the first pic for this project, taken out of kualè. we were walking out of kwong fatt, in ipoh, a famous fabrics shop among ipoh people and the surrounded areas; when we saw an old shop in front of it. it looked interesting that we decided to go and drop-by there. it sells ready-made clothes a-la sunday market. whats more interesting when we saw an antique cash register machine. according to the shop lady, they owned the machine for about 50 years or more.

day 23 — all of us went to cousin cicik’s akad nikah (solemnisation), held after maghrib prayers. i make sure that we attended it especially megat as cicik helped me to take care of him when he was a baby. she’s very good at it, even her mom was unsure of where and how she inherit those expertise. anyhow she is now working at a local spa centre here in kualè.

day 24 — the next afternoon was cicik’s kenduri— check-out the antique plates. ning baizura was so proud that she used them during her wedding, remember? blerk!… my parent’s wedding used them also. bah told me that it only cost at RM0.20 each those days *glurp* but the best thing at cicik's wedding was, we were served with spread of food and wedding favour from medan... marvelous! for those who wonders, she is ijoe's youngest sista!

day 25 — which one you wanna go? there were so many weddings last weekend; correct me if i am wrong. you can see quite a number of wedding signs placed at junctions everywhere.

day 26 — i just had chicken chop for lunch at yut loy with puteri and bah. so this pic has been snapped while i was waiting for my food. the baby pic you saw in the pic is ah meng’s grand daughter, a latest generation of yut loy hehee…

day 27 — we arrived kl at around 3 pm to spend the rest of the school holidays that will be ended this sunday. my lil’ sis treated us for a dinner at TGIF in sunway pyramid. that’s my favourite strawberry milkshake. i only like the one from TGIF as it’s the best of all!… the thickness, the taste, in fact everything are perfecto! so what’s your favourite from TGIF.

day 28 — it was a ‘jalan-jalan’ day at KLCC. well actually cousin abang ayi had a whole day conference there. he had to bring his son daniel and asked megat to tag along. i brought them around the mall while waiting for the time they were supposed to go to petrosains. and what a lucky day for us when we met my uncle ayah jed and his grandson anaqi in kinokuniya. so we had our lunch at 1901 together, courtesy of ayah jed weee... thank you so much for the lunch treat ayah jed! puteri was there too but she hang-out with her friends :~)

welcome 2008...

this is the day children from all over the country started their school days for the year 2008.

we went out of the house about 6.50am. there were some traffic jams when we were heading to sekolah atas bukit, as expected. wa lau ley... some people still send their children to school right up to the front (i mean... they would parked the car, and go down personally with their children in to the school'
compound) even though the children are big enough to do everything her/himself. i saw that situation at puteri's school, when some parents (both father and mother occay?!!), came out from the school' gate :P don't tell me they wanna pay for the children's school fees. even megat can do it himself already. fyi megat now is in year three, while puteri is in form two.

anyhow for megat, i did send him to the classroom, since this is his first day in year three. on the other hand, starting this year, his school is located in town thats specially for year three to year six children. take note that the one near malay college is only for year one and two. while there, we discussed of where i shall drop him and wait for him every day at school from now onwards. oh... forgot to mention to you people that the school also is only few blocks away from none other than yut loy! thats even on the same row, of the main road in town occay?!! hehee... now we shall expect that i will drop-by yut loy more often :) hmm... senang ler nak order pau ek? lol...

owh... how time flies so fast... megat is such a big boy himself now. megat was busy talking with his friends when i interrupted him, saying that i wanted to go home. "okay... bye ma!", megat said while waving his right hand to me. "oik! no more salam and kissing your mama?", i asked him. megat just smiled. i know that he was shy, kissing his mom infront of his friends. but when he realized that i was a bit dissappointed, he came to me whose standing at the classroom door, then salam and kissed me.

