tonight’s function that i attended was rather a bit rare. it was tsung wah’s school 95th anniversary at the primary school’s main hall in town. the guests were all chinese except me. it’s actually because megat was performing with his other school mates. lau-se (that's teacher in mandarin) goh asked us to be there at 7.30pm. unfortunately we reached the hall almost 7.40pm instead. we break our fast first lor... megat eat a lot so i make sure that he ate as much as he could, so that he could manage himself later.
as soon as we saw lau-se goh and his friends at a dining table near to one of the side doors, all of them were like so relieved and said this in mandarin to megat— ”wahh… you are late. we were so worried if you are not coming”. i told lau-se goh in malay that we had our break fast, and then only we went there.
“ayo… akak… i thought megat won’t be coming”, said another lau-se in malay.
“megat break his fast first”, i replied.
“o ya… sorry, almost forgot”, the lau-se said.
then they quickly put some final touch for megat. it was a dinner function. the entire guest had dinner first, then it was officially started at 8pm sharp (not like malay’s promise i tell you)! first of all as usual, there were speech, speech and more speeches. megat and friends dance performance was the first one. the second one was about after 45 minutes later. i didn’t take pictures of them dancing as the hall was fully crowded with round dining tables. i only took a pic of the above. i guess it was okay rather then nothing ;)
we left the place at about 9.30pm. we dropped-by at kat kopitiam for some snacks. fyi all the chinese owners of that kopitiam are megat’s friends. he was so excited telling them about his performance. we found out that one of them was at the hall earlier with intention to watch megat dance but too bad she was not allowed to go in as she didn’t buy any ticket. we also understood that the function was organised by the MCA committee. so i told megat to say sorry to them because megat didn’t know that to get an entry to the dinner were by tickets only.
despite the havoc in kuale last week, i decided to still go for my normal mornings routine on that weekend, but just a lil' bit late around 7.30 am. i would normally reached 'bukit residen' (resident's hill) by 6.45 am, accompanied by megat. i could see the truth kuale people heading their healthy lifestyle as usual. we did this from the first weekends of 2009 until to-date.
so for this week, i only went this morning because megat has to go to school yesterday to replace the cny holidays. i didn't bring my oly this time. all the pics here are part of the pics that i have taken on a saturday, last two weeks instead. there's not much difference with last saturday's scenario though. so enjoy...
we started our first round walking up and down the 'bukit residen' as early as 6:55 am. we saw my auntie yan, walking so fast than anyone else...
some of the scenery that we could see along our way is my beloved high school, the one of ever famous among kuale schools other than mckk and clifford *big grin*
see how wonderful my weekend mornings routines from the following pics—
the first pic above showed the view on my 6th rounds. normally i took about an hour to complete the 6 rounds of walking up and down the hill of bukit residen. but today, i managed to made a self record of 55 minutes! then down to the 'tepi sungei' (river side) we went... can you see the poles on the third pic? that's one of the games people played during 'sukan ayor' (water sports) on the sultan's birthday every year. you could also see the sayong bridge on forth and fifth pic. on the last pic above, there's an area at the tepi sungei called 'laman budaya' where you could see a group of woman folks of kuale doing line dance, and on the left under the gazebo was another group of people doing falun dafa (falun gong).
falun gong (法輪功) is a spiritual discipline founded in china by li hongzhi (李洪志) in 1992. it has five sets of meditation exercises and teaches the principles truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance (真,善,忍), as set out in the main books falun gong and zhuan falun (轉法輪). the teachings deal with issues such as "cultivation of virtue and character", "moral standards for different levels", and "salvation of all sentient beings." the books, lectures, and exercise materials have been translated into over 40 languages and are available on the internet free of charge.
here in kuale, you can join falun gong free-of-charge on every saturday morning from 7 to 9am. the teacher who teach falun gong in kuale, is also a teacher in smjk(c) tsung wah.
for the line dance group, they meet on saturday mornings as well. they dance to many types of tunes from cha-cha, joget, chinese songs, pocho-pocho and many more.
by the way there was another group of old folks doing an exercise (refer third pic above). but i am not sure of what is it called. they carried a small stick each. is there any of you people who can help me here?
