eventually they never say NO to any 'makan-makan' invites...

this is a story about the difference between the current and past students of the koleq (mckk) boys. yes i know they loveeeeeeeeee food, and who doesn't right; but here's a something~

remembers peeps, the recent eid adha was during the spm exams. the school didn't allow any of the form 5 students to go back for the holidays. so puteri invited them to come to our house after the raya prayers. none of them came. it seems that they were... s-h-y(?!!!) *glurp*

when mama told this to my lil bro (batch '93, who is well known as boon since his koleq days) recently, he said: "EEEEE... malu². budak koleq never deny to any makan² invites!" hiks!

yes true. we have experienced them all, especially at my grandma's place here. from papa's younger years in koleq until my lil' bro, they always brought their koleq friends home. even when they wanted to take their spm results (my lil' bro time), they were quite a number of them overnight here. they slept everywhere i tell you! yes everywhere. no need ler for me to tell about this in details, just go and figure ler... and from what i know, when they were here... its always like home sweet home :)

i've been tracked!

gosh... yes, they tracked me! i was so damn surprised this morning after i found out that my post on bebudak koleq tu is now featured in their "blogs on koleq" (check-out the koleq colour guys) page. anyhow i didn't talk bad about you all lar guys... my generations all studied there i.e. my late great-grandpa, my late grandpa, my dad, my bro, my cousin, uncle etc. so no harm kan... sometimes i always like to remember the good ol' school days where my school is one of the three famous schools here other than koleq and kelipot *smile*. guess what my mom was studying in the same school with me, married a budak koleq! my auntie too! even my cousin also. her hubby was in the same badge with my brother.

fyi my dad received an invitation card from his hockey teacher. o yea... my dad was the best hockey player then. the teacher is celebrating his 70th birthday at the pan pacific glenmarie on the 29th or 30th if i'm not mistaken. according to my mom, the teacher requested my dad to sing cliff richard songs for that special day. wohoo... way to go dad...

the wedding in kuale on 23/12/06

caution: this post would be rather long with detailed descriptions ;)

like i mentioned in my previous post, the wedding reception (majlis kenduri menyambut menantu) here in kuale for my lil' brother and his bride went smoothly, with great weather.

before i went out to town in the morning, i told everyone to meet for our last committee meeting at home around 2 or 3pm. unfortunately the president was still in town doing her (me lor... tehee...) hair. everyone was busy preparing for some last minute thing while i was still at the saloon. well at least i called home to inform them okay. so we met at 3.30pm instead. my lil' brother, the groom who do not have to do anything also joined us lol... after the meeting finished before 5pm, i filled my stomach first. ya lor... we were the host, so we have to eat before anyone else right? so mind the first pic will you ;)

after that i straight away went upstairs to get ready early as promised. i was ready maybe around 6pm. even my best friend kay also came in on time. when kay was here already, we took some pics around the house first including the bunga telur (gifts) and dining table. fyi almost every single thing i.e. wedding dais (pelamin), bunga telur (gifts), wedding favour, wedding cupcakes (instead of the normal wedding cakes), the bridal room etc.; were done together by all the family members. btw kay and i just thought that if we didn't take the pics earlier, sure kecoh later. we even asked puteri to snap our pics together on the wedding dais. when we still have time, i let kay to eat first too. she has to help us, that's why she can't join other guest at the dining table tehee... naughty me lol... :P

guest came as early as 7pm. maybe they afraid for not getting an easy parking. anyhow luckily we have some RELA people with the assitance of PDRM's police traffic men to help us with the traffic flow. i stood right at the main road to our house to greet our guest. around 8pm, my lil' brother called me (yes, i was still holding my cell-fon i tell you; as i know everyone would be calling me to report whatvever things happened around us. gosh... we should have use the walkie-talkie kan? lol...) that they will be coming. the bride and groom came in zaf's car followed by the bride's entourage about seven cars i think. unfortunately when they arrived, we can't start the merenjis (blessing) ceremony as the VVIPs haven't here yet. he (one of the VVIPs) sms dad that the traffic from ipoh was very bad. ya lor... most of ipoh people came that night lol...

so we started the merenjis as soon as the VVIPs arrived. great... they came together in one car. when i was busy mingling with other guest out-door when suddenly my cousin abang ayi called me said that my mother was looking for me. wa lau ley... i thought what ler... i was asked to do the merenjis too together with my two sisters and zaf. it seems zaf was happily smiling all the way when he did his part tehee...

as usual, the bride and groom were ushered to the main dining table after the merenjis, followed by the VVIPs and the bride's entourage. while everyone were eating, i walked around everywhere to mingle with more guest. i saw many group of family, relatives and friends were there i.e. the groom's koleq friends, my dad's koleq's and clifford's friends, my friends etc. there were also quite a number of locals like one of the twins of yut loy's with his wife, bankers, our tailors, people from the local market etc. we were entertained by my dad's friend from the clifford primary school, uncle sabri. he sang while played with his electric guitar.