oh yes... as you could see from the pics, megat's school is one of the oldest schools in kuale, besides rpk (sekolah atas bukit), koleq and clifford. so don't be surprised to see an old building there. nonetheless, the classroom is already equipped with projector set with slides, hang on top of the blackboard. yes... blackboard! i know i know... some of the new schools these days don't use blackboard no more but they use whiteboard instead.

guess what people... some parents were looking at me one kind only... ya lor... no other parents especially mothers snapped pics of their children at school like i did this morning hehe... let it be! they dunno that megat's mother is a blogger and like what i mentioned many times before, we bloggers NEVER leave home without a camera!!! bwahahahaaa... :D

heading to a healthy-lifestyle

seeing at the above pic and quote, i'm sure you would wondering of what both of them got to do with each other huh?!! lol...

sungai perak is one of my favourite place to wind down; other than island and beaches. if you have the time, you are truly welcomed to experience it too. the feeling is so good that no one could describe it. come visit me people! 2007 is the visit malaysia year.

we went strolling by the riverside this morning as early as 7am. we should have went there much earlier. but you know lar... it was a bit hard to ask the kids to wake-up that early during weekends lol... anyhow we did have cereal for breakfast before we went out. i could see many people were doing the same, mostly malays and chinese. my oh my... i dun see any indians. why, huh?!! fyi with effective this year, this is what i am intend to do with my kids. i could also say that its one of my new year resolutions—to lead to a healthy-lifestyle. i met some of the people that i know there including Mr T. i find that he likes to exercise during most of his past-time. around 7.30am, there were a group of people already filled the laman budaya. from what i understood, there will be some free aerobic session on every sunday morning. i joined them from far ;) it was rather interesting though. what when they included the pocho-pocho dance at the ending part. well Mr T was surprised to see that i knew how to do the pocho-pocho hehe... see the legs lar lol...

we dropped-by at yut loy on our way back. i knew kids were tired including me. all three of us had iced milo with roti kahwin—toasted bread ying yong using traditional bread (ying yong means served with margarine and kaya). gosh... i should have taken some pics of the roti kahwin ;) nevermind... one fine day ya...

kadang-kadang, orang yang paling kita sayanglah... yang paling susah untuk kita sayangi (sometimes, the people that we loved so much, are the people that's so difficult for us to love).

now about the above quote, it was from the movie cinta (love). at first i didn't realize it when i watched the movie last time. i only did after i bought the audio-cd of the movie last week. fatimah abu bakar was the one who said it. nice. i like. its so meanigful too.

kuE's note: i snapped the above pic this morning, edited using fd's Flickr Toys.

pukul tiga pagi...

(while reminiscing to that p ramlee's song)

gosh!... am sure some of you may figure of what am i doing here in these wee hours of the morning hehe... so people/bloggers... don't be stunned if you see me leaving trails in your comment box or email at this hours!

i knocked off very early maybe as soon as i got home from work around 9 (pm, k?). by about 1/2 an hour ago, i have already awoke and was damn starving. so off i went to the toilet, then checked out of what we have in the kitchen. lastly yut loy's mee hailam caught my eyes. i was the one who bought it with some paus earlier during the day, when my sis was craving to eat there. i guess mom was the one who kept them in the fridge. i heat it... and here i am now eating mee hailam infront of the pc, browsing thru the net, while listening to "pukul tiga pagi", at tiga pagi (3am) :~)

kuE's note:
sorry no pic (of the mee). hey... i am not that bad occay? lol...

the wedding in kuale on 23/12/06

caution: this post would be rather long with detailed descriptions ;)

like i mentioned in my previous post, the wedding reception (majlis kenduri menyambut menantu) here in kuale for my lil' brother and his bride went smoothly, with great weather.

