the test

puteri's ballet test, grade 3 ~ 23 mar. '06

i was not in the office for two consecutive days, people! yesterday i went to bring my puteri to ipoh for her ballet test. while the day before i was in prai for a seminar-cum-meeting with our rsm. so it was basically about work work and work.

yesterday's was more pleasure i guess hehe... we (puteri and me) headed straight to coffee bean for breakfast as soon as we reached ipoh. i then sms
Leilanie to be my guest blogger. read her post here. well, i guess once in a while, we have to create something different yea...

we went to the dance centre at 10.30am. puteri's ballet teacher ms tan did her hair as soon as we arrived. i was supposed to meet V after i send puteri to the dance centre. unfortunately he was still in kl, still stuck on some stuff. that was fine with me i think because i was the one whose gabra giler, my heart beat was beaten so damn fast. while i saw puteri like so relaxed. puteri and her team went in the dance hall at 12noon. they completed exactly before 1pm *phew*. like past years, we didn't go straight back home, but we dropped-by some malls in ipoh- it was also a mother-and-daughter day out! now i leave you all people with some of the pics that i took yesterday ;)

here's ms tan, doing puteri's hair.

nice bun, huh?!! ~ it was puteri's.

puteri and her team with ms tan.

puteri and her two friends waiting anxiously for their turn ;)

"its time to go in girls", ms tan said. she kissed every each of them on their cheeks, while wishing good luck.

kuE's note: if i didn't post anything for this few days, that means i will be in marina cove resort in teluk batik, lumut for a family day with the perak region friends. i promised that there will be more pictures! so to all you too people, have a nice and great weekend! mwahhh...

the pimple

puteri just called me, asking me to bring her to a local supermarket. after several questions, then only she told me that she was worried about a pimple on her forehead. yes i saw it when i fetched her around 5pm at her school earlier. i thought she don't care lol... btw i found this link on how to pop a pimple ;)

gadis puteri perak
(pic courtesy of ministry of culture, arts & heritage of malaysia)

the prime minister of NZ, the rt. hon helen clark is visiting our country now. she will also visit puteri's school (thats also my former school) tomorrow. puteri has been chosen to be a gadis puteri perak, who will be greeting (helen) clark upon her arrival. now you know of why puteri was worried about her pimple ya... besides that i know puteri is kinda nervous too for tomorrow. even the sultan of perak was there this morning, to do some inspection :)

as a mother, i am glad to help the teacher to make a ballerina bun hairstyle for puteri, although maybe it won't be as good as this hehe... then they will decorate it with some cucuk or pacak sanggul. the other girl wears hijab, so they do not have to worry about that.

to my puteri, its alright dear, you will be fine. mama wish you the best of luck mwahh...

kuE's note:
do not forget to tune in to tomorrow's local tv news people and you will see what i mean ;)

chapter one

puteri told me yesterday night that her science teacher puan s stopped her when she (puteri) were walking by the teacher's room. of course puteri was puzzled at first, dunno what on earth happening.

"puteri, kuih yang cikgu awak dapat hari tu awak yang bagi kan (puteri, you are the one who gave your class teacher the biscuit that day right) ", puan s asked puteri.

"ha ah", puteri replied.

"siapa buat (who did it) ", the teacher asked again.

"saya dan mak saya (my mom and me) ", said puteri.

"nanti awak bagitau dekat mak awak yang saya nak dua, nanti saya bayar (please tell your mother that i would like to have two, i'll pay later) ", said puan s again.

oikk... i was stunned. i guess puteri's class teacher must have given some to puan s. well what do you think people (attn:
kimi). is this the new beginning? ;)

think young

most of the shops at kinta city already closed. i was still waiting for my gifts to be wrapped by the shop lady at lovely lace. actually i already went to the shop earlier to buy the gifts that i wanted. i left the gifts there for them to wrap it for me. then i went to mph where puteri and megat were there, searching for a birthday gift for puteri's ballet friend. about 9.45pm, we went back to lovely lace, the shop lady still haven't finish wrapping my gifts. puteri and megat just waited outside. i dun want megat to break another stuff cuz he used to do that last time. i have to pay them more than RM30. anyway i bought two items yesterday i.e. one for a friend's sister' wedding this saturday night and another is a birthday gift for my mom. the one for my mom are so cute that i bought another set for myself. hehe... it's always like that. if i find the gift that i bought for someone nice and i like it too; so i just buy another for myself ~ 1 4 u n 1 4 me lor... i know mom will like it also as she's so into butterfly like me! the only thing is hers are green (her room is green) while mine are blue (my fav colour, also the theme colour of my room). well... i waited there another 1/2 an hour. when megat felt that i've took so much time there, he went in and mumbling to me for being so long there. i just asked him to wait for a while. hmm... i am a nice lady. i didn't even scolded them for making me waiting there. at least they kept saying the magic words that makes me cool down... the shop lady went out of the counter and gave the stuff that i bought personally to me and said sorry again and again and again...

suddenly when the shop lady saw megat, she was stunned, her eyes popped-out lol. no lar... she looked at me so deep inside my eyes.

