merdeka @ 49

today marks the malaysia's 49th national day. as usual there would always be the national day grand parade where kuching was the host for this year. well i remember that i did join once when it was held here in kuale for the district level, during my school days. i was one of those students represented girl guides.

here's something about the above picture that i picked from
bernama-

" The people's objective and dreams were reached on the night of August 30, 1957 at the Padang Selangor Club (now Dataran Merdeka) where the Union Jack flag was lowered for the last time and the Malayan flag was proudly raised.

The following day a new independent nation was born with Tunku Abdul Rahman declaring the Malayan Independence at the Merdeka Stadium. The historical event was attended by thousands of citizens, the Malay Rulers, the Duke of Gloucester (representing the Queen) and other representatives from the British government. The day was a most important and glorious day for all Malayans (then) and Malaysians today, for after 446 long years of colonisation, our land finally became a sovereign independent nation. "

kuE's note: to all malaysians- happy 49th national day!

young vs old

my mom simply switched on to tv3 channel last monday, during the live telecast of siti's akad nikah ceremony. she told me that megat asked her to show him, siti's husband. "HARRR?!!!", questioned megat. megat was puzzled when his pom pointed her right thumb to datuk k lol.

so last night, grandma said she rather watched
mawi-ina programme than siti’s wedding. but at one time she changed the channel during that tv-ads. as soon as megat saw it that time, he said, “ee… siti kahwin dengan orang tua kan mama (siti married with an old man right mama)”.

not as easy as i thought

wow... i awoke at almost 8am yesterday morning.

i called him as soon as i wake-up. he was still at work. our time difference is +/- 16 hours apart. we discussed a bit about the arrangement for my trip there. if everything goes well, we might be seeing each other for the first time after three years or so of our relationship, when i fly there on 14 September 2006. the problem now is for me to get the visa. the
canadian immigration requested me to submit so many personal documents including my financial and properties proof. he also has to prepare an invitation letter for me. gosh… wonder what’s all that for.

oh god, please help us. we can't wait no more.

busy body

some of my take-out food at mcD not ready yet. so i have been asked to wait. the girl also gave me a small cup of coke. i don't take gas drink no more actually. but since i was kinda thirsty that afternoon, never mind lor. i proceed to a table facing the counter.

suddenly when a lady cleaner passed by me, she asked whether i know her boss. "o yea... dia ada buat birthday party kat kuale dulu (he organised a birthday party in kuale last time)", i told her. then i just smiled to her. was that a fake smile? lol. i don't feel good though when she asked me that sort of question. mind your own business ler kan. i guess maybe she saw me talking to her boss earlier.

i brought two of my staff to a customer service course organised by the company, in
seri malaysia hotel yesterday morning. we had our lunch there.

as usual whenever i go out of town for work, i will definitely get something for my kids before i go back. i decided to buy mcD food for kids and the rest of my staff. i was lucky that i parked my 4wd right infront of the restaurant. my staff didn't want to follow, so i went down alone. when i walked to the counter, i saw one of the female staff that i recognised, standing not so far behind the counter. we waved and smiled to each other. i dunno her name though lol. i knew her since the day she came to our house with esther and two other male staff. i catered mcD food for megat's 5th birthday two years ago.

the cashier already asked me for my order. when i was half way told her what i wanted, a male staff walked towards the girl. i knew that guy too. he was one of the male staff that came along with esther. yea... we have met so many times but we dunno our names lol.

"hie", i greeted him.

"i see that you always come down to ipoh".

"yes. minimum is once a week. i always come for meeting or something. but today i brought two of my staff for a course in seri malaysia". he was looking around. "oh, they are in the car waiting for me", i continued.

"maybe next time you could have a meeting here".

"o yes?".

"why not".

"i'll see how. i am one of the committee in my task force. maybe i could suggest something".

"alright".

"so what's your name. we always met but i never got the chance to know your name". i saw his mouth moving but i didn't manage to hear him quite well. gosh... how is this. the environment was a bit noisy. i can't hear. "oh, saiful". gee... i hope he couldn't hear me lol.

"and you are...", i saw his eyes was looking at my name, on my uniform. he then said my name out loud and smiled. "wait. i'll give you my card so that it will be easy for you to call me next time". i nodded, agreed. my big round eyes were more bigger after i had a look at his card. his name is zulkefle and not saiful ler... lol. he is also the restaurant manager ;)

then i continue ordering my take-out food. i had to wait. that was when the lady worker asked whether i knew her boss or not. grr... if you think you wanna be friendly to me, that's not the way lor... btw i didn't comment anything to her as i know how to respect other people older than me. plus maybe i was a bit good that time. but if she was younger than me, i am sure that i would tell her off, the same as
the big-mouth girl last time :P

the new american quran ~ a dangerous TRICK

i received this from a forwarded email by one of my colleague-

The True Furqan

You Cant Ignore this, send it to as many muslims as u can.

