hari anugerah cemerlang rpk 2008

today is a big day. even bigger than my birthday. its the outstanding award day (prize/certificate giving day) of my former high school! finally, i got a chance to meet my school friends, seniors and teachers!

what's more that make us proud when it has been launched by ms mabel s muttiah, a sessions court judge in kuala pilah, negeri sembilan; whose also a former student of the school (1978--1982). its good also since "only officers from the education ministry are allowed to officiate at school functions to prevent such functions from being politicised". go here to read more about this. besides that, the school can invite more of their old girls in the future as there are quite a number of them who have succeed in their career. alas... we had a guest of honor who was very punctual, whereby previously we have to wait for quite some time for the datuks or datins to arrive. do correct me if i am wrong.

the function was scheduled to be started at 9 am. but since mabel reached the school at 8.45 am, it started right away. she was very good in her well prepared speech. she even told everyone some of her fond memories of her beloved school. surprisingly or not, she also called her sains rumah tangga (home science) [now ekonomi rumah tangga (household economics)] teacher puan ramlah, who is still teaching at the school-- "mana puan ramlah? puan ramlah, where are you? i know that you are somewhere in the hall". fyi puan ramlah taught me too! ;)

mabel will be coming down to her hometown again on 10 may 2008 for our OGA' committe member meeting. can you all imagine that people-- although she's busy with her high class career, but she still know her responsibilities. i do not think that its easy for some people. do you know that, before mabel became of what she is now, she used to work in supermarkets, gas stations, also as a minah dispatch, to accomodate part of her university studies expenses in england back then. so basically like the usual sayings-- "achievements started from the bottom line".

actually i was down with a slight fever and toncilitis since yesterday evening. i didn't have the energy to do anything so i went to bed very early last nite. and this morning megat was very surprised when i told him that i was going to the school's function-- "i thought that you are not feeling well ma. ohhh... i know... you still wanna go because you love your school?". tau tak pe... hehe...

so as usual i had my oatmeal for breakfast, after i send megat (only, cuz puteri didn't have to go to school); then got myself prepared for the function. i reached there by 8.25 am. when i was about to go home, an auntie whose also teaching there, told me that many of them said that i looked 'vogue' today. eh... i was not feeling well ler... you could see it yourself from my appearance. i also forgot to wear my earings! wargghhh!!!!... i was even kept myself quiet mostly... hah! tak pe ler... vogue pun vogue ler lol...

o yea... wish me for a speedy recovery ya... i hate getting sick. the last time i got sick was like few years ago!

coming soon... history of my school!

he's da man

Paul McMann has taught financial and management accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate level, most notably as a professor at babson college in wellesley, massachusetts. he has led several performance measurement and management accounting methodology seminars and published a number of scholarly articles, including "you may need new performance measures when...," an article co-authored by Paul McMann and Joseph M. Orlando that appeared in the journal of strategic performance measurement.

Paul McMann used his financial and academic skills to channel his lifelong love of basketball into a visionary endeavor dedicated to helping college basketball players fulfill their hoop dreams. in 1998, McMann helped reform college athletics with the collegiate professional basketball league (CPBL). McMann served as founder and president of the now defunct league, using his financial sales experience to broker huge internet sponsorships that allow talented players to receive an education—and a paycheck.

Paul McMann now focuses on real estate development in and around the metrowest massachusetts area. he currently resides in weston, maassachusetts and still writes for various publications, where he is credited as either Paul McMann or Paul J. McMann.

Menjelang 36

Ehemm....
Yeahhhh....

Jangan Pandang Belakang..

