today marks the malaysia's 49th national day. as usual there would always be the national day grand parade where kuching was the host for this year. well i remember that i did join once when it was held here in kuale for the district level, during my school days. i was one of those students represented girl guides.

here's something about the above picture that i picked from bernama-

" The people's objective and dreams were reached on the night of August 30, 1957 at the Padang Selangor Club (now Dataran Merdeka) where the Union Jack flag was lowered for the last time and the Malayan flag was proudly raised.

The following day a new independent nation was born with Tunku Abdul Rahman declaring the Malayan Independence at the Merdeka Stadium. The historical event was attended by thousands of citizens, the Malay Rulers, the Duke of Gloucester (representing the Queen) and other representatives from the British government. The day was a most important and glorious day for all Malayans (then) and Malaysians today, for after 446 long years of colonisation, our land finally became a sovereign independent nation. "

Eye on Malaysia to be relocated to Malacca

IF YOU visit Taman Tasik Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur at night from now on, you will be sure to feel a sense of emptiness. Why?

New base: The Eye on Malaysia will be relocated to Malacca soon.

There is a vacuum there now that the lights of the iconic Eye on Malaysia at the lake garden are switched off following the final day of its operation there on Merdeka Day.

The 60m-high Ferris wheel had been operating at the Taman Titiwangsa since January last year, but it will be dismantled and relocated to Malacca this week. read more about this here.

alamak!!! i myself and puteri haven't try EOM, don't tell me now we have to go all the way to malacca for that? megat been there with his cousin danial during june' school holidays last year, along with my sisters and cousin liyana hmm... maybe this will be a damn good excuse for us to plan for our next holiday in malacca *glurp* my last trip there was early this year, when i went there with my friends for our AM's wedding :D

Yayasan Harapan Kanak Kanak Malaysia (YHKM) with the collaboration of ten (10) other Non Governmental Organizations representing various children’s causes will also participate in celebrating Malaysia’s 50th Anniversary through a special, unique campaign called ‘Our Vision for the Nation’, the objective of this campaign is to ensure that the vision and hope of children will be heard by leaders of our country and shared amongst Malaysians.

These photographs will be made into a montage in the form of a Malaysian flag to be raised on 31st August 2007. The children's vision will be compiled and presented to the nation's leaders." -- vision of the nation.


megat and i were walking through the level 2 of 1U, new wing on last saturday when we bumped into vision for the nation booth. some of you people may know that i am kinda generous when its come to charity thingy -- its all explained here ;)

well there we were... as you could see from the above pic, they will take pics of the kids, apart from receiving donation from the publics. those pics will be made into a montage in the form of a malaysian flag to be raised on 31 august 2007. besides that the children's vision will be compiled and presented to pak lah, insya-allah. we have done our part by donating some monies. how about you? come on people... let us all help with only a minimum sum of RM3.

with regards to the 50th merdeka celebration this year also many are busy doing their part. one of them includes a production house people whose been here in kuale for quite some time to complete a drama on that. there were at puteri's school last saturday for the same reason too.

while the team was here in our place today. i snap the attached pic when i wanted to go out for a meeting in ipoh, with some members of our task force this morning -- check-out the flags hanged at the porch people :) from what we understood the drama will be screened on merdeka day this year via tv3.

guess what people. both puteri and megat didn't go to school today! we arrived from kl only this morning around 2+ am. unfortunately we can't go in as i left my house key in my luggage, which was with my dad. mom and him was driving wayyy behind us. we went in once they reached home at about 3.30 am. by the time i changed, washed my face etc., went to bed, it was already 4.30 am. i didn't even realize it when the alarm clock rang gosh... i was stunned when i saw that it was already bright outside. i rushed to puteri's then megat's room to check on them. it was too late by then. hmm... everyone in the house awoke late too -- the production team people already waited for us outside lol...

well i was there to attend wedding reception both on saturday and sunday night. and the best thing also was that the venue was at the same place -- dewan perdana felda ;) (i will load the pics in my next blog post).