after some time, uncle sabri announced that it was time for the 'wedding cupcakes eating ceremony'. oik... my cousin (dr.) sarah whose the bridesmaid together with her husband, the best man (a budak koleq too, same batch with the groom) went MIA. i guess maybe the best man was with his koleq's friends. luckily i was near them (the bride and groom), so i was the one who ushered them to the wedding cupcakes table. wah... they became stiffed, dunno what to do. ya lor... they deserved the best treatment for that day, because local call it “raja sehari”. meaning, they were the “king and queen for the day”, one day only! so i asked them to take one each of the cake and feed each other.

to everyone surprised, there after uncle sabri asked the bride and groom to joget (a type of a traditional dance). i was like err... then i looked up. my sister was there with uncle sabri at the verandah. she asked me to proceed. gosh... so i brought the bride and groom infront of the main table. my lil' brother was like whispering to me, "chor, no need lar... no need lor...". "what to do. since uncle sabri already announced it, alar just hantam saje lar", i told them. shafinaz was tremendously shy of course. i told them this before i slowly left them together, "okay shafinaz, you start". luckily she was a traditional dancer during her school days. so she started it and followed by the groom. everyone was clapping all the way too. everyone who brought cameras took the chance to take pics including me!

after the joget, although i knew they were tired; i made them meet and greet all the guest. ye lor... bila lagi nak buli pengantin kan lol... before the bride's entourage left, we took family pics together for memories. it was definitely a night to remember.

kuE's note: all the pics were taken with my nokia 6680 unless otherwise stated. our cousin zaido was the photographer for that night as syahrin got some other wedding function in johor. if not, i am sure he would do for us too. people already booked him much more earlier lor.

project 365: 7th week—

project 365 — 7th week

day 43 — a pro in the making? puteri was so happy when her gong gong gave her his old DSLR camera. yes, an old one— the one that use film roll; in fact i can’t wait to see the results of the photographs that she snapped hehee… ;)

day 44 — this pic has been taken at approximately 7.18 am, just after i send-off puteri to school. the white building was the school’s hall. so if you know this road going down the resident‘s hill towards the jam besor (clock tower), i bet you could imagine of how bad the traffic was when we were late in the morning… not bad huh?!! what to do… so i entertained myself by listening to “you are not alone” by MJ via hitz.fm . he passed away that morning at about 5.21 am local time. i dunno about other stations, but hitz.fm spinned his songs for the whole solid day! *glurp* well people from young to old know him very well. may mikhail rest in peace… amin.

day 45 — kidz went to school on last saturday, to replace the upcoming raya holidays. the first day was few months ago. on the same day as well, an auntie married to my uncle here in kualè. yes, both of the newly wed are related to me J but anyhow ayah jap asked us to join their side instead. nevertheless since their parents passed away few years ago, they really need our help; especially bah who eventually knows about most of the adat resam of malay weddings very well. ayah jap is the bride’s big bro. he’s the one in pic who was trying to learn of how to tie a sampin, from my dad hehee… my father was the one with sampin koleq, of course weee…

day 46 — masjid (mosque) ubudiah at night.

day 47 — food recycle(?). pic showed me preparing some chicken sandwiches for the kids recess’ meals. the chicken was actually of some left over’s from the day before’ KFC take-out orders. see… we don’t just recycle plastics, papers and such; we do recycle food as well :) i always remind my kids of the importance of not wasting any good quality items. you must think of those who are not as lucky as us… amin.

day 48 — transformers fever is back!!! that bumblebee toy was for megat. but of course he paid me back RM15.90 *glurp* the thing is i am not buying him anymore toys at this age. so that means he has to find his own good way if he wish to get any. do i have to elaborate more on this? nah… i tell you what… i know that we still have my lil’ bro’s big box of transformers toys that my dad bought him about more than 20 years ago. i am very sure that its somewhere in the store. i WILL show it to the world as soon as i have the time to get it out from there! we still remember that the last time my lil’ bro played the toys with his koleq friends. they were here during one weekends in form one! hehee…

day 49 — any of you people are up for checkers and/(or) chess? gotcha!… this ain’t the normal checkers or chess board okay. its black and white fabric patchworks that i am in the mid of sewing right now. make sure you people get the updates on kualè girl page soon! :)

sekolah atas bukit

i am sure some of you people may wonder of why this lady still blogging at this hour huh?!! bloggaholic is one thing. well actually i slept very much earlier around 8pm—too tired i guess ;) then i woke-up again in the middle of the night. i thought to myself that i should up-date my blog. weird? nah... i have used to it. i will get back to sleep as soon as i complete this anyway.

everyone still enjoying the last day of school holidays, also last day of the long-weekend holidays. for me, i have already started to start my day at 4.50am. but normally i rewarded myself for an extra sleep during the school holidays though ;)

puteri is in form 1 this year. she goes to the same school like her mother—smk raja perempuan kelsom also known as sekolah atas bukit (school on the hill) by locals. like koleq (yes, budak koleq should know this school better. not forgetting the cliffordian too ehem...), our generations studied at rpk except one of my sister. in fact, we (puteri and i) were there this morning. puteri attended the orientation session with the other girls, while parents were in the hall for some briefing by the school. guess what, some of my teachers are still there. even the present hm, cik hajjah nazipah who started since few months ago, was also my discipline teacher. i know there's also en mohamad, my maths teacher whom we called 'walking plywood-board' last time tehee...

