the day i felt like i was shopping in kl...

...but the truth is i was at queensbay mall in penang ;) the most important thing also, i didn't have to drive-in the town area as well. as soon as i reached penang island from the bridge, i just have to head to bayan lepas and within minutes... voila! i saw the mall already (click here to view the location map).

from what i understood, it is currently the largest, longest and most modern shopping mall in penang. like its tagline " it's all happening here!" , i could say that the place is really happening i tell you. besides that, the mall also located by the sea, just like gurney plaza. now... in terms of location, of course queensbay mall is much more easier, like what i mentioned earlier. although the anchor tenant is jusco, but most of whatever have in kl, are available there too i.e. shops like liz claiborne, guess, harvey norman, toy 'r us, and many more. the main point was we didn't even go to jusco lol... in fact we were so glad that the mall has its very own tgif outlet too. then of course we had our lunch there, after spending some time at borders. other than the things i love to buy/shop i.e. shoes, accessories, clothes etc., i also bought this book and this book. the reason for me to choose those books was that the recipes sounds easy and the illustrations looks yummy!!! hmm... we would definitely try to bake some soon and post about it in our other blog *drool*

our shopping trip to penang didn't stop there. then we stopped-by auto-city on our way back, just to have some ice-cream at my favourite ice-cream restaurant, swensens :D i seldom visit it ever since i came back here. i remember the last time we went to eat there was like many months ago, at its outlet in subang parade if i'm not mistaken. on other note, i would definitely go back to penang to do my shopping!!! ;)

the 36th years

my birthday this year falls on a weekday. so we just make do with a very simple, great and nice birthday with my two wonderful kids, my darling princess and my hero megat. that was so meaningful for me.

we headed off up north to penang around 3.40pm. we were lucky enough of not to get caught in the traffic jam cuz by the time we reached the penang bridge' toll plaza, it was almost 4.45pm only *phew*

guess what people... even though it was my birthday, but i leave it to my kids of where they wanna spend the big day with me. so just like the previous year, we went to queensbay mall again! well as you could see people, its certainly one of our favourite shopping malls, that's why hehe... i guess i have been talking about queensbay mall like dunno how many times in my blog right. surprisingly we didn't buy anything. in fact i also dunno what to get for myself. so kids also were strolling around happily with me without asking anything. it was my birthday remember? well for them, its kinda not fair to ask me to buy something for them on my birthday. owh... how sweet...

we had an early birthday dinner at none other than TGIF!... just a great place to wind down after a long week!

poor megat... he just recovered from fever and cough, where he didn't attend school for the whole of last week :(

look people... at how fast my puteri has grown ;)

that was my tossed tomato basil chicken hmm... i like...

this pic has been taken by puteri arghhh... do i look tired here :P

i would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you people for your birthday wishes via sms-es, emails, fb, etc. thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!

regards to the PROJECT #36, i don't think i have had enough 36 guest bloggers yet. to those who dunno, i was not well for the past one week plus or so, thus i didn't get the chance to follow-up anything on this. anyhow i guess i will still open this up till the 36 counts, to commemorate my 36th birthday this year. its kinda fun actually to have guest bloggers with all sorts of life and thinking, taking part in this project. so posh_post, since you have written a great review about me, would you like to join in too? i knew posh_post from SocialSpark. read more about it here and here. to those of you people who wish to be my guest blogger and contribute for my PROJECT #36, why don't you email me, and i would be much glad to add you too!

THE tick!

the tick

megat made us laughed earlier today at queensbay mall, in penang! well read on to find out of what had happened—

our last stop before we went back home was to order some pizzas to be tapau-ed. so while waiting for it to be ready, we walked to memory lane shop located just a few steps across.

then megat told me calmly while pointed to our right, "mama looked! the mall here has adidas, and tick also got".

i was like puzzled— "tick?", i asked.

"ya... tick!", megat repeated me. by this time, puteri and i were already looking at each other, then we both moved our view to the shop next to adidas'. we really can't help it then but laughed-out-loud hehee...

so can you people see of what we were laughing about? :D

sassari crocs: love at first sight!

we didn't go anywhere last weekend. but then we already decided to go over to queensbay mall this week for a wind-down sunday, only the three of us! as usual, we started our journey very early (this time before 9 am), so that we could get an easy parking.

one of the main reasons for us to go there were to get the latest 'in' thingy by crocs for puteri and naddy (who can't get the one she wanted in kl). so since we were one of the earliest to arrive at the mall, we head over to paddington house of pancakes first. then only we went up straight to crocs shop at level 2. although there were a family before us and there was only one sales girl at that time, to handle everything herself, i could say that she was so patience to entertain every each of her customers.