"why", i asked the shop lady.

"this is your...".

"son. o yea... this is my son".

"your son? are you sure".

"yes", i told the shop lady.

"your first one?".

"nope. he's my second one, 6+. the first one is a girl, 11 years old, outside there", i replied while pointing my right thumb to puteri.

"ohhh... so wonderful. i thought that you are not married yet. oh my god... how old are you. 20's?".

i just smiled at her. then she talked mandarin to another girl in the shop, telling her about me and how that she was so surprised when she knew the actual me.

"so how old are you", the shop lady asked me.

"30 plus. err... 33".

"oh my goddd... i thought that you are 25!".

i smiled at her again before we left the shop.

well oh well... do i really look that young? i always put myself as a young lady anyway. i believe that it's good if i practise it that way... feels, think and live young! anyhow i've used to people who asked me questions like that especially when i go out with puteri. people always mistaken us as sisters. one thing funny... there's once when puteri went out with her wan chik and cik wah to one of the shopping malls in kl. it seems that the sales girl thought that puteri is my sister' daughter. when they left the shop, my sister told puteri jokingly of do not walk along with her anymore next time. she asked puteri to only go out with me instead lol...

we went to ipoh in the afternoon yesterday to watch
the chronicles of narnia: the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. 3.05pm show was fully booked so i bought tickets for the next show instead. as usual megat was so talkative while watching movies, asking me so many stuff. anyway i really should have gone straight home and written this posting instead of the following day (now) however, i am sure i can still describe accurately just how phenomenal this movie is. obviously, for those of you that have read the books, this movie brings back memories of a simpler time when we were kids (which i presume is when most people read these books). the movie sticks close to the original story penned by c.s. lewis – known for this series as well as various books on christianity.

this flick has something for everyone. the soundtrack is amazing and made the hair stand up on my arms at times. special effects are top notch – recreating narnia with all its characters including mr. tumnus – a minotaur, the great aslan – the king of narnia as well as other mythical creatures including centaurs, phoenix(‘s?), chimeras, unicorns, etc. the young actors portraying the young hero’s and heroines of this story are not only talented but simply delightful as well. simply put – go see this movie. you will not be disappointed.

dup dap dup dap

the above title really tells of why on earth i haven’t up-date my blog for quite some time. puteri sat for her first day of 3-days UPSR exam this morning. she looks so damn cool. on the other hand, i was the one who felt so nervous. i dunno why. maybe when every time i saw her, i would also think that “my darling princess who was my normal-born baby about 11.5 years ago is now also my teenage girl”. most of her sizes are bigger than mine now i.e. her vital-statistics except that i am still a bit taller than her. more over when she told me last week that she wished to change her hair-style after her exams— from straight to curly. “ohh… it really shows that she’s getting older and knows what’s best for her”, i thought to myself.

i received sms from
Leilanie, wishing her good luck. unfortunately puteri was already somewhere in the school compound. thank you dear. i’ve told puteri when i fetched her from school anyway. she said thank you and hugs back to you.

“kuE… my wishes and good luck goes to PU3 today and the next few days of her UPSR exams. hugs to her…”

even both my sisters were here during the weekend to give a full support for puteri before her exams today.

i went to ipoh last saturday with puteri and grandma. the main reason was to get some fabrics for the coming hari raya. wow... its gonna be raya soon. how fast the time past. i guess its just like a few days ago when i posted about getting fabrics for
last hari raya. so did you realize that megat didn’t follow us? he has to stay at home for about two weeks since last friday. he complaint that he was ‘dedo’ ~ pronounced 'the' and 'door' (perak word for warm body temperature, almost fever). i gave him the children’s chewable-cherry-flavour panadol tablet with hope that he will be okay by the next morning. when i checked on him the next day, his temperature was a bit high. alright, so i thought it’s just a normal fever that i didn’t allow megat to go to school. i was having breakfast with grandma when suddenly megat showed his body with a few red-spots. grandma thought that he was having miscles. fine. megat followed me when i wanted to fetch puteri in school. we went straight to the clinic. with only a glance, the doc said that megat is actually having chicken-pox auww... we were kinda worried though for puteri as she is having her exams this week. puteri never had this yet.

last two saturdays were spent in ipoh too by watching movies with kids—
click (19th) and monster house (26th). sorry people, no time to write some reviews on this. what i could say is that we really enjoyed the movies so much. its nice to watch with the kids.