earlier we arrived kl by 2pm. megat and i had lunch at waffle world. i simply wanna try my luck when i sms naddy after i finished my meal. i wanted to hand her something. not long after that, we met, but only for a short while. we managed to have a quick hi... hi... bye bye... i hope that you like it! not forgetting rose and sheryl too!... -- thanks to lich :D

the making of... saladin

dear malaysian people,

if you subscribed to our cable tv, do tune in to channel 4 (astro ria) shortly at 2.30pm . my lil' bro just called, that he will be featured in the program 'the making of... saladin'. actually i am damn busy in our kitchen right now but stop for a while to post this hehe... most probably i will bring my baking stuff in front of the tv too! lol...

eventually there's a lot to update here. i will come back as soon as i am free ;)

mind your own business

i scolded a girl with tudung last sunday at my son's school during a colouring contest. i think that event was in conjunction with the merdeka day celebration. i didn't understand much of what the mc said because mostly everything was in mandarin. there were some kids from other kindergartens too. also there were some malay parents accompanying their kids. i really don't like the way they stared at my daughter and me, as though wanna eat us. i was juz wearing a non-sleeve blouse with a pants while my daughter was in her blouse and skirt. why they think they wore tudung that they already good enough? i don't believe in that statements at all. excuse me... not all girls/ladies wearing tudung are good okay?!!

i was really mad at that girl. here's the story like... i was sitting alone waiting for my son to finish colouring. there's also an old chinese lady besides me. my daughter was walking infront of me while that girl was on the other side. suddenly i saw her mouth moving (although i cannot hear what is it actually) saying something to her sister like... "ohh... melayu bukan cina". i was damn angry. so i waited for a chance to call her. as soon as she passed by me, i tapped on her shoulder and asked her to follow me to the side. i asked her of why she said such bad thing infront of people. i also reminded her that doing so was bad no matter directly or indirectly. i also told her off, "kalau awak nak bagitau kat mak awak tentang saya tegur awak, bagitau lar saya tak takut. kenapa, awak heran sebab dia tu putih. bapak dia cina sebab tu lar!". she was so shocked looking at me. she then said sorry to me of what she has done. i reminded her again, "okay lain kali jangan buat lagi".

wa lau ley... so young girl already knows how to tease/talk/gossip about people. wonder what would she be when she grows up. thats why i don't like to employ gal staff working with me. i know that their mouth would move more than their work! not my style man...

its merdeka's eve. i am at home, not out at somewhere. yes i am bored -- very. no surprise there. my parents are out. megat is sleeping. puteri and bah are sleeping too. haha i sound so emo. well at least i have the whole comp to myself? haha...

this day also marked rizal's 34th birthday. hah! some of you may know that he's my ex... now you know that he's actually a year younger than me ;)

i wasn't looking for a younger man and rizal wasn't looking for an older woman, but it just happened. our relationship was unique, because it's not just built on sex, but on trust, respect and love. in my opinion, age has nothing to do with our relationship. unfortunately there was a third person stood in between us. i hate to mention of whom was it (note: NOT gf or bf or something like that).

in our seventeen years friendship, to tell you people the truth, actually we have never had a serious problem and now... we are still very happy friend indeed i.e. both of us remember each other's birthday. strange or not, but its true -- that's us. in another word, we will remain friends. one of the people in our life who could really understand us, other than kay is hairy, rizal's brother. i guess rizal would be agree with me -- that we would like to thank these people from the bottom of our heart, for the fully understanding. we love you sooo much sis and bro! mwahh... we dunno of what would be happened without you two.