the school really provides a lot of memories for me. not just that, it also was the residence of jww birch who was the first british resident in perak, resides here in kuale. maybe some day i'll post more about the history of my school. i studied there from 1985 to 1989. just hope that if any of my school friends read this (other than kay of course), please contact me here or here.

during the makan-makan this morning, i didn't join the other parents. but i walked-around the school compound alone instead. i almost cry you know huhu...

weekend in kualer...

yes, we spend our weekends in kualer this time.

on friday...

puteri showed me a paper from school. she has been selected as one of the 15 students to join a free
upsr workshop organized by a 'someone/organization'. this workshop will be held on every sunday until end of august, including school holidays. hmm... its definitely a no-time-for-play girl.

on saturday...

i brought my puteri and megat to the water sports festival along the sungai (river) perak. that was one of the 'must' yearly events held during the sultan's birthday. unfortunately the sultan was not around that day. his place has been replaced by his son, the
raja muda dytm raja dato' seri nazrin shah, along with raja di hilir, raja kecil besar and raja kecil tengah.

as usual almost all the rakyat (people) of perak were there to meet their beloved raja-raja.

one of the 'must' sport that day was the
perahu rowing contest between the 'oxford and cambridge of kualer'- clifford school and mckk. clifford won, as expected ;)

kuE's up-date on 26/04/06: no wonder koleq always lose, check out about this here hehe...

btw here are some pics-

a view from far

can you spot the team in black? that's koleq's.

it was already almost 6.45pm when we left the place. puteri and megat look so damn tired, including me. so we headed to the new kopitiam in town before we went straight back home. kinda' nice place tho' ;)

my point of view from inside the new kopitiam

on sunday...

first sunday of puteri's upsr workshop. can't lepakking no more lol. anyhow, of course i'll find time for friends and leisure.

surprisingly out of the blue moon, my god-father whose also winnie's dad, dropped-by just to say hi ;)

silence

all home alone last night. parents went to kl for the mcoba royal gala 2005 (annual dinner). so megat followed them too. but then mom and megat will stay in kl until next week where puteri also will be coming back with them. puteri's extra class starts on next monday, 5 december 2005.

i was so happy and makes me keep moving on when david called me yesterday morning. but i was having my shower that time. i checked my "missed call" list. then i called him back. well, bank opened 1/2 day so we cannot talked long :(

hmm... luckily hari raya mood is still on. i went to the sambutan hari raya aidil fitri bersama polis daerah at ocpd's house yesterday afternoon. very good response there. once i arrived, one of the police officers usher me to the VIP tables and asked me to have my meals there. i was like... o ok... my grand uncle, tok mansor and his wife were there too. i also met bankers and some other business people that i know. but it was strange that i never see any of my competitors face hehe... anyhow the food... wow... so damn great that i don't have to eat dinner hahah... before i left i met with the ocpd tuan zakaria who was in light brown baju melayu with sampin koleq (i remembered that before i go there, when i wanna say goodbye to dad, he told me that tuan zakaria was budak koleq too) and some of his officers tuan hasbullah, tuan nazri etc. if can, i would have snap some pics of tuan zakaria lol. but shy lor...

V sms me yesterday asking about my problem. its not that easy lar kawan. thank you for asking anyway. he also went around for hari raya open houses, juz like me ;)

since no one at home, as usual i glued on the tv box for hours. i was watching fashion luminaire on astro prima this morning. during ads, it was mentioning something that makes me interested to go. that's the penang island jazz festival. uhh... how i love jazz so much. i wanna go... but who shall i ask.

o yea... before i forgot i wanna tell something that make me shocked hehe... not that really shocked lar... its about my friend nizam that i met during our meeting last thursday. he was 1/2 an hour late. ok that’s fine. he asked me to take down the minutes as the secretary-in-charge has an appointment with her doctor. that’s fine too. suddenly when he wanted to use his fon, my eyes was like... arr... then i thought in my mind, "oh... my god". his new fon is exactly like my new one,
nokia 6680! hehe... wonder whether he realize it or not. well ok, that’s one thing. then when the meeting almost over, nizam was looking for extra cups. maybe he was kinda thirsty cuz he talked so much also. when he can't find any, he juz took mine. so i told him, "ehh... tu teman punya lar...". "tak pe... bukannya mati pun", he replied. then he immediately poured some tea in the cup. i wondered if other people realized that. i knew shaidi was looking at me and smiled ;)

friends

after shower last nite, i send a sms to my friend V reminding him to bring back some ole-ole from bali. if i'm not mistaken he went there on thursday. i got his reply almost half past midnite. it seems that he has one bag full of souvenirs for me with all his travelling lol. he said that i was awfully quiet after the other day :0) hehe... i know that you are busy lar kawan, thats why i don't wanna disturb you. well i guess V is one of the closest friend of mine now.

i use to have a damn close group friends consist of four to five of us. sadly to say that we do not keep in touch anymore, few years after we left school. well maybe one is so near to me now (she's in ipoh), but its so hard to get in touch with her. its worst after she married few years ago. pheww... i was the busiest one during her wedding day but in the end i dunno whether she's too busy or can't even spare some time for "friends". i heard from a friend the other day that one of my "best friend" whose just came back from U.S. few months ago, was here recently. it seems that she is going to jakarta this 2nd august. well just imagine, i was the one who asked my friend (not close) whats my "best friend" doing, flying to overseas. "kerja", she said. huhu... i was kinda sad, when thinking about this.