trained them from young

this actually happened last week. but it took me sometime to post it here as (you know...) i was damn busy like a bee with kids and work. at the meantime i took the chance to draft this post in my mind lol.

we were on the way back from school one day last week. puteri told me that some of her school friends never and/or do not even know some light, simple and basic house chores. she was kinda surprised. i explained to her that maybe her friend's parents employed maids that's why. anyhow, i also told puteri that whatever it is we as females in the family have to know and do some simple works at home. we can't just depends on other people. those are for our own good, not for the benefit of others. i am glad that my puteri understand my explanation very well. so that means it was okay for her to do and helped me with some of the house chores. we do not have maids at home. we did all the works together including my grandmother, parents and my kids.

guess what people. some people were shocked when we answered to their questions about us having maids. serious. we never employ any maids at all. even during my marriage life in kl before too. maybe people were surprised cuz they knew we live in a big bungalow house. but without maids (?) lol.

for puteri, she will make her bed every morning herself. she also has been trained to make sure that her wardrobe is neat- clothes folded and hanged properly. puteri also already has the habit to wash her own plates everytime after meal. she will even helped us to wash some of others sometimes. every saturday morning is the time for her to wash her school shoes. she has done this since she was eight years old. while i will do it for megat. in fact megat knows that he will do the same soon. besides that, i did the laundry myself every early morning. now you know why i wakes-up at 5am daily. but on weekends, i would normally do that together with puteri.

as you could see, i am proud that puteri could be independent in case we have to be apart. like i told puteri, not to curse or tease her friends who dunno anything about house works. in this case, its just like 'mind your own business'. in other words, different people got different style of trained their generations. in the end, we could see of whose who is better among all ;)

lots to tell about 3/3

/3...

oh yes... before anything else, let me tell you all people that puteri finally got her upsr exam result last thursday. i really felt bad when i had to attend our last meeting on the taiping zoo project on the very same day. our meeting ended around noon. then only i realized that puteri sms me her results. she got 2As and 3Bs, alhamdulillah... i am so proud of her, no matter what. i quickly sms dad and asked him to fetch megat, while i would fetch puteri. i drove calmly, can't wait to see my puteri. i was kinda nervous in the morning but when i saw her that afternoon, she looks really relaxed instead i tell you.

i was lucky that i had to be in taiping during the weekend. we reached there on friday, after puteri's ballet class. talking about ballet, puteri got A for her last ballet test. i guess i forgot to post about it few months ago ;)

back to the taiping story, i said that i was lucky because i always tried my best to take the chance to have some extra times with my kids too, especially when we organized any community programme. i did the same last weekend. saturday morning was the launching of our project with taiping zoo. there was also a community programme held in the zoo premise, in collaboration with the zoo's officers. my sister was our lens woman. she came with my parents that morning. that event also was featured in today's papers. besides that i also introduced my mom to dr kevin lazarus, the zoo director. my mom happily told dr kevin that she heard a lot about him on tv and papers hehe...

kuE's note: pic above was taken at the taiping zoo by my sister, edited by karl, le drôle de français ;) as featured in her flickr account. can you guess what was the pic all about?

both my kids were so happy that day joined together with the orphanage that we brought from changkat jering. megat was so excited when we planned to go for the night safari. at first we wanted to go on friday night but megat felt sleepy very early. so the next day (saturday) we extended our stay at seri malaysia. we were already tired by the time the event finished. we went back to the hotel for a quick shower. besides, who wants to go around the town with my uniform right lol. after we had our meal at mcD (upon kids request), i brought them to the museum. that was their first time. at least they learned so many things from the trip there.

pic taken at the museum, by puteri

instead of going back to the hotel, we went to air cool shop in kamunting. actually i've been longing to install this for my 4wd for months. then i thought since the company has a dealer in taiping too, why not right. i spent about RM700. at least now i don't have to worry about driving in the hot sun no more ;)

we went back to the hotel to get some rest. by the time i woke-up, it was about 7.30pm. megat was sleeping too. i managed to wake him up. unfortunately it was raining that night. so we decided to go to the night safari on some other time. its not strange as taiping is well-known as the wettest place on earth. then we decided to just go out for dinner. we went to doli and have her famous fried kway teow. so if you come over to taiping, make sure that you never missed this. its one of the famous in town.

hmm... finally... i guess i've already summed-up everything by now in all the three parts post. i hope that i didn't miss anything :D

don't cry my baby

i make both puteri and megat cried yesterday huhu... its all just because i gave the shortbread biscuit for auntie yan's birthday (their bah i.e. grand-auntie) that morning with my mom. initially they wished to send it together with me but too bad they didn't let me know. thus i assumed that they do not bother. i should have asked and confirmed with them earlier. i am so sorry dearies, i won't do it again.

we baked the shortbread biscuits the night before. it was the same one like what we did for
megat's teacher except that i wrote "happy birthday" with the butter icing on it, along with a butterfly. yes it was auntie yan's birthday yesterday.

i went out to town with mom yesteday morning to get a birthday present for auntie yan. then we went to auntie yan's place. unfortunately both auntie yan and hubby were not in (padan muka, tu lar nak buat surprise konon lol) . we went back to town to settle some errants. when it was almost 11.45am, we went to auntie yan's hubby's work place (he should be in by that time) to ask him of her whereabout. yippee... she was not far from us. we were told that she was at one of the hair-saloon in town. so we went there and surprised her with a present and the shortbread biscuit. how happy we were that she was really surprised.