The new AMERICAN Quran: a dangerous trick. A new Quran is being distributed in Kuwait, titled "The True Furqan". It is being described as the ayats of the Shaytan and Al-Furqan weekly magazine has found out that the two American printing companies;'Omega 2001' and 'Wine Press' are involved in the publishing of 'The True Furqan', a book which has also been titled 'The 21st Century Quran'! It is over 366 pages and is in both the Arabic and English languages...it is being distributed to our children in Kuwait in the private English schools! The book contains 77 Surats, which include Al-Fatiha, Al-Jana and Al-Injil. Instead of Bismillah, each Surat begins with a longer vesion of this incorporating the Christian belief of the three spirits.

And this so called Quran opposes many Islamic beliefs. in one of its ayats it describes having more than one wife as fornication, divorce being non-permissable and it uses a new system for the sharing out of the will, opposing the current one. It states that Jihad is HARAAM.

This book even goes as far as attacking Allah, Subhanahu wa Tahala!

All this is poisoning our children at approx. $3.

Brothers and Sisters please make sure you forward this
email to as many people as possible so that we can stop this dangerous trick.

Please tell everyone you know and may Allah reward you.

kuE's note: "the true furqan" is FAKE. please

trained them from young

this actually happened last week. but it took me sometime to post it here as (you know...) i was damn busy like a bee with kids and work. at the meantime i took the chance to draft this post in my mind lol.

we were on the way back from school one day last week. puteri told me that some of her school friends never and/or do not even know some light, simple and basic house chores. she was kinda surprised. i explained to her that maybe her friend's parents employed maids that's why. anyhow, i also told puteri that whatever it is we as females in the family have to know and do some simple works at home. we can't just depends on other people. those are for our own good, not for the benefit of others. i am glad that my puteri understand my explanation very well. so that means it was okay for her to do and helped me with some of the house chores. we do not have maids at home. we did all the works together including my grandmother, parents and my kids.

guess what people. some people were shocked when we answered to their questions about us having maids. serious. we never employ any maids at all. even during my marriage life in kl before too. maybe people were surprised cuz they knew we live in a big bungalow house. but without maids (?) lol.

for puteri, she will make her bed every morning herself. she also has been trained to make sure that her wardrobe is neat- clothes folded and hanged properly. puteri also already has the habit to wash her own plates everytime after meal. she will even helped us to wash some of others sometimes. every saturday morning is the time for her to wash her school shoes. she has done this since she was eight years old. while i will do it for megat. in fact megat knows that he will do the same soon. besides that, i did the laundry myself every early morning. now you know why i wakes-up at 5am daily. but on weekends, i would normally do that together with puteri.

as you could see, i am proud that puteri could be independent in case we have to be apart. like i told puteri, not to curse or tease her friends who dunno anything about house works. in this case, its just like 'mind your own business'. in other words, different people got different style of trained their generations. in the end, we could see of whose who is better among all ;)

taukey?

hehe... bukan. tauke punya anak.

the chinese man was shocked when he has been informed that i am the boss here lol. i guess its as usual like anybody else who saw me for the first time. maybe he was wondering whether i am really the boss with a petite size haha... never mind, this is me, what to do ;)

don't they have a life

azah and her brother nizam dropped-by here a while ago for them to fax a police report to the ipoh sales office (ISO). they have just reported about a robbery case happened in their work place early this morning around 7.40 am. i could still remember that azah and her mom faced a different kind of robbery case also last year. they were on their way back home to ipoh. it happened about two months before my case. this time the indian robbers used parang. it seems they even attacked the customer who shouted for help. that's what i know so far. i don't dare to ask her no more. maybe next time. i managed to listen to her story while waiting for the fax to go through anyway.

damn the robbers... don't they have a life.

birthday, birthday and more birthdays

today is
shafinaz' birthday. i sms her this morning- "dear shafinaz, happy birthday to you and many happy returns of the day. luv, chor!".

but here at work we celebrated two of my staff' birthday. both of which already passed- 11th july and 1st august. i kept both cakes and some goodies at home. so i asked both of them to go the bank. while they were out, we got ready everything in my office. we had our weekly meeting outside as soon as they came back. then i asked everyone to go into my office for the celebration. both of them (the birthday boys) were surprised indeed. i also gave them a pair of
tgv complimentary tickets each, that my sister gave me through mom on last saturday. mom was in kajang with dad for a relative wedding. i have a pair left- that's mine lor lol ;)

kuE's note: i always remember my grandma's taboo ~ we are not allowed to celebrate a birthday in advance- its not good at all. but its always okay if we celebrate it on the actual day onwards. i was worried when leilanie and her friends celebrated their birthdays together. if i'm not mistaken, leilanie's birthday has passed before the day they celebrated it but not the other two i think. so please ladies, if you plan to do the same in the future, please make sure that you fix a date after your birthdays. it was just my two cents anyway. its all up to you to think.