i miss enjoying life with my best friends ~ whose always there to share secrets, ideas, hanging-out, movies, bowling etc.

i like seeing my dad and his school friends today. there were a bunch of them at home for lunch, cooked by my grandma. i could proudly say that my dad and his friends always keep in touch with each other often. mckk is having one of the biggest yearly event this week, from yesterday till tomorrow. its called mckk's old boys weekend. this is the time for all the budak koleq to balik kampung and meet/get-together with their former school friends, old and young. usually they play field games during the day and they will be having a reunion concert on saturday night. for this year, i heard vajiravudh college is here too for rugby match. my dad brought mom to koleq last nite to meet some of his friends. as usual he came back with the event' t-shirt. he also bought one for my son. yes, there's kids size too!. i didn't ask them anything, suddenly i heard my mom said that she saw suhaimi sulaiman. hmm... i knew u r there, but u dunno exactly who i am hehe...

what a blast @#$%^&* !

i said last weekend was a blast because i really went all out last saturday nite. hehe... just imagine, i stop drinking as soon as i found out that i was pregnant for megat. that was like more than seven years ago! now... i did it again ;)

friends... they are the one who taught us the good, the bad, everything. thus... we cannot blame them all cuz we are the one who could decide whether the thing is right or wrong.

we had a small and simple brunch-cum-birthday-party for adik ina and puteri at my sister's place in kd on saturday. most of our immediate relatives were there. although it's a simple one but we end-up with two sets of cakes! auntie mia and family brought one set while cousin sarah brought another lol... luckily they were going to a grand-auntie's place at desa coffin (is this right, i wonder... cuz i heard they pronounced it that way) for bbq that night. so they brought along some cakes there too. anyhow i didn't plan to go along as i thought of meeting some old friends that i've never met for so long.

few days before i went to kl, i sms koboi asking about his workplace. thank god he didn't ask me back anything. well i thought since he surprised me before, then i should surprise him also. i know, from there, i could meet our other old colleagues and friends too. simple as that. anyhow koboi called me that afternoon just to say hi. i guess that was the chance for me also to know whether he was working that day. so around four something i left the house and went straight to bangsar. one thing about bangsar from the one more than 10 years ago ~ it was damn hysterical looking for parking at jalan telawi area. at least it was not that bad at bsc though. alas i found a good one after a few rounds, not far from jalan telawi 2. then i walked a few blocks from my 4wd to
la bodega, headed straight to the bar counter. i asked one of the bartender for koboi. he said that koboi went out for his break.

ok that's fine. i waited for him (koboi) at one of the stools facing inside. not long after that i heard the bartender told me, "ha... tu dia". but i just make dunno. suddenly someone poked my waist from the back. "arrgghhh... ", he shouted out loud. koboi laughed but i just smiled. "ohh... nak surprise kan orang konon. so it seems tadi when i called u were in kuale... ". hehe... now my turn to surprise you lar kawan lol... koboi introduced me to all his colleagues and his mat salleh gm. like what i guess earlier, within minutes koboi dissappeared and within 1/2 an hour some of our friends came in. before that koboi already asked me, "what would you like to have. ayor buah? vodka? beer? ayor saje? alar... saya tau lar awak... ". heyyy... please lar... i told him about my life in kampung, so much different than my kl life before kan. "alar... boleh percaya ke?", he asked. up to you lar... he was doing his jobs behind the bar while talking to me. he is really good in that line i tell you. koboi asked me again about what i would like to have. i shooked my head. within seconds, he put a glass of vodka lime infront of me while saying, "sudah lar awak...". a waiter placed a set of spanish meals infront of me. i like the mushroom. it seems that its the favourite there. when our friends came, the place became more havoc. we talked and laughed until koboi punched-out +/- 6.30pm. we then went to koboi's place at pines condo. he definitely dun wanna join us in his uniform hehe... we then proceed back to bangsar where koboi brought us to a pub (i dunno the name) somewhere infront of
la bodega. they all drank jugs of beer. i can't do that, i still gonna go back with mom at home ;) so they ordered vodka lime also for me. i guess i drank more than four or five glasses! adik ina sms me when i was there. she was in bsc with friends. i looked at my guess watch, it was 9.30. i told koboi that i cannot join them until so late. he asked me to stay for a while. i sms adik ina back telling her that i would fetch her in 1/2 an hour. "boleh ke?", koboi asked. ahhh... he saw what i typed from the back! i looked at the watch again, 10.30. so i told koboi that i really have to go. i kissed and hugged the rest of our friends. my head was a bit dz. i told this to koboi. ya lor... its been more than seven years... dun worry, i could still managed myself. koboi walked me to my 4wd. i fetched adik ina, wow... she met a mat salleh friend ;) once back, i took my shower and went to sleep.