"wah... sedap ni, balik boleh makan", she said.

from there, we fetch megat and puteri from school.

as soon as we reached home, puteri asked me, "where's bah's biscuit?".

"i have already surprised bah this morning", i replied.

"what lar mama. i wanna send it to her too with you and adik", puteri said. she cried.

this followed by megat while crying, "adik also wanna send it to bah".

i felt down-hearted and sad too. mom suggested them to make a hand-made birthday card for their bah after lunch. then i could bring them to see their bah after megat's mandarin tuition class. it was so hard to please them you know. puteri went upstairs into her room, continued crying. everyone were so quiet during lunch.

about an hour before i fetch megat, i asked puteri to freshen herself. she was still down-hearted, doesn't want to go. so i asked grandma this time. we were already in my 4wd. suddenly my fon rang. it was puteri. she changed her mind! i was sooo happy. we were at auntie yan's place until 9 something. grandma told auntie yan about the incident ;)

disney on ice 2006

caution: although this post is not that long, but it's gonna be quite a number of pictures. be patience people unless if you use broadband hehe... i love to share them with all of you people around the world. it really shows of how happy we were yesterdy!

the weekend is over. it was one of the best one indeed. kids still dunno about my plan until when we were almost reached the stadium putra bukit jalil, when megat saw the disney on ice' banners on the street lights pole. he was very excited. well puteri as a big girl now did some right guess' earlier, but all my other beloved cousins just make dunno to her questions hehe... tqsm cousins for helping me ;)

as we all know, anything that got to do with disney productions would surely be the best. that include this one. no doubt about it. the show was tremendously wonderful i.e. the props, the costumes, everything you name it. they were absolutely gorgeous. no wonder some people still adore disney' even when they were all grown-up like leilanie (click
here) and also me hehe... i bet some of you people out there are among us too ;)

i do not have to say much about the show because "pictures paint a thousand words"-

"snow ice" (disney' version of 'ais kepal' hehe...)

a self-taken pic of us

megat as woody of toy story ;)

i like this part a lot. it makes me felt like i was in the fairy tales.

here's puteri and my cousin liyana (puteri's auntie) during the 15-minutes break.

fiesta...

everyone love them

puteri, megat and liyana were among the kids and adults down there, taking the chance to shake-hands with the disney characters :)

Zzz... i love this shot. they were all flatten within minutes, when we were on the way for lunch.

our very own version of nicole and paris hehe... hungry!!!

kuE's note:

1) to my dear rose- if you happened to read this, it is alright for me that you can't make it this time. i was there for one night only anyway. i'll be going back to kl again sometime next month. see ya' around yea, mwahhh... fyi i enjoyed my saturday night with my cousins
winnie, oyeen (she's a stewardess with MAS and a part-time model, also appeared in quite a number of local TV ads) and some of my former colleagues ;)

2) puteri mentioned that she could imagine the skaters feeling when they were performing the show, especially the one that didn't wear any mask. they have to smile all the way from the start no matter what. same goes to puteri when she was doing her ballet dance. it was more important for her to smile during her ballet test, if not she won't get any extra points. we will know the result (puteri's recent ballet test) within this few months.

my puteri & upsr 2006

upsr 2005 exam results that came out yesterday really makes me nervous. i dunno why. its not that i kave a kid that sat for the exam. my puteri only will faced hers next year. in fact my heart-beat started to beat so damn fast already. when is this gonna end? *phew*

i read leilanie's post this morning regarding her son's achievements. congratulations kawan! double kudos to emil too for the 5As. puteri is in kl now enjoying her school holidays. i just finished talking to her on the fon. she told me that my auntie nabilah (puteri's grand-auntie) got 3As and 2Bs for her exam. congratulations to you too, nabilah.

i never send puteri to any tuition class but i supports her by sending her to the extra classes organised voluntarily by her school teachers. besides that i bought (and will still carry on to buy) work books for her. we do it together unless i asked her to revise some of the hard stuff with her teachers in school. i also started to check-out links on upsr topics. i know this is hard especially for a single mom like me. whatever it is we'll prove to everyone that we could do it. anyhow from years ago, i've promised puteri that i will bring her for a holiday in down under (yes... australia) if she could do 5As. insya-Allah ;)

this is a special message for my puteri... good luck & all the best for your upsr 2006!