Last night I watch this movie for the first time on tv. I've heard many good reviews about this movie before but knowing me, I'm always way behind when it comes to catching up with new movies..what more a Malay one :p. And guess what..It was creepy! I found myself flipping the channel to watch 'American Idol' whenever the scenes got too creepy...haha.
Earlier, I had read yummy mummy's entry about ghost stories. I too used to keep a pillow handy when watching such movies..I remember growing up my dad used to bring home video cassettes of Poltergeist, The Evil Dead,The thing and etc... They gave me the creeps and I remember once I watched 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' I couldn't even sit on the toilet coz I was afraid the tomatoes would come out from the toilet bowl..*LOL*
Anyways, I couldn't sleep after that. Not that I was too scared (am getting a bit too old for that..), but all the anxiety made me restless..plus hubby still not home yet although it was way past 1 am. I understand that he had to work but it couldn't hurt for him to give me a call to wish me good night..*sigh*

Wishful thinking, I guess..

at last I made the call, as usual..

Oops..beginning to ramble already ..
Must watch my manner as I'm blogging on someone else's blog!
:p

Thanks kuE fot inviting me, it's an honour.

Happy Birthday gurrl..note that mine is right behind ya!

what type of pet do you own?

i have blog about my pet cat named 'pussy' before here and here. he has never been out of the house since i took him from our backyard, in order to safe him from the biawak (big lizard). the mother was from no where, always came to our house for food. sadly to say that i never see her no more.

from the two previous post about pussy, you could see of how fast he grows. he's already 1+ years old now. unfortunately i have to place him in his cage for the time being, as he's started to be "naughty". i had no time to bring him to the vet. only recently that i managed to go there to fix an appointment for him. well once he's been neutered, for sure he will be freely wondering around the house.

for me, people who own felines or dogs are truly wonderful people on earth. check out sugarykisses' little pomerianian, aren't he cute? even paris hilton offered a $5,000 reward four years ago for the return of her chihuahua tinkerbell, when she noticed the dog hadn't been tailing her for a week.

so how about you people... what type of pet do you own?

HDPE scrap

nowadays scrap is a common thing in our lives. you have scrap metal, scrap plastic, scrap rubber and so on. however today i will be discussing about scrap plastic. scrap is products that can be recycled for further use. as pollution is a problem and since plastics are used in every day to day product the need of recycling plastics is important. in case of recycling, HDPE plastic is one of the largest plastics recycled. what is HDPE? its full form is High Density Polyethylene. did you know that HDPE actually comes from petroleum!

Raw polymers Ltd. are in the business of collecting or purchasing various types of plastics from different type of industries. on the other hand HDPE Scrap are in the industry of distributing and sourcing Scrap HDPE. i have said that HDPE plastic is quite familiar so where are they actually used. they are used in many packaging applications as it protects the product from water and chemical resistance. it is also used like a film in snack food packages and cereal box liners. as HDPE is widespread, providing recycled HDPE will be frequent. these two companies are protecting the environment by recycling HDPE plastics and since plastics are harming the environment such as producing land and water pollution. tons of plastics are dumped in scrap-yard with other waste products, although there have been projects to isolate the plastics so it makes it easier to process them. you can even buy scrap HDPE milk bottles at the site. so next time when you use plastics especially HDPE you will know it has been recycled.

OBW® 2008

i was about to load the above pic when vroommm... a few cars drove in and parked in to the house compound. it was my lil' bro and friends. maybe they wanted to have some quality times here other than in koleq.

i was on the way back from a function at the primary school when i snapped the pic hehe... saje je (simply) go all the way round ;) actually i was on the look out for this! hehe... who knows maybe he can bring me jalan-jalan with his new car. he's an OB too. we have known each other via blogosphere for quite some time but haven't met.

for those who dunno, there's the big school. a prominent feature of the big school is the big tree (ref pic, on right). located in front of the east wing, it was said to be as old as the school itself. it is of the samanea saman species, and commonly known as the rain tree, coco tamarind, acacia preta, french tamarind, saman, monkey pod or "pokok pukul lima" (five o'clock tree). it came from tropical america, and has a large dome-shaped canopy. it can grow up to 180 feet tall with a crown up to 240 feet across. as the leaves age, the colour changes from pale green to bright yellow and then to a golden colour before shedding. the flowers are small pinkish green. go here, here or here to know more about this species.