as soon as i woke up around 8 yesterday, i asked megat whether he wanna follow me to 1u. since he wanna go also, i told myself, this time its okay because i was gonna meet a new forumer friend rose of
mckk8286 forum for the first time. i'm not sure whether rose has a blog. i stumbled into that forum just by chance because i found out that i've been tracked by camus (one of the budak koleq). wa lau ley... he's so free meh searching for blogs on koleq, huh?!! anyhow like i told them before i never talked bad about them as almost all my generations studied there. anyway back to the earlier story. i fetched puteri and my cousin at my auntie's place before we went to 1u. as soon as we reached there, puteri and my cousin went off their own way. i promised to call her after i finished with rose. we supposed to meet for brunch at tgif. 11am, its still closed. we met infront of tgif though. we exchanged gift. she gave me some goodies while i gave her the company's diary/planner. i hope that she likes it. so rose said that we should follow what megat wants so that he won't be boring later. rose came alone. so we went to mcD instead. besides me, rose entertained megat too. rose knew how talkative was megat that day hehe... megat wanted to go to toys 'r' us. we brought him there. we talked almost everything from life, work and stuff. it was not that easy because i have megat with me. i'm sorry rose, maybe we'll meet again some other time. i called puteri. we then went to a watch shop. i told her that she could choose her own present since she already a big girl now. she chose a baby pink casio watch. if i'm not mistaken the actual price was more than RM250. but since its on christmas sale, i paid the watch for RM180 only. whatever it is, at least puteri is happy with what she got. for adik ina, i bought an estee lauder miniature parfum set yesterday at 1u too.

o yea... i almost forgot this... friday night. i met a new blogger friend annamox too! read her version here. met her at mid valley. eventually i wanted to give her the same thing i gave rose. unfortunately i forgot to bring it that night. sorry kawan... we just talked a bit... hi hi bye bye lol... she was rushing to meet another friend somewhere in shah alam. its alright kawan, there's always a next time. apparently she knows kimi, leilanie's friend also. hehe... small world kan? she was browsing thru the blogs that link from mine... walla...

anyhow i sms V on friday to let him know that i was there in kl. didn't meet him. like i mentioned here in my blog few months ago, both of us knew that we cannot meet in kl, dangerous wohh... he is one of the well-known guy in the country thats why. my place is a no no too. the best is at his place in ipoh ;)

kuE's note: oftrash, if you dun understand some of the weird words let me know okay. sometimes i may type in malay too, depends on whats gonna come out from my brain ;)

sembang² with... kuE!

sembang² with... kuE!

i maybe a bit slow in updating my blogs lately especially starting late 2009. but i have decided to make a good come back for this new year. like very soon, you will see me releasing quite a number of blog post that are still hanging there in my draft folder :) at the meantime, let me start with this~

WILKOMMEN!!!

to one and all...

so i wanted to start doing a topic (or two, or maybe more) of the week called sembang² with... kuE!, posted every sunday. i guess this is a good way for me to update this blog frequently. i will type a topic that i find discussable from other people's facebook status updates, give you my answer, and then hope you guys fill out the comments section with your answers or feedbacks! and hey... of course i will retype other names instead and take out the links and their profile pics for privacy purposes. how's that?

topic of the week #1:

Lela juz finished marguerita dance...feeling hungry yg terlampau and now at benjiana steakhouse having teh tarik and steak...kakakaka!

Zareen uishh mama melahap tak ajak eh..
Thu at 8:09pm

when i saw the above on last thursday, i was rather shocked. yes, if you are a mother too like me, i am sure you will think of how on earth a daughter can dare to mention 'melahap' to her own mother. this was where i got the new idea to come out with sembang² with... kuE!

alright, some may see its a family joke. but when a word that normally referred to animals, as only animal eat greedily like lion; i strictly do not think the word is good for humans too.

somehow or rather that shows our society today. often that was not acceptable last time is practically look upon as okay. if we say we are keeping up with times, it's true, but at the same time a culture is dying.

as a concerned citizen, i braved myself to type a comment:

hey... it's not good to say 'melahap' especially to a mother! i am not trying to be a busy body, but i guess it's not wrong to remind each other~ that's what we PTA committee at SMKRPK believe. thank you so much for the understanding.

my instinct is always right! i knew it in the first place when i typed earlier that i am gonna get all types of replies, including those who teased. and to the one who teased me, its alright, what goes around, will comes around. this is what we called life. i have been facing with all these through out my life!

i did go back to the page and replied some of the comments. some said that i worked in pta. walaweiii... pta is not a job ler, but its a community work instead. if its a job, i am very sure that many parents will be attending its agm with hope to be chosen as one of the committee members.

there's also people said i am fierce, aggressive. this is another~ if i am as such, i won't let my puteri to befriend with budak² koleq, or rmc and so forth! i make it a point to communicate well with my kids~ talk and discuss with them about life and whatever that could be discussed together. we must be someone that our kids could trust, to look upon to when they need us.

and here, i copy & paste lela's answer:

sometimes when we didn't know the real situation..we better remain silent or shud reserve our comment in the first place..the conversation was between me and my daughter and she didn't pointed it out to someone else! wat is wrong with melahap...just like i said..its family jokes...u also have family jokes right...then pls ignore ours!