before i went out to town in the morning, i told everyone to meet for our last committee meeting at home around 2 or 3pm. unfortunately the president was still in town doing her (me lor... tehee...) hair. everyone was busy preparing for some last minute thing while i was still at the saloon. well at least i called home to inform them okay. so we met at 3.30pm instead. my lil' brother, the groom who do not have to do anything also joined us lol... after the meeting finished before 5pm, i filled my stomach first. ya lor... we were the host, so we have to eat before anyone else right? so mind the first pic will you ;)

after that i straight away went upstairs to get ready early as promised. i was ready maybe around 6pm. even my best friend kay also came in on time. when kay was here already, we took some pics around the house first including the bunga telur (gifts) and dining table. fyi almost every single thing i.e. wedding dais (pelamin), bunga telur (gifts), wedding favour, wedding cupcakes (instead of the normal wedding cakes), the bridal room etc.; were done together by all the family members. btw kay and i just thought that if we didn't take the pics earlier, sure kecoh later. we even asked puteri to snap our pics together on the wedding dais. when we still have time, i let kay to eat first too. she has to help us, that's why she can't join other guest at the dining table tehee... naughty me lol... :P

guest came as early as 7pm. maybe they afraid for not getting an easy parking. anyhow luckily we have some RELA people with the assitance of PDRM's police traffic men to help us with the traffic flow. i stood right at the main road to our house to greet our guest. around 8pm, my lil' brother called me (yes, i was still holding my cell-fon i tell you; as i know everyone would be calling me to report whatvever things happened around us. gosh... we should have use the walkie-talkie kan? lol...) that they will be coming. the bride and groom came in zaf's car followed by the bride's entourage about seven cars i think. unfortunately when they arrived, we can't start the merenjis (blessing) ceremony as the VVIPs haven't here yet. he (one of the VVIPs) sms dad that the traffic from ipoh was very bad. ya lor... most of ipoh people came that night lol...

so we started the merenjis as soon as the VVIPs arrived. great... they came together in one car. when i was busy mingling with other guest out-door when suddenly my cousin abang ayi called me said that my mother was looking for me. wa lau ley... i thought what ler... i was asked to do the merenjis too together with my two sisters and zaf. it seems zaf was happily smiling all the way when he did his part tehee...

as usual, the bride and groom were ushered to the main dining table after the merenjis, followed by the VVIPs and the bride's entourage. while everyone were eating, i walked around everywhere to mingle with more guest. i saw many group of family, relatives and friends were there i.e. the groom's koleq friends, my dad's koleq's and clifford's friends, my friends etc. there were also quite a number of locals like one of the twins of yut loy's with his wife, bankers, our tailors, people from the local market etc. we were entertained by my dad's friend from the clifford primary school, uncle sabri. he sang while played with his electric guitar.

after some time, uncle sabri announced that it was time for the 'wedding cupcakes eating ceremony'. oik... my cousin (dr.) sarah whose the bridesmaid together with her husband, the best man (a budak koleq too, same batch with the groom) went MIA. i guess maybe the best man was with his koleq's friends. luckily i was near them (the bride and groom), so i was the one who ushered them to the wedding cupcakes table. wah... they became stiffed, dunno what to do. ya lor... they deserved the best treatment for that day, because local call it “raja sehari”. meaning, they were the “king and queen for the day”, one day only! so i asked them to take one each of the cake and feed each other.

to everyone surprised, there after uncle sabri asked the bride and groom to joget (a type of a traditional dance). i was like err... then i looked up. my sister was there with uncle sabri at the verandah. she asked me to proceed. gosh... so i brought the bride and groom infront of the main table. my lil' brother was like whispering to me, "chor, no need lar... no need lor...". "what to do. since uncle sabri already announced it, alar just hantam saje lar", i told them. shafinaz was tremendously shy of course. i told them this before i slowly left them together, "okay shafinaz, you start". luckily she was a traditional dancer during her school days. so she started it and followed by the groom. everyone was clapping all the way too. everyone who brought cameras took the chance to take pics including me!

after the joget, although i knew they were tired; i made them meet and greet all the guest. ye lor... bila lagi nak buli pengantin kan lol... before the bride's entourage left, we took family pics together for memories. it was definitely a night to remember.

kuE's note: all the pics were taken with my nokia 6680 unless otherwise stated. our cousin zaido was the photographer for that night as syahrin got some other wedding function in johor. if not, i am sure he would do for us too. people already booked him much more earlier lor.