to the boys of mckk, big tree is more than just a tree. it is a monument that every living old boy can easily relate to. throughout its existence, it has been a landmark for many a congregation, and serves as both a meeting and parting point. stories pertaining to big tree, true or mythical, are plentiful.

i am sure some of you people were wondering of how i know the mckk facts hehe... hey, its so simple-- my dad was from the class of 1963, while my lil' bro-- batch 1993. and oh... not forgetting my late great grandfather too, whose also was the first head boy if i am not mistaken; also my uncles and cousins.

o yea... when i left the house this morning, the cake ordered by a teacher has been left at home for her to collect it. mother said the teacher was very impressed with it *phew*

den tum... den tam...

ya... while i am typing this, i can hear the sound of the fire crackers from town-- its the sultan's 80th birthday tomorrow people!!! i am not in the mood to view it, as i am in the mid of baking a birthday cake ordered by a teacher for tomorrow. well its in the ovens though :P thus that i made it for this post! yea... hehe...

Dirgahayu* Kebawah Duli Tuanku!

"dirgahayu" is an interesting word. i know the readers of this blog together with the hundreds of thousands of perakians driving past by huge banners that say "Dirgahayu Kebawah Duli Tuanku" are taking the banners for granted. but here is the interesting bit-- how many actually would know what the word "Dirgahayu" means? do you know? i know because i checked.

"Dirgahayu" according to a dictionary (ahh... whats the name?), my trusted 3K+ pages dictionary with tiny little fonts that hurt my eyes, defined it as "(mudah-mudahan) lanjut usia; berumur panjang (biasanya ditujukan kepada raja, negara, atau organisasi yang sedang memperingati hari jadinya)". so, "Dirgahayu" just means "long live", thus the English equivalent of "Long Live the King". the next time you passed by one of those banners you can tell everyone in the car what that means.

so, if ever news camera was to approach you and ask you to wish His Majesty a Happy Birthday, you know what to do ;)

and as usual, one of the must yearly event here is the 'panjut' (oil lamps) festival competition by government agencies and communities in the district. they will usually turn kuala kangsar into a fairyland with a massive display of 'lampu panjut' (oil lamps) using bamboo as the receptacles, a common practice among perak malays to add festivity during the month of ramadhan. the 'lampu panjut' festival will be held for two days.

here's a pic taken the other day--

while this one that i snapped tonight--

although it was raining, but the rakyat (people) still went out either with family or friends to enjoy the great night views of kuale... well we'll see whether i wanna go out again tomorrow night, maybe to take better pics (?).

fyi too people, kuale really gonna be damn busy this weekend. the 'pesta ayor' (water sports festival) is on sunday. while malay college' OBW® 2008 is from 18 to 20 april, duh!... btw to all bebudak koleqs, welcome back!!! *grin*

Something to giggle ...

It giggles me when come to think about what happened last night. As usual, I went for my weekly yoga class with Shadiah at CF Subang, and soon after that relaxing sensation yoga, we went for a sauna session. This time around we decided to stay a little longer since the last sauna I went, my body did not promote any sweat. So it was a non-sweating session for me. It’s either the heat was low or maybe there’s something wrong with my body...

As most of us know that almost all places in our country offer women-only sauna, gender separated, and although nudity is not strictly enforced, the sauna "etiquette" has always been either with swimsuit@bikinis or cover with a towel.

So when we entered the steam room, it was only 2 of us. As sauna has always been a quiet place of healing, we had some good quiet conversation until a group of 3 came. Their loud conversation made us abruptly silent, so we decided to enjoy the steaming moment when one of them, unfolded her towel and bare-chested. We were like...???? A glimpse of it, I would say ... “if you want to show your boobs, at most, have it worth to look at... like Angelina Jolie’s maybe... if not, save it for your husband’s eyes only...”

What worth that night was a good giggle and feeling fresh.. my body that is, not the eyes..

Dear kuE, thanks so much of inviting me to be part of your project #36. Have a wonderful day and happy birthday dear!!!

A curious mind....