since when lak every single words kt sini will be commented...unless very2 bad word she said to me!

if I were you i wont give any comments until the real story is revealed! nanti kena bang sana sini....if you already used to it...try la to change , sometimes people can't take it easily...tak seronok jugak sbb org asyik kata sana sini...kata kita being too bagus! everyone make mistakes..

some peoples are just dont bother about others family talk...even I also dont bother at all....each family has their own ways to keep and stay happy in life......

apa2pun..dont take this as big issue lah...kita masing2 ada anak n family...just give our full attention to them..bother lah ttg org lain...as long they are happy with their life...i feel happy too! I know my daughter very well..the words she often, sledom or never used!

to my darling angel...sian..nak berFB pun susah yer...hehehe
mama loves u so much...and don't ever ever use the word 'damn' here ok!! i know u wont!

anyway tq for the reminder...

lela actually was my school batch. it was really a surprising moment to see of what's happening now. i thought we must give good examples to our kids for our own future generation. i dunno lar... its up to the individual then i guess ;P

topic of the week #2:

Sue is a little bengang: Was@ a parking lot during lunch hr, saw this makcik with loads of stuff, navigating her way towards her car - behind her, 1 girl about my princess' age, she was walking towards middle of the road - i was on the opposite lot, saw a car approaching frm her rear, i ran across the road, pulled her aside... the makcik scolded me... 'Cina tak guna, tarik anak aku...' DUH!!!???
Fri at 5:14pm · Comment · Like

sue was eventually from my school also, a senior. no doubt she is the same sue i know from last time and always... in fact i drove to ipoh last 2 weeks just to have breakfast with her. believe it or not, that was the first time we met, after i left school about more than 20 years ago!

alright, its not to say that we are not in a spirit of 1malaysia, even if we are in 1family also might be have some miscommunication. what sue did was a 1malaysia spirit even though the result is a bit disappointed. well... lots of people don't see the "bigger" picture and these type of people are a big put off! but she did good in pulling the child to safety :)

according to sue, she did explain to the lady of what had happened. but too bad, the makcik was so blinded with rage, she couldn't care less... pity her...

5 reasons why kuE blog

my dear blogger friend Warren Tan TL (we met last week) tagged me for this a couple of days ago, but i'm ummm.... lazy.... (Shhhh! don't tell anybody!)

  1. i started my blog so that i could have an outlet for some of the stuff i had been through. because as awful as it was, i've got a powerful testimony to god's provision, love, and faithfulness through it all! and secrets lose their power when they are no longer secret.

  2. i also thought that if i shared what we've been through, maybe i could connect with other people who had been through something similar. then, we could be a support to each other. because the one thing that was sorely lacking when this happened was someone that genuinely understood. i'm sorry it happened to someone else, but i praise god that my prayer to find someone who totally knew what i meant was answered. and i feel blessed to be able to offer support to her too.

  3. i am terrible at writing in a journal, so i thought this was a good way to do some journaling, at least, it would hold my interest a little more, and it has :)

  4. it gives me a chance to write things i wouldn't take the time to otherwise. i love writing, i know i'm not all that great at it, but when i grow up, i think i want to be a writer :P

  5. it's a chance to connect with others. i've found others who blog who i would never be in communication with otherwise. i have connected with people whom i admire and respect very much, and they've caused me to think about things i wouldn't otherwise, and look at things a different way, and they've helped sharpen my faith.

so, i want to take this opportunity to thank those of you who take the time to blog. even if you believe that nobody would want to read what you have to say, i tell you that's not true. even if it means something to one person, it's worth it. i don't comment as much as i'd like because i'm... lazy... (SHHHH! DONT TELL ANYBODY!!!) but i'm reading as much as i can and i appreciate what you have to say!

on another note, a very special thanks to a bunch of bloggers that i met at the penang bloggers meet organized by Logic Yuan recently. if not because of blogging, i won't met all of you nice people! and if not because of blogging too, that i won't met Lydia Teh. also if not because of blogging too, that Camus won't have tracked my blog post on koleq and the rest is history ;)

now here's the next 5 lucky victims that i would like to tag....... so tell me, why do you blog?

kuE's note: i'll up-date the links when my victims have done theirs ;)

project 365: 6th week—

project 365 — 6th week

day 36 — the last day of the week before, i snapped a hinting picture of what i sew for redmummy; while this is how i shipped my packages ie via pos malaysia’ pos ekspres! the best part of it is the recipients can keep track of the packages shipped online with the code number provided. i would like to take this opportunity to thank ayu for helping me to arrange for giving out the personalized laptop sleeve to redmummy!!! terima kasih daun keladi, lain kali kita plan lagik ek? lol... the best thing is she lurves the gift sooooo much! *big grin*

day 37 — actually on that morning, i attended a farewell function for my former teacher cik hajjah ramlah who has been officially retired on 22 june 2009. it was a very nice event indeed, unfortunately yours truly forgot to bring her camera!!! eventually i never took it out from my handbag unless i wanna snap or load any pictures. but i did the night before to charge the camera’s battery— importantly to prepare for cik ramlah’s retirement and also a function that i was supposed to attend as well over the weekend. so at last i end up with this picture of a chinese temple near our house. i had a line dance practice for a function on last sunday, at a hall next to it.