megat's haircut

we visited the barber yesterday--

and witnessed the transformation of the new megat!!! ;)

we were at yut loy earlier soon after picked up megat from his scouts activity. i was kinda surprised though when megat agreed to my suggestion to cut his hair at number 2 (the barber usually used razor blade number 2 for a 'crook cut' type hair)! i guess the last time megat had that type of hair when he was in the kindergarten.

our visit to the barber this time saw uncle rajendran alone without his older brother (pic here) who died because of high attack on 9 may 2008. they run the business together since 1975. go here and here to know more about them. anyhow uncle rajendran is lucky that an indian friend from penang came to give a helping hand.

PADA HARI YANG INDAH

this drama, has been screened on tv3 last tuesday, 9pm specially for merdeka. its about a malay family who always make sure that his children gathered at their hometown in kuala kangsar (ehem...) during the country's national day. this year the father was lucky that he got the chance to meet his childhood friends ah meng and raju. there were also some flash back of their life during malaysia's independence day in 1957.

most kampung (village) scenes were shot in kuale itself i.e. with places like our home (hehe...), yut loy, my school etc. people of kuale were kinda proud of it. ya... just imagine people, of all the places in malaysia, why on earth umno (yes! if you look at it properly, the whole idea of the drama was by umno) chose kuale.

rizal sms me that night, when we were watching the drama.
it seems that he missed kuale so much, what when some of the shots were done here at home ;)

while to kay, i am so sorry sis. i forgot to tell you earlier about this. luckily you tuned in to tv3 that night ek? lol... in her sms, kay told me that she was so excited when suddenly she realized that it was actually our home in the drama :P

hello... hello...

megat's school already started their sports practice today, with the blue house on monday. i waited for him inside the school gate around 5.20pm with an umbrella in my hand. yes it was drizzling... also my oly in the other hand. and while still waiting there, i thought why not i snap a pic of my view there, as its kinda nice. besides that i wanna show you people yut loy's location, thats so near to megat's school -- ref to the pic, its the one that the first shop house of the other block. you could see an old type of shop house' window, its right in the middle of the pic ;)

in fact we went there to have our tea time. as soon as we ordered our food, megat asked about kechik. oik! like as though he knows that we were just sms-ing with each other earlier, before i drove there. kechik, fyi megat was the one who wish to talk to you beb...

"hello"

"this is not kuE, ini cik lan*!"

hmm... entah apa diaorang sembang...

bior ler depa... i am damn hungry and wanna eat my roti kahwin... yummy!!!

*kuE's note: one day i will blog about of why the name cik lan. i wonder whether kechik still remember hehe... :)

translate them boy...

i have been wanted to blog since morning but only He knows of how busy i am... hence now only i have some time to breath *phew*

its the second day of schools today. i am sure megat will bring more homeworks later... in fact he brought two homeworks yesterday, even it was the first day of schools. its well known that school children in chinese school in the country intense to get more homework than national school. i know some malay parents (of those who send their children to chinese school) got so many says on this but for me... no hal! at least megat would do something good at home during his past time. well if you people don't like that then don't lar send your children to chinese school kan? we could see nazmi, megat's malay friend from kindy since 2003... all his bro and sis (five of them including nazmi) study in chinese school, now the eldest is in form three. the thing is if we can't do it the hard way, then forget it! if you wanna the best for your children and you think you can get it at chinese school, then face it!

megat came back from school yesterday with so many stories. even during lunch time, he told us so many things. he's excited! yes... especially when he starts going to the main school, the one in town from this year. from what i understand from megat, the children at the main school there get to have malay bahasa melayu language teachers, not like the previous one where chinese teachers teach all subjects except agama, where an ustazah from the main school will go there when they have agama classes. a malay guy teacher came to megat's class during the bahasa melayu subject. according to megat, he got problems to communicate with chinese children. luckily megat and nazmi were there, so both of them helped him to translate to their chinese classmates, of what the teacher wanna say lol... funny or not? teheeheee...