puteri smiled when she saw the white and fuchsia sassari. she immediately tried the display piece and she loves it. while i asked the sales girl for an all-black sassari in size 6 (for naddy of course). after that i asked her to take the same type of shoes in size 5. i tried them. gee... i thought they look so plain, but my feet look nice in them. i don't care, i just got to get them too. at last tadaa... i paid for four pairs! lol... including one disney crocs for megat.

i find that the sassari crocs shoe is the first croc shoe to feature a high heel. this womans wedge shoe combines
fashion with comfort, rather than those with holes. just look at the pics people... i am definitely right in my words ya? so as you could see, thats my sassari, while the two boxes in the background were puteri's (below) and naddy's. megat wore his right away! well in my opinion, i think kids are okay to wear the one with holes but not adults ;)

to my dear sheryl:
look at me sis, i have bought a pair of sassari crocs for myself too! not just for puteri hehe...

what we did last weekend

on that saturday

as soon as we arrived from kuale around 10.30am, my lil's sis brought us (puteri, megat and i) straight to cyberjaya for nickelodeon let's just play event. well at first when kids especially megat was informing me about that event many weeks ago (you know, kids... they knew it from the tv ads and so on), we didn't realize that the date was coincide with our cousin niki's solemnisation ceremony. so nearer to the date, we thought maybe we will bring the kids elsewhere. and let the older generations go to the kenduri instead--we always thought akad nikah (solemnisation ceremony) is for orang tua-tua (older people) hehee...

besides that lil's sis is the media planner for astro, so for sure she has to be there no matter what.

words can't describe of how great the event was. by viewing the slides, i am sure you could see that everyone had fun--its always true when we say pics are worth a thousand words. lil's sis warned megat of not to get himself wet duh!... as we gonna go to klpac after that for KLue urbanscapes.

fyi people i am doing two things at one time at the moment i.e. blog hopping while posting this ;) so i found that eyna brought her kids to the same event :) why ler kan... we always go to the same place (last time was penang if i am not mistaken, where you were in gurney while i was at queensbay on the very same day, remember?) but without knowing it that actually both of us were there at the same place or the surrounding area lol...

like i said earlier, we headed to klpac from cyberjaya. the event was awesome! urbanscapes was organised by KLue and it was the first and only all-day “user-generated” creative arts festival. urbanscapes aims to bring together communities and participants from the fields of music, arts, lifestyle, film under a single banner to showcase the best of the local scene. previous urbanscapes events took place in 2002 (grappa soho) and 2004 (kl sentral).

so as you could see, KLickr group was there. they showed off the 24 kl long-photos slides to public. so basically we were there not just to join urbanscapes but also to support my sis ;) view more of the event' pics here.

guess what people... we met natalie of hitz.fm! she's such a nice gal, very the kepochi hehee... thats why she's there at hitz ya... lol... although we first met her at queensbay mall last december, she was so surprised seeing us there at urbanscapes last saturday and talked like there's no tomorrow, as though we have known each other for so long :)

on that sunday

no own agenda; as we were to attend newly-married-cousin niki & wife yati's wedding reception in gombak. take note that we the young ones (ehemm...) didn't go for their akad nikah on saturday ;)

the above pic (taken by cousin muzmania whose also niki's bro) showed us with cousins nivin and liyana. i know some people in the blogosphere/cyberworld who adore muzmania... now you all know that he's my cousin :P hmm... btw its too late already ler, his wife's pregnancy will be due maybe july/august. i only have their pic taken here, or you can view more here.

well of all the collections of niki's wedding pics, i lurve this one the most. cuz... ya!!! another candid one by me! ;) please go to my fb album here for more pics. enjoy!

alvin & the chipmunks

we spent the whole day in queensbay mall and a part of our activities was watching the movie...

the chipmunks! megat keep telling me of how cute and nice is this movie even though he haven't seen this himself owh... you know kids. i have no clue seeing any cartoon about alvin... bacause i was confused with chip n' dale... that i love also! so anyway this cartoon actually begins and created in the 50s (wow!) by the late ross bagdasarian. as you could see, there are three chipmunks: alvin, simon and theodore (i like this cute name and character!) and the guy would be dave.

the cut the story short, its about a songwriter dave who wanted to write and compose songs and be accepted in a particular well-known company. ended up his music sucks and his and his music was not accepted till he met the three chipmunks that can sing very wonderful music. besides that they even can dance too! later on the chipmunks rock the world. unfortunately when theres craps here and there, the chipmunks follow ian the boss of the company. finally, they realized that ian is not good at all and yada-yada-yada... the chipmunks belong to dave again! guess what people... at first i thought it was just me but my sister also thought this movie was an animated movie lol...

haha... well no doubt, this is a must-see movie... just so adorable especially theodore... i love love loveeeee this movie... so cute!!! so naughty... ahahhaa... so what are you waiting for? watch it with your loved ones and have a fun christmas holiday!