first day

today is definitely not the first day of the year 2006. its the first day of schools lor... as what i understand from david, its the first day of schools for vancouver too. sorry, i'm not sure whether its for the whole canada as well. he can't comment anything here because he dunno that i have my own personal blog. in fact we have one together. maybe i'll tell this personally to my closed ones like leilanie, rose, sheryl etc. this is damn important as david really cannot know about this at all!

anyhow megat looked so damn nervous this morning. that was his first day of school in standard one. as usual, he would asked me so many q like why he has to wear the singlet, why can't he not tug-in his white shirt blah blah blah. hmm... i guess rose knows what i meant kan kan kan huh?!!... megat used to wake-up early so 6.30 is ok for him. besides i've already informed this to him wayyy months ago. he was so excited when i gave him a RM1.00 note for his duit belanja. i didn't wait for him in school. he just requested me to go there during recess time with excuse that, "i dunno how to use my money yet". i know its hard for him to cope with the new environment. its different from his kindy life. i told him that previously alan che che would served everything for him and the rest of his school-mates during makan but this time he has to find his way all by himself. i bought
buku wang saku for him and puteri, in order for them to learn how to save money from now. megat didn't write his yet. i promised to teach him after i come back.

for my puteri, she managed everything herself. puteri is a big girl now, just turned 11 last 17 december. what i'm most afraid of is the upsr exams for her this year *duh*. i would definitely try my very best to help puteri to venture into her standard six life all year through. may she would be blessed with flying colours :D

awrite... didn't go anywhere yesterday. already told kids much more earlier that we need at least a day rest before they start schools. so its really a stay-at-home day yesterday. maybe i brought puteri to the local saloon in the evening for few hours, for us to manja ourselves there, just the two of us, mother-and-daughter ;)

our weekends were packed!

saturday- since bank opened 1/2 day, i still went to office to settle a few stuff. so tup tap tup tap... by 10.15, we left to ipoh. once reached kinta city (maybe +/-10.40, we headed straight to
tgv. the first movie in-line was afdlin shauki's baik punya cilok at 11.05. ok lor... besides its 'U'-rated.

sorry to disappoint you guys but there will be no spoiler. but yet, i feel like to leave some few pointers regarding this movie. the comedy was simply hillarious; i almost laugh in tears especially the knife dodging training scene between awie and harun salim bachik.

the storyline depends on flashback scene to explain each character life in the past and believe me there’s lot of it. aben played by afdlin shauki even imitate cat ruffedge by dressing up like him and also have the same hair style. there’s also a bookie character (don’t know the actor name) speaking pure kelantan-english slang. now that’s really something to be heard.

unfortunately there something wrong with the flow of the story or what we call as the x-factor that makes the movie this good into something boring. and the mood is not consistent enough to generate excitement and feel to the movie. there are also many gaps in the humor that result in dull moments. i rather not explain, you have to watch yourself. we even skip king kong just to watch this movie.

thereafter, we went to mph. i love to browsing around the bookstore and encouraged my kids to do the same. we got some books from there too. then we went to jaya jusco to get puteri and megat's school stuff.

sunday- i wanted to get up as early as 5.30 or 6 to complete some chores before we went out again that day. but then i ended up woke at 7! ;) anyhow... we left home much more earlier around 9. this time we went straight to kinta city too but we just went there for breakfast at coffee bean.

we left there almost 11 for
lost world of tambun as promised many weeks ago. i got our tickets last friday, printed from my very own samsung ml-1710 laser printer. well, i bought it on-line via sunway online ticketing service. blimey, its my first time there too! when we got there, i was so damn surprised to look at the ticket prices on the banner- RM21.00 for adult and RM16.00 for children under 13 years old. i was not surprised looking at the prices whether its expensive or not i dun care because i have already promised my kids. i was holding my tickets of 1 X RM17.00 for adult and 2 X RM12.00 for children. i was wondering whether i paid the right amount. then i thought to myself, never mind just q-up, we could figure that out with the staff later. so when its my turn, i showed the tickets to the cashier. she confirmed with me that i wanted to go in that day (the expired date of the tickets was 30 june 2006 i think). she then passed me my receipt and three tags for us to go in. we had to scan the tags. once we entered, megat was like, "wow... best nye mama. lain kali kita boleh datang lagi!". yea... we can my dear. we went to the changing room and change our out-fit. people were looking at me one kind only when they saw me wearing my swim-suit grr... like megat said, the place was really awesome! we really had fun there until we didn't realize that we were there playing with water for almost five hours plus. after our first meal at coffee bean earlier, we only had our next meal maybe at 5.45 at the ipoh garden's pizza hut. according to puteri, that place is much more better than bukit merah lake town resort. well i dunno because i've never been to its theme park yet. puteri and megat went there (bukit merah) before with cousin sarah and her hubby.