the truth revealed

puteri and me were watching america's next top model last night when suddenly we heard a sound of a car. i took a peek from the window blinds. it was a grey colour gen2. oikk... i thought to myself that that must be the lady. maybe she came with her hubby. wahh... can't wait till next day meh? i was already in my pjs. no way am gonna meet her. so i asked mom. dad went to taiping. mom let them in. she (mom) tried to act cool. she even served them coffee.

at the same time, i told puteri that we better adjourned to mom's room to watch the show. i sms dad. then dad called, asked me to get all the staff for an urgent meeting in 1/2 an hour. mom asked the lady and hubby to go to our work-place when dad has arrived. i dunno what they discussed. but then my clerk F sms me, saying that the lady remembered that she submitted the customer's loyalty card application form on the same day the incident happened. wa lau ley... there you go- it was on the 1st NOT on 2nd. wakakakaaaa... when F showed dad the form, the hubby's face turned red. so dad still let them see the recorded video for the 1st' afternoon. it was around 1408 hours. thanks to our "
mr bola-bola", located at the ceiling near the cashier counter. it clearly showed that the lady gave my morning shift cashier on 1st august, two RM10.00 notes- she was terkejut beruk i tell you (i saw from last night's recorded video)! lol. i am sure she didn't sleep well yesterday.

well, thank god too that last night was hari khamis, malam jumaat. dad gave them RM50.00 as a
sedekah. at first the hubby didn't want to accept it. but then dad told him, "tak pe... ni kira sedekah. kalau awak tak nak, bagi je plak pada orang lain buat sedekah".

*phew* case settled.

anyhow i still wanna type a report about this case for my area manager asap. at least if the lady complaint anything to the hq, they have already get the thorough explanation ;)

kuE's note: i am going to spent a quality weekend with kids tomorrow. we didn't get the chance last week. i hope that you people will have a great weekend with your loved ones too... chiao!

comment please #2

comment please #1

wow... three post in one day! i'm breaking my own record? lol. anyhow... whatever it is i have to post this so that i could release some tension here.

there was this malay lady customer who purchased a RM20.00 item yesterday afternoon. even she herself not really sure of the exact time. she just said that it was maybe on her way back after school hours. she is a teacher mind you. it seems that she has mistakenly gave the cashier a RM10.00 note and a RM100.00 note, instead of two RM10.00 notes. oh gosh... hearing that really makes my heart boiling mann... yesterday's morning shift' till was balanced. now she was trying to blame it on us. i told her that maybe she left it somewhere. she was assured that she gave her RM100.00 note to the cashier blah blah blah... she was in my office with my two staff when i came back after lunch. they were watching the recorded video of yesterday's happenings via our cctv. hah! thank god our premise got cctv. to our surprised, there were no sign of her came into our place at all, between 1pm to 4pm. she even accused that maybe we have edit the video. wahh... got like that one mah?!! grr... i was even felt more angry with that lady. in my mind, i know that i have to face this type of customer. customer is always right, yes. but not in this case lor...

both my parents were in ipoh yesterday, visiting a friend at IGH. i remember before she left yesterday, i told her that i will call her if my dad comes back early. if not, i will do it tomorrow instead. let her settle with the big boss!

so how people. what would you do if that happened to you too. i guess its all because of her carelessness, that she wanna blame it on others? not my type. i have faced the same maybe once or twice. but what to do, it was my fault. i have learned from my own mistakes anyway ;)

young at heart always

hai... apa macam. lu dari mana.

tunggu anak lar, dia tuition sana dekat.

ohh... darjah belapa.

sape? itu anak? dia sudah darjah satu.

ohhhhh... ini?

wa ingat lu punya adik.

adik semua kat kolumpo lar. ini nombor satu punya anak.

aiyaa... wa memang ingat ini lu punya adik.

hahaha... puteri were smiling. followed by ah teng and me. we went to ah teng's grocery shop while waiting for megat at his mandarin tuition class. before that i fetched puteri from her extra class. that row of shop-houses are just a few blocks from our place. fyi too, we have known ah teng and family from our older generations. just like our punjabi neighbour. ah teng was damn surprised when seeing puteri who looks much more bigger than i am lol.

can you spot the hornbills?

here's a pic from this morning's visit. let us do some eye-test people. do you think that you could locate the hornbills ;)