mama is so glad of you boy! ;)

kuE's note:
pic showed this morning when megat was walking in to the main school. take note that the side entrance is just behind yut loy! ;)

hong kong hair & beauty saloon

puteri and i just came back from doing our hair at a local saloon called hong kong hair & beauty saloon. puteri had her wash and blow-dry service at RM9.00, while i colour my hair for RM80.00 only. go here to view my current hair length. believe it or not, mind you people... i ain't kidding occay?... thats why some locals who work elsewhere would take the chance to do their hair here when they come back to hometown for holidays or sort.

its one of the oldest shop in kuale, other than... yut loy!!! the shop is managed by three sisters who are still available ehem... but they are old enough to be called auntie ;) they would always do the hair and make-up for the royal family when there are special functions at the palace. the three sisters do not have any helpers. so i am not sure whether they would close the shop when they have to attend to the royals. i guess i should have ask them about this someday right.

their customers are from all over and race i.e. malays, chinese, indians, not forgetting others like thais, myanmars etc. who mainly are workers at some of the local factories here. guess what people... some of the customers do not mind to wait for hours for their turn especially during peak periods. like this mother and daughter (puteri and i [can you spot me? hehe...] ler... lol), they came at 11+ am and left the shop around 3.30pm *glurp*

as you could see from the pic, the shop has been decorated with chinese new year deco. and its a norm also that the three sisters would wear something reddish during the CNY fever. when i realized this at the shop, i was like, "eh... i should have start to get my staff to help me decorate our premise too!". hehe... well for me its not wrong for us to decorate our premise for the CNY season; as we are malaysians, and also, chinese are among part of our customers. besides, we do decorate our premise during other holiday seasons too like hari raya aidil fitri, deepavali, national day and many more. alright... enough said, i won't place any pics of our premise when we have complete decorating it--dangerous woh!... ;)

project 365: 2nd week—

project 365 — 2nd week

day 8 — you can basically get online from anytime and anywhere these days. here we were at a local KFC while waiting for megat at one of his taekwondo classes held twice a week.

day 9 — megat looked happy on a friday morning, getting ready to go to school. his po-po would give them RM1 each on this days.

day 10 — like i mentioned earlier, i was in school for our OGA’s AGM during the day. so i chose this picture as the picture of the day (pic taken by the event‘s emcee) — i joined my line dance group for a “mother’s day dance party”. it was indeed my first time joining such event. i could say that it was well organized. we really enjoyed ourselves at the party. ms tung and i went back at around 11.30pm, but i heard that the party finished past midnight.

day 11 — here’s part of my line dance group (taken by megat). we joined an aerobic exercises organized by MPKK this morning, lead by fana’ aerobics. it was eventually screened live on tv1’s selamat pagi malaysia programmed around 7.40 am. i wonder whether any of you people saw me weee… :) FYI the whole SPM programmed has been telecast live in kuale— wonder whether its all because of the propaganda in the state recently, eee… malu nye… :(

day 12 — fruits from our very own homeland— papaya and quinine; both fell on the same day. other fruits that we have here are rambutans and avocados J

day 13 — budak koleq should know of where was this place. ya… its yut loy! i had lunch there with mama. kak roza, wan chor and auntie tut were still in ipoh so we ordered first as were already hungry like hell hehee… check-out the stairs people. i could say that its so unique as it has a wooden stairs gate up the stairs. can you see? you can’t find this features in modern homes.

day 14 — this was the view of my former secondary school from my car seat. wednesday supposed to be a co-curriculum day but since it’s the exam week, puteri went back early at 2pm instead because she do not have to attend the activities. i went straight to puteri’s school after send megat’s pack lunch.

project 365: 8th week—

project 365 — 8th week

day 50 — i went to puteri’s school to meet the teachers and discussed about her achievements. i was waiting for my turn, then as usual i took out my oly to snap a pic for my project 365! :) i find that some people do not even bother to attend this day. for me, no matter our kids are good or not in their studies, we as the parents should make sure that we do our responsibilities. show them that we care!