our last-minute of holiday together was really a good one. we will do it again next time. earlier plan was that i would spend my last weekend of 2005 in jb with a blogger friend. she wanted to bring me around to singapore as well. but i've to forget about it since i had to attend a seminar in seberang jaya on thursday evening. never mind friend maybe some other time yea...

today in history ~ 17 december 2006

caution: this post is gonna be rather long with lotsa pics and such. you know... i was supposed to post this on 17th, but i was damn busy to get near the pc. so here goes...

i have just reached home from penang by 10pm. i had to attend a full-day seminar in prai ler... well actually, i wanted to stay in kl for at least five to six days from the day i arrived there on friday. unfortunately i saw a fax from the company on last tuesday, asking us the whole northern region to meet in pearl view hotel for a seminar :(

the best thing was when one of the pakciks came to me and asked of why i was there. it seems my dad should come instead of me. you know what people? he thought that i was the bride lol... everyone were laughing like hell. he didn't realize that it was a male' name in the invitation card ;)

so i had breakfast with V yesterday morning at kopitiam near his office in plaza damas. the main reason was of course as usual to catch-up on things, besides to hand him my bro's invitation card for this saturday. guess what people, it was my first time there. ya lor... long time never come to kl what lol... i had nasi lemak while he had 1/2 boiled eggs with buttered toast. sorry no food pics this time hehe... not infront of V lol...

alright, let me just go straight to what i wanna post this time. there were quite a number of good and memorable events happened on this day of 17 december 2006.

1 ~ it was my lil' bro's wedding reception dinner for the bride's side at the legend hotel. like the akad nikah on saturday, the wedding planner for this event was pak abu too, who is well-known for his usage of fresh flowers. so we guess of no wonder that he (pak abu) didn't charge shafinaz anything for the hantaran (gift) during the akad nikah. that night, it was full of roses in the banquet hall. in fact i could smell roses everywhere! it was nicely done. kudos pak abu!

kuE's note: more pics can be viewed here.

2 ~ that day also was puteri's 12th birthday. i brought both puteri and megat to berjaya times square (that was my first time there i tell you). our intention was to just went there for jalan-jalan on puteri's birthday. we headed to starbucks for breakfast. since the mall has my favourite store MJ, i bought their school uniforms there. from there, we went straight to jusco 1U to buy a present for mom. we can't find what we wanted in MJ, that's why. we bought aramis life for her i.e. stefanie graf. we bought the same i.e. andre agassi' for dad on his 60th birthday last august. that's why. after that, we had our lunch at tgif. puteri even got a complimentary piece of chocolate cake, while some of the staff sang a birthday song for her.

besides that, puteri was absolutely surprised when VE sang a birthday song for her too. she was smiling all the way lol...

kuE's note:
i. sorry that the video pic was blur as we were laughing and that i was giggling too.
ii. leilanie dear, this video was the one that i tried to send you via mms ;)

3 ~ the same date also marked my sister's 34th birthday. she celebrated it with her friends during the day.

kuE's note: my sister's pic by liyin.

to celli & shafinaz, congratulations to both of you. may you two live happily ever after. lots of lurve from chor!

to my darling puteri, happy 12th birthday. luv from your mama!

to my sista, happy 34th birthday and many more years to come... love, chor!

the day we celebrate puteri's 13th birthday

first and foremost, i have just awoke then had a nice, great warm shower hehe... i doze-off at the family room's sofa around 6.30 pm, when most of them were still here lol... dah terbayor ler my hutang tido for last night... *phew*
well before i carry on writing, here's something that i would like to share with you people my inspirations. if you could see from my blogspot's dashboard' screenshot, my blog is approaching the 500th' post soon. hmm... wonder what i should write then. any ideas people? but please dun tell me to come up with something like "500 things about kuE". how long it gonna last then. whatever it is we will see how it goes. anyhow people, ideas are always welcome... just holla me occay?

yesterday was my mom's birthday. we didn't celebrate. but just some kenduri doa selamat along for the reopening of our premise. o yea... forgot to tell you people that we are back in business officially since last thursday, after temporarily closed for about six weeks or so. thus, so sorry my dear... i didn't expect that i would be sooo busy that time till got no time to entertain you. i was damn busy up and forth from here to sales office in ipoh and another office in prai. whats more with meetings with my other task force members. that time i always wished that i could have 25 hours in a day instead :~)

so since there were no celebration for mom, i just baked this (refer right pic). whats the red thingy in the mixer you asked? hehe... simply click here to read more about it.