PADA HARI YANG INDAH

this drama, has been screened on tv3 last tuesday, 9pm specially for merdeka. its about a malay family who always make sure that his children gathered at their hometown in kuala kangsar (ehem...) during the country's national day. this year the father was lucky that he got the chance to meet his childhood friends ah meng and raju. there were also some flash back of their life during malaysia's independence day in 1957.

most kampung (village) scenes were shot in kuale itself i.e. with places like our home (hehe...), yut loy, my school etc. people of kuale were kinda proud of it. ya... just imagine people, of all the places in malaysia, why on earth umno (yes! if you look at it properly, the whole idea of the drama was by umno) chose kuale.

rizal sms me that night, when we were watching the drama. it seems that he missed kuale so much, what when some of the shots were done here at home ;)

while to kay, i am so sorry sis. i forgot to tell you earlier about this. luckily you tuned in to tv3 that night ek? lol... in her sms, kay told me that she was so excited when suddenly she realized that it was actually our home in the drama :P

hello... people!

it's been 2 weeks... hah! anyhow leave a side the long awaited blog post that i supposed to post it earlier. not even a single post on this ramadhan month yet. as we are still in the celebration mood of 'independence day', i guess there's more than important thingy to be spread out~

It Happened to Me, It Could Happen to You

The typical Merdeka Eve night started with an urge to watch the fireworks celebration in KLCC ended up in a racist attack by a group of teenagers. So, me and a friend of mine thought of a good solution to avoid the traffic jam in that area by walking from the office in Jalan Imbi through Pavillion, to Jalan Kia Peng through Convention Center to KLCC.

Sounds like an ideal plan as the path is a frequent walkway and is even advertised in Pavillion as 'Bridge to KLCC' (just to note that we didnt go into any dark alley).

At 10.15pm, we started walking towards Pavillion, stopped to get a drink at Starbucks and proceeded ahead. As we walk, we came across people from various races and foreign tourists along the way.

On Jalan Kia Peng, we walked past Novotel Hotel, Hakka Restaurant, Menara HLA and was reaching the junction of Jalan Pinang when a group of about 10 teenage Malay youngsters walking from the opposite direction. They looked like typical youths, giggling and talking to each other.

As we walked past them, suddenly one of them turned around and started to make a flying kick to my friend. Noticing the 'fun' he is having, his other friends started to do the same to me. It was so sudden and all I was thinking at the moment was, "What the hell did we do to them?"

Both of us ended up kneeling on the ground for a moment before more kicks and punches came flying in. Even though both of us had our tripod strapped across our shoulder, we were too shocked to react to it. Eventually one punch landed right on my right forehead and I started to bleed profusely. Seeing that they eventually stopped and walked away. WALKED AWAY, damn it. They were not even afraid to run but just WALKED AWAY like winning a game or something. The last thing I remember hearing from one of them was "Baliklah ke negara asal".

Imagine hearing this statement on Merdeka Eve.

yes! its gonna be 6 more days for us to celebrate our country's 50th national day. and when everyone are in the mood for it, i was kinda pissed-off looking at this...

hmm... why you asked? we were having lunch at a swensen's outlet in queensbay mall (again?!!)... lol. yea... the last time we went there was about two weeks ago. i guess its already in my list for one of my favourite shopping places ;)

alright, pic shown was megat's sourdough 49ers chicken. one thing for sure... why on earth they still stick those two tiny u.s. flags on the buns, when we are in the merdeka mood. ya... ya... i know its incorporated in the u.s. but i guess its not wrong right, if you would change the style according to our country's life, at least once a year. in fact i didn't even see any malaysian flag hanging in the premise. what happened guys?

some how or rather, i was A BIT happy when i got the chance to have my favourite dessert there, apple crumble. i admit. but still, look out there... our country's flag were hanging everywhere--

the one with happy thoughts...

hmm...its' been ages since i last wrote an entry in a blog. yups, since i shut down my own 2-year old blog a few years ago.. but you see, the blog was competing with my fotopages for attention and with the continuously increasing demand of work, i couldn't maintain both and made a tough decision to shut down the blog as my passion for photography is much greater.

so it came with a pleasant surprise that this lovely lady who i met only in the cyberworld, invited me to her guest blogger in conjunction with her birthday. i actually missed writing in blog and in my old blog i could just rant and rant my thoughts and got away with it…hehehehe.

it’s gonna be 36, eh? well i celebrated mine last year. after many years, i feel that my birthday is getting less and less significant to celebrate. Is it because fear of old age? have other priorities? getting less presents (hehehe)? combination of all? or maybe because there are too many birthdays out there to celebrate – including agong’s birthday, sultan’s birthday, merdeka’s birthday, prophet muhamad’s birthday (which i like coz they mean off days for me…hehehehe).