6 more days to go...

yes! its gonna be 6 more days for us to celebrate our country's 50th national day. and when everyone are in the mood for it, i was kinda pissed-off looking at this...

hmm... why you asked? we were having lunch at a swensen's outlet in queensbay mall (again?!!)... lol. yea... the last time we went there was about two weeks ago. i guess its already in my list for one of my favourite shopping places ;)

alright, pic shown was megat's sourdough 49ers chicken. one thing for sure... why on earth they still stick those two tiny u.s. flags on the buns, when we are in the merdeka mood. ya... ya... i know its incorporated in the u.s. but i guess its not wrong right, if you would change the style according to our country's life, at least once a year. in fact i didn't even see any malaysian flag hanging in the premise. what happened guys?

some how or rather, i was A BIT happy when i got the chance to have my favourite dessert there, apple crumble. i admit. but still, look out there... our country's flag were hanging everywhere--

1. juru toll plaza at PLUS highway

2. R&R at gunung semanggol

...and many more. sad to say that i can't seems to take more pics as my oly was out of battery. dammit! i should have check the night before but i forgot :P

anyhow, i hope that the management of the local swensen's should look into this matter seriously.

p/s like i mentioned before, do not forget to watch this via tv3 on the 28th (tuesday), at 9pm. if i'm not mistaken, the telemovie's trailer appeared on tv already ;)

to my dear sheryl: sorry sis, your size were out-of-stock, except for the one white/fuschia sassari, that you already have ;) i'll try again in about two weeks.

may 13 story

eventually i thought of posting this last night, but i was too tired ;)

we arrived home from queensbay mall in penang almost midnight. we really spent the whole day to ourselves yippeee!!!... we went out since morning you know. since it was my birthday and also the mother's day, we brought mom along this time. it seems dad got some other more important errands to run to :(

i won't tell much here as i have quite a number of pics to do the talking :D the most important thing for me is that i was so damn happy that i spent my most precious time with my two wonderful children. my loved ones from near and far called both our land-line and my mobile non-stop since early in the morning. just imagine, after two or three calls to the land-line (i answered my own mobile), megat would say this when there's another-- "okay mama, i know that's for you." lol...

here's some of the sms' that i received yesterday. i am putting them here also, just for my record ;)

DIY and save a bomb!

every morning, my N76' alarm clock and i fight. it plays its obnoxious great song (thats what Mr Z said) starting at 5:38 am and continues between every five-minute snooze break until i bring myself to get out of bed. sometimes i lie in bed and think of reasons not to get up. but my brain has learned that i have to be awake on time no matter what for the sake of my children. if not this daily struggle to crawl out from underneath the warmth of my covers will definitely causes me to be in a perpetual state of running-late.

after all my one true lifesaver has been my discovery of headbands.

i've unsuccessfully attempted headbands my entire life. i've gone through phases but they've never really been my thing until recently. a few months ago, i bought a quilted black headband at forever 21 in queensbay mall for like RM15+ (?) because it was rather cheap, looks comfortable and can matched with anything i wear. ever since then, it has been love. i can wash my hair the night before, get up the next morning, straighten it, and throw on a headband in less than 15 minutes and i look stinkin' amazing!

i have also noticed tons of celebrities wearing them on and off the red carpet. they are a great way to glamorize up-do's without the drama of a tiara. headbands are a god-send to us snooze-hitters too because they keep hair out of our eyes and oily roots under cover. plus, they are way cuter than baseball caps!

i don't know about you but i value every opportunity to sleep just a few minutes later and seize every chance i get to look fabulous. so, try a headband (if it matches your purse, even better!). you may find them as a great reason to hit snooze and just another way to be GORGEOUS!

unfortunately this morning i found that it has been ruined when i forgot to bring it down from the car. part of the insert lace layer was torn off maybe because of the direct sunlight. so instead of throwing it away and buy another, i fixed it myself and save a bomb! i went in, took-out my glue gun and waited for few minutes. once its hot, i slowly placed the glue at the lace layer that already came out. i have to hold the lace and headband between my fingers for a while to ensure that it sticked in firmly. then tadaaa...

i can wear this favourite headband of mine with the gorgeous look (ehemm...) again without any single sen! hehee...

megat is 8!

i slept very late and was awaken by some knocking on my room door around 7.30 am.