after everyone went back, i started to bake again at night. this time for puteri and my sis' simple but meaningful birthday celebration, with our very closed family and friends. it was grandma's idea though. eventually she wanted to cook laksa johor for everyone. at first i just wanna bring them to penang... simple as that. besides that i haven't get puteri's present yet. you know when our kids were small, we can buy what we wanted for them, but as they grow older, i believe that its good to let them choose their own present. like puteri, she wanted an oly digital camera too! but of other model of course. well, maybe we will go jalan-jalan this weekend instead or see hows things goes on :P

so after i completed baking the birthday cupcakes around 1 am, i just slept on the sofa, infront of the tv at the family room. megat was sleeping there too. he always like that when i did my baking especially at night. it seems he wanna accompany me. i already awakes by 5 am to do the frosting for the cupcakes. go here to view more of the close-up pics.

i was getting ready for work by 9 am when megat asked me, "mama, you work on chor's* (this is what megat called his sister) birthday too?". owh... kids, you know of how cute they think people. so i told him that it was just for a while to make sure that everything was under control ;)

whatever it is i came back home around 12.30 pm to prepare some stuff for the party. like i said earlier, it was just a simple one, nothing fancy like megat's 8th birthday. anyhow we still get ready not more than 10 goodie bags, specially for puteri's small cousins. its just handmade paper bags from some recycle wrapping paper we have at home, consist of party size chocolates and snacks like chickadee (we use to have this during our school days remember, then danone started to produce them again), ngan yin's ground nut (or better known as kacang cap tangan), cadbury time out and zip, rice crackers (the one available at supermarkets where kids also adult love it so much) plus a hotwheels car for boys and two blue ribbon clips from maggie t for girls. although its not much, at least we were happy to see the happy faces of our small guest.

earlier when i was happily arranging the birthday cupcakes, my sister came. suddenly i was so damn shocked when she shouted, "WOIII!!!...". she quickly took the one with number, and ran away from me. in other words, both us siap main aci kejor lagik! lol... she locked herself in our parent room's toilet grr... after quite some time, i went back to the dining room. she followed me while teasing me like small kids. everyone were laughing like hell. she then ate the cupcake infront of me. when she saw me snapping her pics, she warned me not to load them in flickr wakakakaaa...

alright then people... here i leave you with some pics of the party. my favourite is the candid pic of puteri and my niece safiya. the last one showed safiya who was being shy, after we granted her wish to blow the candles too. "dunno ler of how many times we celebrated safiya's birthday in a year", safiya's mom (my cousin sarah) mumbling alone lol... viel Vergnügen!

my nuffnang story

alright, guess let me start by telling all you people of when i first heard the word 'nuffnang'. i am very proud to say i may be one of the first to know about it, thanks to the penang bloggers meet i joined on 25 february 2007. nuffnang's co-founder was one of the attendees. i did hear they talked in chinese and sometimes word 'nuffnang' while congratulating timothy. ok, fine. stupid me, i didn't even ask anyone what was that all about.

not too long after that nuffnang went live on the worldwide web. i was like- occay, this is what nuffnang all about. i can't remember the date but i know i was one of the first to register too.

its good to be a nuffnanger. there are so many activities lined-up for everyone no matter young or old. i had many experiences. not forgetting meeting top bloggers and learned many things from them. from then on i never turn back. let's have a glance seeing my journey with nuffnang (arranged accordingly by category)..........................................

― sometime in june '08, this was the first nuffnang event i attended. invited bloggers were allowed to bring a guest, so i brought along my sister with me. it was a good explosion for her as well. even she expanded her social network friends through this event. she's a photographer, so you see how she could take an advantage from it.

width="224"

― didn't i say earlier nuffnang is for everyone? its event with friso was a kind of family day. it involved families with young kids. this time i brought megat. for puteri, she was too shy to go with us even though rob asked me to bring her... hah! megat did have so much fun with the other kids- dancing, play-along, contest and many more. i was lucky enough to win RM100 mph voucher by being one of the winners of the 10 best written pre-event blog posts courtesy of friso!

― from the event title it clearly said music totally involved. we had to dress-up as a music icon. my hair was short that time so i thought halle berry(?) the best *glurp* for this one, yes, of course puteri was interested and followed me. she also wore something nice- hip-hop/funky, maybe miley? one thingy is she's a bit shy to snap pics. so here's diese aka saloma with moi...

width="224"

― since this event was something about financial thingy i asked my blogger friend marcus to join me. we first met at a sharing session by nuffnang of course. i could say we became good friends. anyway you will know what i meant as you read through this post till the end ツ

width="299"

― diese was my guest for this event. vaseline launched some new line of products. and guess what people after i first tried the many types of lotions given in the goodie bag, believe it or not i keep using vaseline until now. it makes my skin smooth and soft.