When I got a special invitation to blog on kuE's space....I kept wondering to myself ,what is it that I want to blog about here....do I write about myself, write about what I love most, write about what I believe in....etc etc etc.....to a point where I just told myself....LIN!!!!! JUST WRITE SOMETHING ALREADY!!!!! hehehehe! So here it is kuE....my humble post to your lovely blog.....am honored.....

Time: 2.50pm.....sitting in front of my PC, still haven't had lunch yet....stomach grumbling.....and checking my Yahoo and Facebook
mails .....If I am not mistaken, starting yesterday I played a new game on Facebook....called Scramble.....the only reason why I added the application was because I wanted to be able to exercise my brain once in a while in a word game or other mental games online that would need me to use my mental ability hehehe.....yesssss!!!! We do need to exercise our brains people!! It is as important as exercising our body.....I wouldn't want to get memory problems at an early age hahaha......nor do I want to get problems like Alzheimer when I get older.....I have observed over the years, a lot of old folks who are retired and just sit at home with no activities, who don't read much, don't talk a lot or get engaged in discussions, don't do any mental activities, do end up having memory problems as they get older and older......it's so scary you know....so I do try to remember and make it a habit to play Scrabbles, Scrambles or do some word puzzles, read books of any kind that suit my interests, even reading the Holy Quran is excellent for the brains according to some studies, simple math quizzes, just anything that could help me exercise my brain.....

It's never too late to start....and also must remember to always have a curious mind...the more curious we are, the more we want to learn and know about new things, the more our brain cells connect....and that's really good for us....don't let the brain cells fade away y'all...... :)

Last but not least....to my dear friend kuE....thank you so much for giving me this honour to blog for your project #36, I truly appreciate this opportunity............... and I wish you all the happiness in the world on your 36th Birthday celebration...may all your wishes come true...if not all, perhaps some will hehehe....

Lots of love and hugs from me.....

Tired but Excited

Today i rushed back to watch my fav tv show- Kawin Muda (at tv1 ,7:30pm). Seing Agha "bentak-bentak" sama isterinye Sera bikin gue happy bangat. They just look so cute together! Teringat me&hubby masa dulu. Hate each other guts till one day we realized that actually we are crazily in luv. Then after doing house stuff, i logged to my lap top to reply all enquiries in my business blogs.. Its pretty tiring. Later i shall continue to make those gift ordered by my future bride. I am telling u be a part time entrepreneur is very-very tiring however i am excited and really enjoy doing it. I wonder how the rest of OLD Club members especially a mother to few children manage to do it... They must be superb! I saIute u all! I wonder how do u do that kuE... Being Super Hot Mama with ExtraVaganza Talent & that great personality, U must be grateful. Happy Fabulous 36 years old beb!
:From OLD Club Members:

make people happy

i’ve done it. i’ve tried it and it does not work.

living to “make people happy” is really not a fulfilling way to live.

when i was in the people pleasing business i was miserable. mostly because i really did not know what it took to make people happy. i did what they wanted, but because they were NOT happy with themselves, they could not be happy because of something i did.

i have since learned that happiness must come from within. it’s how you see things, not necessarily how you do things.

since i am trying to leave the people pleasing business, i myself have become much happier. i have also attracted happy individuals to my circle.

true happiness comes from within, not from others. therefore it is nearly impossible to “make people happy”.

i would like to thank Kimi, Rose and kechik for their wonderful blog post. “terima kasih daun keladi” ek?

o yes... i just would like to highlight something on Rose' post. i have to edit a word there with an esterix (*). sorry people... take note that not everything about my life can be revealed in the blog ya... tqsm for the understanding.

well guys, i guess it won't be a problem at all for you to blog earlier or later than the assigned date as discussed. the most important thing for me is to get THE 36 counts w.e.f. 8 April 2008 until THE big day. now i realized that NOT everyone is as free as me though... so whoever has been invited by me, feel free to post something on my blog as a guest blogger whenever you wanna ;)

i never thought of having as many post as i can here in my blog (yea... its reaching 600th post soonnnnn...! ) with this idea. but its rather as a some sort of creating something different here in the blogosphere-- like yesterday even though i didn't post anything here, at least i updated something on my baking blog... peace!