day 38 — it was a wedding reception night of my uncle at royal ipoh club. that’s me with my cousin nenen. he can speak mandarin very well occay… just like megat, yes… he went to study in a chinese school in ipoh. besides that he was also a basketball player for the state’ team if i’m not mistaken.

day 39 — it was last sunday night, when i performed for the first time with part of my line dance group. it was for the MCA kualè mother & father’s day celebrations. i was kinda nervous though when I danced the first song, to a zapin tune… walaweiii… what more when i heard a guy shouted: “come one, kuE!!!” wargghhh… i focused to the audience and i saw shafizan, an old cliffordian i knew since my school days. he must be one of the UMNO guys that he has been invited to the function, blerk! anyhow sorry ler dude, i wore my dad’s sampin koleq on that night lol… credit goes to megat for helping me to take some pics and videos :)

day 40 — it was a hazy morning in kualè, and i bet it was the same to other places around the area. luckily i happened to have my N76 with me that I snapped this pic from the river bank, before i started my line dance session— you can’t even see sayong! take note that normally i didn’t bring my mobile phone when i go for my morning exercises; but i did that morning because i wanna show-off my new N76 case to my friend ms tung hehee…

day 41 — busy at work: people take note that kualè is clean thanks to those MPKK guys for making sure that everything are in order and in good condition at all time.

day 42 — work in progress: nothing to capture? must be like it huh… that’s me anyway, trying to finish sewing the “in-the-mood” handbags that i am selling. as you could see, not all parts of the handbags were machine-stitched; thus the prices are as such.

the history of 'egg steak' at yut loy...

my two aunties and a cousin from kl came over earlier in the afternoon. they were craving for yut loy's. so all of us headed there after i fetched puteri from school. well i dunno of how many times i went there myself this few days. megat and i had 'roti kahwin' for breakfast on saturday after our walks. a day before that, a foreign friend dropped over on his way back to kl from penang. and ya... our hang-out place for lunch was none other than... yut loy! ivo really love the place than those high-class one. according to him, yut loy's the right place to wind down, surrounded with friendly kuale people weee...

i know i know... i have been blogging about yut loy like sooooo many times. but here's something that i think i don't see this anywhere else—

egg steak

egg steak!!!

so have you people heard or tried egg steak before? i had that during lunch today. normally i will ask for buttered toast of traditional bread, to be dipped in to the steak's gravy and voila! its very nice i tell you... i like!

initially yut loy's started to serve egg steak as per budak koleq's request wayyyyy back during the old days. i was told that they can't afford to pay for beef steak then. so someone was asking ah meng whether he can cook for them beef steak' gravy but to substitute the beef with eggs instead. what a good idea huh?!! then the price was very affordable to them... hah! i dunno how much was the cost then, now is RM7.

Mrs N C Partridge (1916--2008)

when i heard the news that our Mrs N C Partridge had passed away, from my dear daughter Puteri (the students were informed about this during the school's official assembly yesterday by the headmistress Cik Hajjah Nazipah), memories of RPK (formerly MGS/GEGS) came rushing into my mind. i am always proud to call myself an Old Girl of RPK, the school you built with pride. i always admired the way you remembered your past students including my mother, my aunties like Auntie Kay (who was a school's sprinter), Wan Pah (our OGA' vice president) and many more; no matter how many years have gone by.

my mother remembered meeting Mrs Partridge at rawang railway station so many years ago. she eventually gave two tips to my mother while waiting patiently there—
  1. to know whether a stone is real, drop water on top of it. if the water didn't fall, then you know that the stone is real.
  2. if migraine occur, we can just pull or massage our toe. i am not sure whether this is true, but to those who always had migraine, maybe you can try this tips.

my mother also told me that Mrs Partridge's god-daughter Kuppamah was her classmate. her father, Kuppamuthu was the school's first gardener. it seems that its not that difficult for Kuppamah to get a job as a physiotherapy because most of the interviewers were 'budak koleq' :)

it is very sad indeed to hear the news that Mrs Partridge who passed away peacefully on last tuesday, had moulded many of our characters into useful citizens of the world wherever we are in, through her well known discipline. I am glad to note at the same time, the almighty has blessed her with a long life.

Mrs Partridge, i had never seen you. but i heard, you were the milestone of MGS/GEGS. it is big loss to our community of a great administrator and an educationist with a proven track record in our school. i would like to say my deep condolences to the beloved ones of our headmistress.

'lives of great woman all remind us and we must make our lives sublime and departing leave behind us foot-prints in the sands of time'. the memory of 'Mrs N C Partridge' will live in the hearts and minds of those who came under her influence, for many years to come.

* * * * *

Mrs N C Partridge will be 92 years old when she celebrates her next birthday in March, 2008. She needs the aid of a walking stick now when she walks. Soon, she will have to get a pair of special shoes since one of her legs has become slightly shorter than the other because of a fracture she had suffered after a fall. Yet, she still travels regularly to visit her daughter and her family in Australia. Her memory is much better than most people twenty years younger. She has a fantastic sense of humour and, on the telephone, she sounds like a sixteen-year old girl and actually giggles like one.