and as usual, bloggers are ain't called bloggers if we didn't cam whore right? hehee... so here's some pics of me (trying hard to do yoga pose') —
and look who i met during my usual morning walks last two weeks— mrs wong who taught us english. she is now 70+, staying with her husband in talang. it seems her son asked mrs wong to stay with them in penang. but mrs wong and husband prefer to stay in this peaceful kuale... so her son just make do to come and visit her once in a while :)
so what do you think people? ain't life in kuale good enough? i wonder of where else you can get this type of a healthy lifestyle with very nice people around you.
it was not too long ago that i stressed out on punctuality when we were already late this morning!
my n76 alarm's woke me up as usual at 5.12 am. with the thoughts of "still early", i let it snoozed for some times... end up i heard my nai nai was knocking on my door at about 10 minutes to 7! wargghhh!!!... must be me who has been thinking/dreaming a lot about the new me! luckily we managed to at least arrived in school by 7.30 am. this time i have to drop megat first, where we had to come from double lion roundabout instead. the only thing was that he had to cross the road with the help of the school's security guard, at the zebra crossing located right infront of the school.
i tell you what people... we could only see this panorama at malay college also, besides megat's school. what happened to other school's security guards. why can't they be as those two schools. i have in fact mainly stressed out about this in the meetings. too bad i always received negative answers i.e. the security guards are not under the school's supervision, they only report to the security company... blerk! wtf! if malay college and tsung wah can do it, wonder why other schools can't right?!! i am sure the order was by the respective' HMs or their discplinary boards. this is the matter of the safety of the school children...
believe me? or no? hehe... that's true—i started to play badminton maybe two weeks ago, but the rest of the gang already started much earlier than me ie few years ;) they were all of the local police. majority of them who came were mostly men. women's team did have a great game too today anyway. we would meet three times a week (monday, wednesday and friday night) at the main tsung wah primary school's badminton court in town.
hmm... fyi we do not have any gym here in kuale. at least i have had a place to release some tensions from work, problems etc with some nice people. now i have this activity of playing badminton. besides that also we meet during weekends at perak river sides. eventually i am not sure of when exactly i became close with those group of people/friends (the police). i guess maybe its all since the 'unforgettable day' of mine about two years ago :D from there, i developed good friendships with almost all of them, vise versa including the OCPD, his assistant, IOs, sargeants, ASPs and many more.
wouldn't it be great if you all are willing to share your experiences too. i mean, what do you all do to keep yourself healthy?
we have been invited by megat's former kindergarten teacher to their yearly concert at 8pm sharp. do you all people know that for chinese people here, also the one that i have known all this while... when they said 8pm sharp, they really mean it. take note that i said chinese people here, cuz i dunno about other places. but i guess all chinese are the same (?). they are really particular about punctuality. read about 'how to be punctual' here.
megat and i arrived at the tsung wah's primary school hall late, about less than 10 mins after 8pm. the function already started by then with prize giving ceremony first. then followed by speech by three kids in three languages i.e. mandarin, malay and english (refer first video). megat has done that before, during his last year in kindergarten. he presented the mandarin speech. i didn't manage to post the pics that time sorry. maybe i will do it one of these days, to pay-off everything that i owe ;) i didn't realize it at all, until i glanced thru the post for me to place the link here :)
1. 2.
the second video showed a group of the kindergarten kids singing a few songs, just like past years.
besides the two videos, here's some pics of megat with his former teachers--
alright then for now... i guess i better call this a night as we are heading to penang (especially here for the first time) early tomorrow morning. can you all people guess of what we gonna do. one hint: those people (for tomorrow's event) are particular about punctuality too. every time i am going to such event, i would always make sure that i will be there on time (like all the previous events i went, even with the kids). don't forget to watch this space tomorrow occay? for more great pics insya allah :D
international women's day i am certainly glad to be in this circle as there is a special day declared for all women around the globe.
malaysia's 12th election day with regards to the above, although i didn't vote for the election day, i was so proud of myself for bringing and helping my 80+ years old grandmother to do it. we left the house about 7.45am and reached the school' gate within minutes only. tsung wah' secondary school is very near with our house i tell you. its located on the other side of the back road. for those who dunno, laksa pak ngah is located behind the school. many people were already there at the school' gate especially the older generations. they look so excited and happy, including bah (the name we called our grandmother). i know their feelings. what when people like bah never missed to vote ever since the tunku abdul rahman era. unfortunately this grand daughter of hers never try to do it for her whole life ;) alright ler, maybe for the next one onwards insya allah... i did ask bah of her hoped for this day. she said that she do not cares of who gonna win, as she only hopes that our people will live in peace and harmony, thats all. great one there bah, way to go!...