― i could say i am proud here again that i am one of the bloggers who attended nuffnang's first sharing session. it was held at the apartment downtown, with guest bloggers, redmummy and sultan muzaffar. they shared some blogging tips and whats not. apart from that we got to get to know each other by introducing ourselves.

width="299"

― i knew a cousin, yaya already moved to the city for good. so invited her to join me for this session. besides i also aware for sure her mom likes it that we were trying to keep the bonding of our family ties. we are definitely not first cousins though. and thanks to my invite yaya joined nuffnang thereafter for the sake of getting some extra incomes.

― mamma mia was one of the first premiere screening invites i received. its special as nuffnangers could bring not 2 as usual, but 3 guest. it was screened in gurney plaza. so both puteri and megat tagged along. i was worried at first though whether they gonna like that kind of movie- you know, abba music was during my childhood days not theirs. they love it! until they looked for their gong gong's old record and insisted him to play the musics... *phew*

― as soon as i got the invite for madagascar 2 via email i was so happy planning to surprise megat. i was really sure kids like megat loves the movie. as usual it was during not just weekdays but school days. once i fetch him from school i told him to get ready after lunch. he wore the clothes i prepared. see, clever me make him wear like a zoo-keeper... ahaks! he did of where we were going. i told him to just follow. the best thing was the screening was held in tgv in midvalley while we were living in kuala kangsar! to cut the story short he was really surprised when we reached there and thanked me so much for bringing me over. he smiled from ear-to-ear. i made him sleep on our way back home as he still has to go to school the day after.

― i didn't dare to bring any of my kids for this movie. i just thought it was suitable for adults. more over we were in kuala kangsar. since i knew i got some other errands to do in kl that time i accepted the invite for this movie. what a co-incident my ex-boyfriend happened to have something to do in the city too. so i got him to bring me there. we became good friends, i believe nothing harmful for us to go watching movies together. it was very long time ago since the last we did that anyway. in my mind, i only thought the movie got something to do with his job, so maybe he could learned a bit from it too... :)

width="299"

― this movie screening was special, mister potato co-sponsored it. we each have been given two canisters each of the mister potato chips. kewl... huh?! i brought along cousin nivin. i was very much aware she's the right person for me to bring.

there were more other nuffnang events i attended. but i didn't blog about it- bloggers' blocked happened eventually especially towards the end of last year. i managed to post some sets of pictures anyway. i tweet a lot too sometimes- its a micro-mini blog right? on the other hand its one of the easiest way to update too, hehee... by the way here's some i could recalled~

a night of stars with astro b.yond IPTV!

i know i know this blog has been lacked of updates. like i mentioned earlier, bloggers' blocked happened towards last year. plus i got job offer and moved to kl in january. i realized i was a bit lay-zeee then. that must be the big reasons why i never got the chance to have advertorial job. not even selected as a glitterati plus. not even have the chance to go to the first nuffnang asia-pacific blog awards. not just that i know very well i don't have many followers here. this also the results i didn't earn as much as some bloggers until hundreds and thousands of ringgits. but i did promise myself to brighten-up my blog again once things settle-down in kl. i will also try my very best to make it a point to join and be active again in blogger events organized by nuffnang. well to tell you the truth i dunno many local bloggers much myself. i am a lone ranger unless i get to ask someone to tag along. can't blame me for writing this blog in english though. i have been doing it since i first blog more than six years ago. it started as an online journal, nothing more than that. nuffnang is like a place for me to have fun for myself, and sometimes shared whatever i got with my loved ones... ♡

if we looked back, i lived in kuala kangsar, my hometown. if that time i can make the initiative to travel all the way to kl, also to penang to enjoy events by nuffnang, i should be able to do it more now. yes, other bloggers were truly surprised when they heard i came from kualé (kangsor). amazing? not for me, i am used to it already. besides i believe in the quotes: if there's a will, there's always a way...

now let me tell y'all my daughter, puteri is a registered member of nuffnang and churp churp too! she's in the mid of having her spm exams now. it was last month that i made my first trip to nuffnang office. i ordered 2 churpie plushies, one for moi and the other for puteri. i surprised her by sending it via pos ekspres along with a good luck card on thursday, few days before her exam started. according to mom, puteri was really surprised and smiled all day long... and when i came back to kualé last saturday (it was a surprise too), went straight-up to puteri's room to look for her, she was having her nap while hugging churpie. i should have taken a picture! i am so happy to see puteri loves her surprise exam gift~

come 16 December 2011, 500 bloggers from around the asia-pacific region will flock to kuala lumpur, malaysia for the nuffnang asia-pacific blog awards 2011 in putrajaya marriott. the Awards aims to not only honour the region's best bloggers, but also to bring together blogger communities from across asia-pacific. the nuffnang asia-pacific blog awards is brought to you by volkswagen malaysia and putrajaya marriott.