There is nothing that she wants changed in her life. Even if she were to live it all over again, she would want it exactly the same. Her marriage and her family have brought her so much happiness and fulfillment. She feels very blessed and extremely honoured that she was able to be the Headmistress of the same school for 27 years. She is very contented and very happy. Never depressed, Mrs Partridge always has a positive mind, full of enthusiasm and high spirit. She lives comfortably with the pension that she receives every month, hers and the one derived from her late husband's pension, a total of about RM1,700. There is nothing more than she needs.

Mrs Partridge diligently follows not only affairs of the nation but keeps abreast of all that is happening around the world. Until three or four years ago, she was still active in the Girl Guides and Sultan Abdul Aziz's Children Home in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, and was in constant attendance at their meetings. A few years ago she was still driving to Kuala Kangsar town from her house in Taiping Road, Kuala Kangsar a distance about five miles. Now her car, a dark green Opel Kadett 1.2S with registration number AAA7884 bought sometime in 1978 or 79, rests under the porch in front of her house in retirement like its owner.

N C Partridge — that is how she would sign her name. Her past students from the school would surely remember her trademark signature in their annual Report Cards with her customary personal 'well done' messages or advice to work harder or do better, whichever the case might be. Yet in all probability, most, if not all, of them would know what the 'N C' stands for. Indeed, the awe and respect they had for their Headmistress would not allow them to even wonder about it! To them, she was just 'Mrs Partridge'.

In fact, it was not just her full name. There was little that was actually known about her as an individual. What had become obvious then was about her as the Headmistress and how she managed the school. In fact, these two aspects of her life are actually inextricable and both have combined to make her a truly remarkable and unique individual.

OBW® 2008

i was about to load the above pic when vroommm... a few cars drove in and parked in to the house compound. it was my lil' bro and friends. maybe they wanted to have some quality times here other than in koleq.

i was on the way back from a function at the primary school when i snapped the pic hehe... saje je (simply) go all the way round ;) actually i was on the look out for this! hehe... who knows maybe he can bring me jalan-jalan with his new car. he's an OB too. we have known each other via blogosphere for quite some time but haven't met.

for those who dunno, there's the big school. a prominent feature of the big school is the big tree (ref pic, on right). located in front of the east wing, it was said to be as old as the school itself. it is of the samanea saman species, and commonly known as the rain tree, coco tamarind, acacia preta, french tamarind, saman, monkey pod or "pokok pukul lima" (five o'clock tree). it came from tropical america, and has a large dome-shaped canopy. it can grow up to 180 feet tall with a crown up to 240 feet across. as the leaves age, the colour changes from pale green to bright yellow and then to a golden colour before shedding. the flowers are small pinkish green. go here, here or here to know more about this species.

to the boys of mckk, big tree is more than just a tree. it is a monument that every living old boy can easily relate to. throughout its existence, it has been a landmark for many a congregation, and serves as both a meeting and parting point. stories pertaining to big tree, true or mythical, are plentiful.

i am sure some of you people were wondering of how i know the mckk facts hehe... hey, its so simple-- my dad was from the class of 1963, while my lil' bro-- batch 1993. and oh... not forgetting my late great grandfather too, whose also was the first head boy if i am not mistaken; also my uncles and cousins.

o yea... when i left the house this morning, the cake ordered by a teacher has been left at home for her to collect it. mother said the teacher was very impressed with it *phew*

of raising a teenage girl

i dropped off puteri at yut loy at 4 pm yesterday, to meet her boy friend aman a budak koleq, the same guy that went jalan-jalan with her and megat on the new year's eve. eventually aman and puteri are just friends, nothing serious. they fetched megat (the school is located just a few steps away from yut loy) at 5 pm then went back to yut loy while waited for me to come over.

it's not true if i say that i am not worried of puteri knowing or going out with boys. teenage girls all want freedom. having once been a teenage girl and now having my own teenage daughter, i can honestly say that nothing could be more true. i can also proudly say that my teenage daughter consider me their best friend and i am touched with such an honor. teenage daughters want privacy and life without restrictions. we as parents must be able to reason with them. no i am not saying give them what they want. just enough to let them understand we are listening. i believe that teenage girls should have male phone calls at 14 years of age without the dates. at the age of 15 they should be able to go on dates as long as we drop them off and pick them up. preferably the movies, bowling or skating. at age 16 they can go to parties as long as there is a parent present.

it is not easy raising a teenage daughter. young ladies have so many emotions and worries along with puberty and hormone issues. you must listen too there needs in life as well as advise them to become respectable young adults. teenage girls worry about if a boys are going to like them or if that pimple going to get any bigger. we as parents must remember that we were once teenagers as well. so we must put that into prospective when it comes to raising a teenage girl.

most teenage girls are not looking for a friend in a parent. this is the time that our attention is needed the most. we as parents need to be able to understand their mood swings. there is always a situation that needs to be resolved, and it is easily expressed by a sudden unexpected mood swing that teenage girls face. they have so many peer pressures that they face on almost a daily basis.

p/s i introduced EmailCashPro on this blog the other day. basically you will be paid by just reading emails. so what are you waiting for people. go and register yourself now here.