but i couldn’t be helped but being reminded of my own birthday every year coz i share the same birth date with my mum. yups, yours truly was her best birthday gift when i was born (that’s actually a self-proclaim statement rather than my mum’s but i trust she’s gonna say the same if asked…kehkehkeh). one year i almost forgot my birthday until that flower shop in ipoh called me up (coz i use its service without fail for the last 15 years to send flowers to my mum on her birthday and mother’s day) ….thanks ah, auntie.

so what i hope as i aged? last week, my tok passed away. it’s sad but not that unexpected. he was almost 85 and had various ailments associated with old age. but i believe he had enjoyed his life to the fullest and had watched his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grew up. i love him so much as i could still remember when i was in the primary school, he used to pick me up from school with his “basikal tua” and sent me home which was like 10km away, under the hot sun. i had nothing but happy thoughts for him. yups, that’s what i can hope for – happy thoughts.

not just my own happy thoughts but also for people to have happy thoughts for me. wouldn’t it be lovely whenever people think of me, they’d feel happy? wow, i think that’s the best man can ask for. it reminds me of the movie troy when the mother told archilles “if you stay here, you will live long, marry, have children and great grandchildren, but later you will die and soon they will forget you. but if you go to this war, you might die but your name will live forever” ( or something to that effect….man, i love the fight scenes of this movie).

oh, i don’t think that i need to go to a war for people to remember my name, though sometimes i think that’s actually not a bad idea. but with the state of current army (where i see the more and more generals on golf courses), i don’t think that i’ll get a chance to die as a hero. hmm…a trip to palestin, perhaps? oh, that i idea would have been great if i’m still single. for now, i’ll resort by being nice to people around me and try to make good changes, whatever i can….even if it’s just a cast of vote.

so, here’s to you, ku E. happy 36th birthday and i wish you the best in life. i wish you to have many happy thoughts and for people to have many happy thoughts of you. i sure have happy thoughts for you, especially for inviting me to the guest blogger here. hope you’ll invite me again, next year.

"sudah sampai hukum"

about 24 hours ago, all of us here were terribly shocked by the sudden death of my supervisor, N, at work. luckily we were about to close business for the day that time last night, thus there were no customers around. i guess its no need for me to describe it all. enough said that the police classified it as a natural death. N was having a heart attack. Besides that, N who was 39, also had high blood pressure and diabetes (the 3 best friends of all).

almost everyone who knows N very well, can't really sleep last night including me. even my parents and grandma. but after posting this, looks like i have to force myself to get some enough sleep. our N7 team is having some promotion thingy for 2D/1N in conjunction of our country's upcoming 50th merdeka celebrations soon. so we will be staying in grik tomorrow.

back to N's story, the funeral was held smoothly before zohor, in a nice and good weather. i wore my black abaya despite the sunny weather. it was cooling though, maybe because of the type of fabs. my dad bought it for me in dubai, after he completed his haj trip a few years ago. sorry no pic. don't tell me that i should camwhore at the funeral just for my blog :P

i tried to sleep after we reached home from the hospital last night but failed. so i sent a very simple and short sms to our other family members, relatives and friends who knows N--

fyi N 'sudah sampai hukum' b4 11pm @ work. inna lillah...

the best thing was my sister called mom. she told her that my other sister complained that my sms sounds rude. then mom obviously thought that maybe my sister dunno that 'sudah sampai hukum' was another malay/islamic sayings of saying meninggal dunia (dead) lol...

after listening to the explanation calmly, my sister was like, "ohhhhh..." ;)

so people please keep late N and his family along in your prayers too. N left a wife whose also was a SAHM and five children - four girls aged 13 (twins), 9 years old and 11 months, also one boy aged 5 years old. during his life, N was a our most trusted employee. everyone loves to work with him. he was being loved by everyone, not just his family. that truly showed earlier today when so many people from all walks of life came to visit late N and his family. fyi our family is very closed with his' ever since our older generations. may N rest in peace...