-----
with that, i am so glad that this day also marked this post as my 555th' post in the blog ;) wohooo!!!...
alright then people, its time for me to sign-off for now. we gonna get ready to go to ipoh for my small cousin's 2nd birthday. how time flies so fast ya... baby natalia nadine (or boo as the family and friends called her) has grown to a very cute little girl now. i will see whether i can load her pic in my next post. they are back for holiday from abu dhabi early this week. if you are happened to be in my list on FB, i am sure you bumped into my auntie oyeen sometimes ;) opsss... did i say she's my cousin in that 199th' post hehe... she's actually my auntie lol...
this pic was taken infront of the restaurant. its a kampung-style bungalow, business is placed downstairs, while the owner's live upstairs ;) we have just came back from there. actually i was craving for its laksa for quite some time but seems that i didn't have time to get myself that way. so we headed straight there after i fetched megat from his full-day praying course at clifford primary school.
a view from our table...
here's my all-time-favourite, the famous laksa pak ngah since 1955, pictured here with abc special, topped with a scoop of ice-cream.
kuE's note: so the next time you all drop-by kuale, i will make sure that i bring you to laksa pak ngah' restaurant ;)
i was damn bz like a bumble bee the whole day today. i only went into the bathroom for shower around 8.30am, after had my breakfast with kids. gosh... i always woke-up late during this school holidays lol... before that, i sms Mr T, telling him that i'll be there by 10am. i normally took my shower for almost 1/2 an hour or more ;) i got a reply from Mr T to make sure i arrived there on time. alright... whatever... when i was about to get ready, he called me around 9.15 am instead. he asked me to go there asap as his boss will be going out after his meeting. gosh... i thought that we were supposed to meet at 10 grr... then off i went to the local police station. i managed to drop-by my office in no time to take-along some of the invitation cards and my management diary (one-of-the-must-things that i always bring during my appointments).
when i reached the balai (police station), Mr T already waiting for me. i was even shocked when he opened the door for me (i was taking my stuff that time occay?!!). he accompanied me straight to his boss' office. the ocpd was already waiting for me in his office, while flipping through today's star. tuan zakaria (ocpd) asked me to have a seat. oh... i thought i just wanna hand-over the card. alright, i felt more comfortable then. so i handed the card to him and we started to talk. i also gave him our company's diary. as there will be some important people coming to our kenduri (the wedding reception) here next week, he promised to send some traffic police to help us to handle the traffic that night. hmm... how lucky i am! i was there for about 1/2 an hour. then i went to Mr T's office. i wrote the cards for all the ketua bahagian there with the help of Mr T. he even helped me to deliver all the cards to them. hey... i was not there to bodek or what. but the thing is i know almost all of them there and vise versa. so?
there after i went to see bank managers for the same purpose. around 11 something, i decided to go and see my hair-dresser. i was there for almost three hours plus. normal lor for me, when i am attending functions. what when am attending my lil' bro's wedding this weekend... especially when my white hair growing already.
then i went back to my work place. i got a staff to accompany me to send my 4wd for service. so he drove another car. i always make sure that i service my car frequently as i travel a lot. at the meantime, we went to laksa pak ngah (behind tsung wah'ssecondary school) as i was damn hungry. my favourite was of course the laksa. guess what, my mom called asking where were i. it seems that i was damn busy the whole day until they never saw me at all lol... we went back to the workshop to take my 4wd.
i went out again with mom and megat. yes as usual, we were running around for some last minute errants. i also collected our new baju kurung& baju melayu from my tailor. pheww... what a day!
i have to take my shower soon. then maybe i will do some packing before we go off to kl tomorrow, after puteri's ballet class.
kuE's note: once you are a blogaholic, you will always be i.e. me. got the hint? lol...