birthdays... & more

hmm.. lemme see.. i can't remember when was the last time i celebrated my birthday. i can't even remember what i did on my birthday last year *hee*

on the 4th was my nephew's birthday.. and we had a mini bash for him at a quaint steamboat restaurant in SP named cengkih. that restaurant was located at jalan sekerat. not sekerat jalan.. but jalan sekerat.. the first time i drove there i burst out laughing.

darry (my nephew) probably had his first lesson on the reality of birthdays. the older you get.. the less pressies you get. i remember him getting tons &tons of things he didn't need but his face will glow seeing it being stacked up in his room..

this year.. turning 7.. he got a lot of things.. but mainly things he would use for school.. and grown up crocs... and bags.. you know.. less toys..

so he asked me..

"ateh, awat dd tak banyak dapat present dah tahun ni? tahun lepaih banyak saja dapat"

"ha la... dah besaq memang la kurang dapat adiah"

"awat?"

"ha la..takkan nak bagik toys lagi kot. dd kan besaq dah"

"ooo... abih tu.. opah tu.. dah tua.. tak dapat adiah dah laa"

and i can hear mama laughing hysterically from the next door...

Happy Birthday kuE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From KL with love :)

When i reached office earlier today, due to my early morning job, i have almost forgotten there's 'a task' i'm supposed to do. Luckily i've put a reminder on the mobile phone *phew* :) Many thanx to the technology, hehehe. Anyways, still dunno what to write actually :-/

Anyhow, this entry is my tribute to kuE's upcoming 36th birthday :) We 'met' few years ago in the cyberspace thru MCKK8286 forum, and decided to meet proper 2 years after that. Our first meeting place was McD in 1U :) She didn't come alone as she was chaperoned by Megat :D It sure was fun with Megat's non-stop 'pok-pek-pok-pek'. After that, we have tried to meet up a few more times with only 2 successful ones + 1 bonus when C & i stopped over at her ...* in Kuale. I only have myself to blame for being extra busy with mom & kids.

But kuE, you know that you're always on my mind friend :) To me, in good & bad times, friends are to be treasured & appreciated because i feel that my life is empty without friends. Thanx for being my on & off-line friend *hugz*

For your upcoming birthday kuE, here's me (together with C & our 4 diamonds) wishing you the followings:

To be under Allah's blessings always,
To have all the love, wealth & good health,
Hope all your dreams come true,
Blue Skies, Everything Nice :)

lotsa hugs,
Rose

On-Line friend

This post is a tribute to kuE, for her upcoming 36th birthday in the year 2008.

(This write up is from a dear friend of mine, who is to retire from work at the end of this year. He has been very "touched" with the fact that he will no longer see us daily at work. So he contributed this writing, for us to always be with him, even if it's just on-line. And I want to share this with all kuE's friend as well)

My On Line Friend, when I had some free time, what did I do? I checked the computer to see if I'd heard from you!

I used to walk out to a box to retrieve mail. But I'd rather get it instantly, than wait on the snail! Checking my e-mail is always fun! I usually get a joke or greeting from someone. I feel so blessed because on the other end, I know I've connected with a friend!

When I've had a hard day and need to share, Here I can find a friend who will listen and care. And to this friend I hope I've let them know That I am always there for them also! Isn't it a strange kind of bond we form? It isn't exactly like the "norm"!

That little joke or note, or just a simple "Hi", Could be like a ray of sunshine from the sky! So my online pals, this is dedicated to you, For all the smiles you have made anew! May our friendship continue to grow, And the warmth we feel continue to flow!

Always remember this... A smile is such an easy thing to pass along the way, Like a ray of summer sunshine, On a somewhat gloomy day!!