"whose that?", i asked.

"mama's birthday boy", megat answered.

i was like... haa?!!... i looked at the time at my fon. gosh... its already 7.30!!! but i only had less than three hours sleep. i unlock the door. megat entered, then he hugged me so tight, followed by kisses. he's really a mama's boy. i wished him happy birthday.

"okay mama, i'll see you later".

unfortunately i didn't get ready yet. i went back to bed and continued to sleep another hour lol... i came down almost 10 am, when everyone were about to arrive. auntie yan brought chicken pie and honey cake. while enda teh brought cream puff (my fav!) and my mother cooked chicken rice. as you could see, i baked the birthday cake myself. now you all know of why i slept very late ;) i didn't even wanna take pics of myself as i really looks like zombiesss!!! lol...

i went in to my room maybe around 1.30 pm and slept right away, after i threw my helpless body on the bed. i heard the sms alert tone minutes later. i checked my fon. i tried to read the sms but i can't because my eyes were really weak. when i awoke at 5.50 pm, i saw that my last sms checked was still there... it was from kimi. thank you so much. also sorry for not replying you sis. i have informed megat, and he said thank you too. o yes... not forgetting CK, thank you for the wish too sis.

guess what people. my initial plan was to go to queensbay mall in penang, after we had the brunch. what to do... bummer! i can't help myself... anyhow i went to ipoh yesterday with my mom and megat. he got to choose his own birthday present, like what he said, "i am already big and know what i want". megat chose spider-man 3' electronic web spinning blaster.

"happy 8th birthday my dear darling megat... mama wished you all the best for many more years to come... luv, mama!"

i would also like to wish my cousin totam, a happy 24th birthday. what a co-incidence he shared the same birthday with megat. i'll see you when you come back for holiday tomorrow. fyi totam is studying medical in medan. eventually he was in ukraine before. he was not allowed to enter the country when he wanted to go back there the last time. what we could say is it was dangerous too... its all now history.

kuE's new toy!

currently listening (one of my favourite for the time being): pecinta wanita by irwansyah.

check this out people--its my new olympus fe-230! i bought it yesterday in penang, as my own 35th birthday present ;)

well actually i didn't even thought of getting one yet. the outing on sunday was just meant for a 'jalan-jalan' on my birthday and mother's day. but tell me who can't resist not to buy anything on a trip as such huh?!! lol...

puteri and i were walking around, when we passed a camera shop on second floor (i think) of queensbay mall. i stopped there and fell in love at the first sight of that olympus fe-230. what attracted me were the features like its slim size, its metal body, about 2.5" LCD screen and also its reasonable price. what when the shop was giving special price for mother's day. i approached one of the salesgirl. i kinda more interested when i found that the camera was so light... and presto! it should be no problem at all for me to place that in my handbag, to bring it along where ever i go.

so from now on, you will see me taking pics with this new toy of mine ;) maybe on certain occasions that i will still use my nokia 6680 to snap pics like... argghhh... no need for me to elaborate, go figure! :D

pastasia

i guess i am missing blogging so much, that i keep myself busy trying to blog from pastasia, queensbay mall while waiting for our food to be served for our brunch. take note that this is our first time here. i am actually with my two sisters and kids. we are here with no particular reasons, just jalan-jalan, but for me especially to wind down after some hard days work since the reopen of our premise.

we bought some movie tickets at gsc as soon as we arrived around 11 am. the movie only starts at 12.20 pm. so thats what make us here. this place is located in an open area on the first floor, thats escalators down from gsc which is on the third floor. besides that, most of other f&b outlets are available in kl. this one can also be found at gurney plaza too. wokay lor people... foods here, time to eat as i am lapor giler :P

kuE's note:
pic taken from my N76 this time. i forgot to bring my oly! wahhh... well i will see when my sis have upload her pics to flickr later, then i can just kidnap some from there shh...

moonstone -- stone of emotional balance

when we were in penang last sunday, we never let go the chance to drop-by none other than queensbay mall... yay!!! unfortunately the situation was not the same this time as there was my nephew didin with us. he was the hyper type argghhh!!!... i had to use the child rope/string to tie his hand with mine :| he only sat still during the disney magic show ler... i guess that must be my first and last time for me to bring him out haha!...