day 51 — the next day was megat’s turn! here we were at yut loy, having some morning break while waiting for the time to fetch puteri in school hehee…

day 52 — i got megat to snap this pic for me. i wanted to show-off my first handmade backpack! that’s mine of course! i sew it according to my likes as per megat. he is 100% correct. that’s one best thing about handmade item; where you can do as whatever you wished, and it will be one-of-a-kind! i used black and white butterfly cotton from ikea. i simply lurve this fabric. i did patchwork for the front part, and added two butterfly appliquè that i cut from the same fabric. so if you like this, then you should visit my kualè girl designs page on facebook to view more of my collections :)

day 53 — help save lives with just one signature! i found this form in the sunday star paper. and because i care about the environment and nature, i quickly filled in the form and seal it to be posted the next time i went out to town—no stamps needed anyway, as it’s a paid postage. its to show my support for laws that will ban the sale and consumption of all turtle eggs throughout the country. go here to do this online.

day 54 — don’t wait! remember the tv and radio ads, that reminding publics to see the doctor whenever they don’t feel good. that’s what we did that day. megat was not feeling well, so off we went to the clinic as soon as he finished his mandarin tuition class. thank god its only minor thingy… *phew*

day 55 — another side of masjid (mosque) ubudiah. pic was a bit blur, not because it has been taken by puteri. i forgot to bring my oly, so i had to use my n76 instead… blerk! we were waiting in the car, for mama who was meeting the mosque’ imam.

day 56 — another pic while waiting. this one was at the junction going in to the d.o.’s bungalow. form 3 students had to attend klinik pmr this week, thus puteri also has to go back around 5+ pm huhuu…

christmas day

what i could tell everyone is that i'm lonely today, being all alone. dad and mom went to kl this morning. they have an appointment to meet shafinaz's (my brother's gf) parents for tea, to discuss about the marriage. both kids followed them. they also will be there until wednesday with my mom.

well like what i typed yesterday, christmas here and in kl are totally different. if i'm in kl by now, i'm sure i'll be joining all my friends for christmas party everywhere.

its quite a tough day anyway. i have to be on stand-by no matter what since the cashier' pos system hang the other day. it effected mine at the back office too. gosh... we are one of those who use the most canggih system. yet if the thing not function properly, everything gone. terrible.

hmmm... what else. as usual once i'm alone i would normally by take-out food. no own cook nothing lol. i just tapau-ed chinese fried rice and mee hailam from the ah lok' coffee shop or yut loy (budak koleq should know this place). they have the best pau ever. most people said that tanjung malim has the best one but i doubt saying that its not true. ok... i ate my food so late around 5pm. yeah... i finished it both all! this would keep my stomach until night ~ i didn't eat anything for dinner mannn... i've already damn full by then ;)

as usual also, i lepax at home lazily infront of the tv, changing channels dunno what to watch lol. maybe the one on tv3 at noon was nice - jaclyn victor in shanghai, asia music festival. i watched that until tears dropped from my eyes. tears of joy maybe. besides that i spend times by reading all the weekend papers excluding the tamil and chinese one of course hehe... there were few articles that catched my interest especially those in sunday mail where zainal alam kadir wrote about tsunami tragedy that happened exactly a year ago. not long after the tragedy he went or a holiday to bali. it seems that indonesia created one tv channel specially for the tragedy i.e. you could find anything related to the tsunami tragedy there. they even have a theme song for tsunami. other article that is in my sunday 'must read' list is "i say... by rina omar". hah... guess what. V knows rina. but i'm not sure about me as i can't recall much. this time she wrote about her christmas wish list which is damn logical for the nation, youth especially to be aware of. what else? hmm... o yea... i also won't miss to read dcck in pancaindera, utusan malaysia. thats just for me to read some other people's experiences in life ;)