Thank you for being my Online Friend!!!

meeting the old and the new

i was at my former secondary school earlier for our OGA' AGM. nothing much to say as the response was okay LAH! it was rather disappointed that some OG not willing to come with the excuse of-- "busy". duh!... everyone are busy, but how on earth some people like us can still spare some time for this kinda activities huh?!!... i did 'membebel' (mumbling) before here anyway.

some people may not be like me though... i love my school sooooo much! dun ask me why. ya... maybe its written in the history that the school's main building was formerly belonged to a wealthy lady che' midah. then it became british resident's residence (1876). but still, whatever it is, i am not kidding you, i love my school very much no matter what! well i guess this is my one and only way to help the community.

i think my thoughts been realized by some of my former teachers and an auntie, whose also are old girls too. thus i have been selected as one of the committee members of our OGA 2008/10 8)

now here's some pics for your viewing pleasure--

me with my former teachers, pn hajjah zawiyah (former headmistress), mrs silva (english teacher) and cik hajjah nazipah (discipline teacher, now headmistress). i dunno the chinese lady, she simply wanna join us hehe...

the new committe members of MGS/GEGS/RPK* OGA 2008/10

"down memory lane with mrs n.c. partridge", the book i got from the lucky draw session.
i even felt more luckier when my name being called the first! yea...

kuE's note:
  • i am sure some of you people may wonder of why there's so many school names/initials stated above (*). i will explain about it more in my future entry, specially on my school's history.
  • i created a new group on facebook specially for RPKians. so for those of you old girls who eventually come across this, please join us there. or else if any of you people know any friends or family members fron the same school, do spread the word for us. tqsm in advance! your great help is very much appreciated. go here to join.

-----

i don't think i will be there tomorrow as i have more important things to attend to in kl next week insya allah. i just would like to wish all you KLites "Happy Freezing" ;-)

keep in better touch with friends & family

there’s always room for improvement, after all.

but, i have been doing a better job at this. not consistently, i might add. in fact, i still have some emails to which i need want to respond. overall, though, i’m happy with my increase in correspondence.

i must admit that Facebook has helped a bit i.e. here. it’s easy to poke and message people here and there, or upload a few photos. it works both ways… some people are hesitant to send too many emails to travellers, as they worry it takes up limited internet time. or they believe that they’re not doing anything interesting enough to warrant writing about. it’s surprising how much more aware i am of the goings-on in the lives of my friends and rellies on Facebook.

KL!!! freeze!

KL Freeze in Unison. 2.30pm. Sunday 13th April.
Where human beings get together to do something in unison, without speeches or reference to their age, colour, sex, beliefs and background.

.

They did it in London--

Also in New York City--

And also in Paris--

And we’re doing it in the heart of Kuala Lumpur!

Organised by RandomAlphabets.com and 3 Facebook groups
1. United Colours of Malaysia - The 1+2 Campaign
2. Improv Malaysia
3. Malaysia(n): Travel Affairs

.

Freeze is a ’mission’ introduced by Improv Everywhere. Those participating will go to a certain location (Freeze Point) and freeze for a few minutes. Just like in the youtube videos. That is all you do.

If you don’t understand that, then I hope you are not a registered voter.

.

We will meet at our Gathering Point 2.30pm (a location near our Freeze Point) for time syncronization and a quick briefing. Because this rooted from an international movement, you have to be punctual. Seriously.

Follow the time on this link. Time, to the second, is important. http://24timezones.com/world_directory/current_kuala_lumpur_time.php

Location for our Gathering Point will be revealed at 11pm on 11th April. It will be revealed on this event page, http://RandomAlphabets.com/ and private message only to those Attending and Maybe Attending.

It HAS to remain a secret till then. HAS to. Or all will fail and the Ring won’t make it to Mordor.

Don’t worry. It will be a place conveniently accessible by public transport. Bus, train, taxi and penyapu terbang.