so we only went for lunch at the chicken rice shop, although we were so wanted to go to tgif. but when we wanted to go back, i saw that one of my favourite shops there, serene was on sale. there were signs of 50%!!! so i was like, "wow!!! i gotta have them. its the chances that we can't let go!". as you could see i am not that fan of gold so much. i prefer silver or gemstone. apparently, you could count of how many gold items in my collection in one hand only lol... grandmother took didin from me and asked him to sit outside a video shop next to serene. he watched the cartoons there. thank god!

i fell for blue moonstone bangles (refer right pic below). before that i bought a green stone (i can't remember the name of the stone -- not jade) earring at RM30+ only (after 70% discount). what a good price huh?!! when i was about to take out my money, then only i saw the blue moonstone in the glass display counter. i tried a few. then wore the round one right away! it costs me at RM300 only, after a 50% discount. it was definitely a good price. the chinese lady that entertained me was so nice and helpful. i like her. but i dunno her name ;) she explained to me the descriptions of the blue moonstone in details. mom told me that a chinese guy from the shop told her that the lady is a geologist. it seems even the guy also dunno much like her. no wonder she knows everything about gemstones! jusk ask... she could answer you instantly i tell you! hehe...

now i shall write about the stone as what i have been told by the chinese lady. i hope that i won't miss anything lol...

color: white

usually milky with a bluish or yellowish tint. translucent with white, pink, yellow, soft sheen.

metaphysical:

moonstone helps to soothe and balance the emotions. they assist in the master of your emotions by bringing them under control of your will, instead of repressing or expressing them. moonstone represents the great mother goddess. her strength lies in her gentleness, and her ability to experience, process, and neutralize her feelings.

a stone of wishes, intuition, and balance. helps all be more comfortable with our gentler feminine side. brings to you all that is needed.

discernment:

"want" and need" do not come from the same place. moonstone can assist you in absorbing those things that are “needed” in life while helping you discern what is merely “wanted”.

some people think that moonstone is strictly a feminine stone, because it is associated with a woman's monthly cycle. but nurturing, gentle care, and unselfish humanitarian service is not simply a female attribute.

moonstone can unblock those feelings in both men AND women who are afraid to acknowledge or experience consciously how they feel on a personal and internal level.

this is a great stone for doctors, nurses, technicians, and other health care workers, who sometimes feel they must repress much of what they feel in order to function more effectively, at the expense of gentleness that comes with empathy and compassion.

it will bring emotions and feelings under ones control without becoming hardened to the human suffering they see on a daily basis.

moonstone will help achieve a balance between heart and mind without losing the gentleness and caring needed, yet keep it in check to allow you to function effectively.

moonstone can come to the aid of many executives, who have sacrificed feeling emotionally connected to the people that work for them in an effort to function more efficiently, only to find that his employees now are difficult to work with and have little loyalty because of his detachment. you can rebuild a caring environment while maintaining order by allowing yourself to get in touch with the emotional aspects of management.

unhappy workers who feel you are distant and detached are not productive employees. slip a piece of moonstone in your pocket to remind you to take the time to ponder decisions from all aspects.

in the eastern cultures, moonstone was favored for LOVE. they believed that wearing or carrying a moonstone would bring a new love into your life. they also believe that holding a piece of moonstone over their hearts after a quarrel, and then exchanging the stones with each other, would bring you back together.

like moss agate, malachite, and jade (click here to view mine that i bought from my beijing trip), moonstone is associated with gardening. all four are attributed to nature, water, and fertilization. wear during planting, weeding, or watering, and visualize your garden bursting with fertility as you work. hang a small wind chime and dangle these stones over your garden, or bury a few small pebbles in the earth.

because of the way it travels thru the zodiac, moonstone is also considered a protective stone while traveling, especially at night or on the water. the perfect stone for swimmers, sailors and going on vacation cruises.

many people who work with tarot cards, runes, crystal balls, medicine cards or any other type of divining tool, keep a moonstone with them to heighten intuition and perceptions while working with them.

moonstone fosters happiness, gracefulness, good fortune, hope, spiritual insight, easy childbirth, safe travel on water, new beginnings and adjusting to changes, abundance and ancient wisdom. especially for water signs. motherly love, support, encouragement.

  • this stone gets us in touch with our feelings and is linked with the moon.
  • moonstone is protective of women and nature, and is a sacred stone of the moon goddess.
  • new beginnings, re-birth.
  • absorbs pain and illness.