KL Freeze in Unison

kuE's note:
so all you KLites, don't you think this is something exciting to join? some of you may say, "gila ke apa?". for me, definitely i will! ;)

*updated* on friday, 11 april 2008 @ 11.27pm

of good thingy about facebook

i was so surprised when i saw my cupcake pics up on my cousin fek's fb profile pic. i didn't really expect that at all ler...

anyhow fek's birthday was yesterday. fyi fek is my second cousin, whose also charlie's cousin. actually i dunno about her birth date, till i saw a birthday alert on my fb hehe... so i postponed my original plan of ipoh trip to yesterday since i wanna surprise fek. i baked the cupcakes in the morning. then i packed them nicely in a specially designed window box with ribbon that i made myself. the box was actually a store bought. i cut the top flap in to a window. after that i paste it with plastic and ribbon accordingly. go here to view the cupcakes pics. take note that i chose red and yellow as they are of fek's company corporate colours ;)

i left home for ipoh with my puteri and megat, after 3.30pm. unfortunately we didn't manage to see fek as her staff said that she was just left, when we arrived at her office in jelapang around 4.15pm. it was rather wet when we were approaching ipoh. if not the journey would normally take less than 30 minutes or so... at last we left the cupcakes with fek's staff. she was so happy with the surprises. i make sure not to load the cupcakes pic on fb before we left, cuz i was afraid if fek would knew it before we come. she dun read my blog, so it was okay for me to load the pics in my baking blog first 8)

on another note, mom was kinda shocked too that i knew fek's birthday. she did ask me about it that morning.

"apa lagi... 'penangan facebook' ler", i told her hehe...

she quickly added, "ok ler tu..." :)

One of Those Days......

Today is one of those days when I feel like I'm feeling down.

Not too sure why.

Could it be that it's that time of the month?

Or whether it's the last week for the semester, the fact that I won't see these set of students anymore (well, I'm sure to bump into them in campus.... but not anymore in my class, that is)?

Or the fact that my eyes are all swollen..... only to realised that I've been eating prawns the past 3 days (OK - let's be fair to my eyes....... My eyes have been swollen since Monday...... since mom brought back some Udang Galah from KK. And then, to top off the swollen eyes further, I had prawns, again, yesterday, when we had dinner at Italiannies; and the fact that I know I have such reactions to prawns but don't really care much about it because the temptation of eating prawns is much greater than my vanity)?

Or the fact that I've been having this annoying sore throat the past 2 weeks. Not so distracting during the day, but rather seriously annoying at night. The mega annoying thing about this sore throat is............. it wouldn't go away..... which reminds me (again..........) that I have to make that trip to see Dr.Sorethroat?

Or the fact that my PhD 2nd module one-week workshop is coming up again.... Next week, to be exact. The fact that I'm so behind schedule..... I've tonnes of literature to read, there's so much to do, there's way too heavy stuff to comprehend (what more understand) ............... there's so little time ............... arrrggghhhhhhhhh ......... why does this sound so familiar?

Or the fact that I'm just feeling under the weather........... and that...... right now, I just want to curl up in bed with a box of chocolates and the Astro remote control in my hands?

What could it possibly be?
Well, I guess.... it's just one of those days.............

But this day, is not just like one of those days.....
This day..... is different.......... it's special............. and I'll tell you why.

I received an email invitation and sms message from my dear long-distance friend, kuE, who had requested me to post something on her blog..... toward her PROJECT #36.

I feel honored and blessed that I've been given the opportunity to do so.
Thank you, dear.

kuE,

wishing you a splendid birthday............ and I hope and wish that all your hopes and wishes and dreams come true for you...... and do have a wonderful birthday party with your loved ones. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.............

With love,
Sweet Leilanie

P/s :
Sweet memories are made of these.........................

Q&As -- PROJECT #36

  1. how long is this project gonna be?
its started from yesterday until 13 may 2008.

  2. who is involved in this project?
i hope to manage to get/invite 36 guest bloggers of all walks of life from the day 8 april 2008, approaching to the big day, that is to mark my 36th birthday insya allah, god willing...

  3. how will this work?
i will invite bloggers to my blog, then it would be easier for them to post something just from their own blog. so there would be one guest blogger blogging each day, along with me hehe...

  4. since many bloggers are invited to this project, so what's the topic like?
no specific topic. thats the challenge here ;)

  5. is there any more chance if other bloggers would like to join?
there's still a few more openings. just email me.

  6. why is this project called as such?
simple! you know, i am going to be 36 this year... and that's also the reason i chose to invite 36 bloggers to be my guest here *grin*

-----

i hope that i have answered everything you wanna know about PROJECT #36. if there's anything more, holla me and i would be much glad to add it to the above.

i would like to thank Lydia Teh for being such a sport to be my first guest blogger for this project. read her post here. this shows that even though she's a well known housewife-turned-writer now, she still do not mind to do me some favour for this humble project of mine (take note that i said this with reasons, thus just let of what had happened will be turned accordingly by the karma *sob!*). i first met her at her honk! talk at the curve last year.

and now... last but not least, wish me luck ya y'all!...

of Mr Tax by Lydia Teh

It's that time of the year again. I don't like April because it's time to pay a visit to Mr. Tax. Those were the days when you'll get a thick white envelope in your mail box. Now you have to go to the Hasil department and get your form or download it from the website. Alternatively you can do your filing on-line. For two years I've tried this option. The first time I was required to go to the office to collect my PIN number. I think that's silly. The whole purpose of e-filing is to eliminate a physical trip to the tax office and we were supposed to pop in to collect the number! Forget it.

Last year I got the PIN number over the phone (or was it online?) and managed to access the income tax's e-filing portal. But the processing time was so slow it was like watching hair grow. I gave up after a few tries.

I've just sorted out our tax returns. It turned out to be easier than I expected. It's the same thing I go through every year. The mere thought of Borang B fills me with dread. But once I get started, the task doesn't seem so daunting after all. Doing the tax returns on Excel first does help, after which I transfer the figures over to Borang B. I think I'll give e-filing another shot. I hope it works this time.

P/S : Happy 36th birthday to kuE. May you stay happy and young in heart. Enjoy your thirties while you can. (Mine has gone with the wind.)

The negative aspects of the 8 soul urge are the often dominating and exacting attitude. You may have a tendency to be very rigid, sometimes stubborn.

Your Inner Dream number is: 11

An Inner Dream number of 11 means:
You dream of casting the light of illumination; of being the true idealist. You secretly believe there is more to life than we can know or prove, and you would like to be provider of the 'word' from on high.

of where kuE live...

this is basically where i live, of which is my hometown too--

can you see the railway station location there? our place is somewhere there ler... so if any of you people happened to be here, knock! knock! ler occay? ;)

eas some of you people may know, i am so glad of this wonderful royal town of kuala kangsar, in the state of perak, malaysia. i blog about it many times, like this one, or maybe i shall ensure to type in "kuala kangsar" in each post' label columns.

part of kuale's landmarks are like istana (palace) iskandariah and masjid (mosque) ubudiah and the recent one like jambatan (bridge) sayong. go to knizam's this blog entry for night views of the bridge. i found a wonderful blog post about kuale in this blog. it can be a very good guide for whoever wanna visit the town too. tqsm!

you know what people... its been so sad and shameful that some local people, mainly in other states especially, still dunno of kuale's location. well enough said if i answered to their inquiry, they know that its in perak, ok ler tu... but too bad they will happily said, "ohh... perlis?" duh!... like recently, a new bank officer that has been transfered to a local bank said the same thing. what a shame! worked in the bank industry some more... do i have to mention the name of the bank here? hehe...

a new online friend i met yesterday at scrabulous site, happily said that our country is-- "interesting, a place with lots of fish farming". fyi this is the main reason for this blog post. a former supervisor at a hotel i worked in subang jaya before, told us that his university mate in switzerland only knew about penang, when he mentioned about the country ;) well its better than nothing right. some knew us because of klcc. whatever it is find out more about malaysia truly asia from the tourism malaysia site here. there are even some special campaigns for visit states of terengganu, kedah and kelantan this year. so make sure you check it out ya... cuti-cuti malaysia...
