bid and win!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.

Just like every one else, I came to love doing some online shopping— it's convenient, fast and easy way to get some things that we want and need. Apart from that, there are so many great choices and amazing deals we can find online these days that online shopping became better than on-site/in-store shopping.

And when it comes to the bidding and auctioning part, it's always very exciting and challenging for me. It's a great way to compete a little for what we want to get. The good thing about this auction/bid thingy is that you name your price and when you win, that's the best part because you get what you want for the price you want and willing to pay.

And now, let me introduce you to Bidazzled, a new online auction site that was launched recently in early November. They are redefining the online auction market by offering savings of up to 90% on name brand merchandise all while funding a charity. We all love to pay back to the community and this is why we like Bidazzled. It was designed and created to fund a lung cancer charity, which is the Ruch Foundation.

I believe we all have brief ideas how Penny Auctions or Pay-Per-Bid auction sites work. Commonly bids are purchased in advance and then used to bid on the merchandises. The price increases a few cents with each bid placed and a few seconds are added to the countdown clock to give others a chance to bid. The auction ends when no other bids are placed. So if a new laptop ends at just a dollar, then you win the laptop for a dollar!

Now, you could get yourself 15 additional bids when you use these codes until January 15th. :-
  • BBP1202A for Blog; and

  • BTP1202A for Twitter

*All you need to do is to enter the codes on the registration page. There is no obligation or cost of any kind. You can tell everyone about this great news.

Auction winners in Bidazzled usually save over 80% off the retail price. Even if you don't win, you could receive up to 50 Bonus Bids as a thank you for participating. In the first month, there were 2 winners of Nintendo Wii's who have won with just their 5 free bids! Unbelievable but it is real!

Bidazzled also has a lucrative Viral Referral program. Do check it out if you would like to know more about it!

eventually they never say NO to any 'makan-makan' invites...

this is a story about the difference between the current and past students of the koleq (mckk) boys. yes i know they loveeeeeeeeee food, and who doesn't right; but here's a something~

remembers peeps, the recent eid adha was during the spm exams. the school didn't allow any of the form 5 students to go back for the holidays. so puteri invited them to come to our house after the raya prayers. none of them came. it seems that they were... s-h-y(?!!!) *glurp*

when mama told this to my lil bro (batch '93, who is well known as boon since his koleq days) recently, he said: "EEEEE... malu². budak koleq never deny to any makan² invites!" hiks!

yes true. we have experienced them all, especially at my grandma's place here. from papa's younger years in koleq until my lil' bro, they always brought their koleq friends home. even when they wanted to take their spm results (my lil' bro time), they were quite a number of them overnight here. they slept everywhere i tell you! yes everywhere. no need ler for me to tell about this in details, just go and figure ler... and from what i know, when they were here... its always like home sweet home :)

christmas is just around the corner...

believe it or not people i have never attended any christmas party when i moved back here. so the 'christmas line dance party' in ipoh that i went with intan and mrs teh on last friday night, was kind of the first one for me since then. it was truly great and enjoyable. we really enjoyed ourselves sooooo much!

PC112950

you know people when i first started line dancing earlier this year, i didn't expect to have this kind of fun time at all. so as you could see now people its not that bad staying in this part of the globe. i have even been to line dance carnival in penang few weeks ago. i know i know i still owe the blog post that's in my draft folder mind you! so no sweat i will post about it no matter what~ better late than never huh?!! anyway i have made up my mind to try my very best to release all the blog post in the draft folder asap at least before the year ends... looks like i have to find some time for a self blogging marathon *phew*

alright, one thing's best about attending a costume or theme party is that i could dress-up as much as i could. and as the result, i brought home a hamper sponsored by yee hup for the best dressed title... woot! you could view me with the hamper pictured as the thumbnail of the party vid (later part of this blog post). on the other hand, if you have been a follower of my twitter, i am very sure that you have already known by now about this than anyone else from this tweet.

although some people may find that my costume was very simple— i just went for a bling bling red top with white skirt, and a pair of black boots, and not forgetting a small bling bling christmas hat! but i trust that if you follow the theme correctly, and with at least a bit of effort (take note that i did my hair myself!)... i am sure that you will get a big chance there. oh btw i have been dubbed as one of the santa's elves by an online american friend :))

PC112972

and another thing that i would like to point out~ this kind of party is a bit different than any other christmas party, as we got to meet some other line dancers and line danced together with them along all kind of musics like country, waltz, rock and roll, and what ever you name it... even hip hop! so don't get the interpretation wrong that line dance is for old people only. you are definitely wrong! make sure you watch our new found line dancing friend shan in the following video. he danced to fuego perfectly i tell you!

PC112959

and of course there's more of me in the video too thanks to more of our new found line dancing friends hamidah and her gang~

i could obviously say that the party would not be successful with the great organization by the organizer chris ng, who is also a line dance instructor in ipoh. thank you so much chris for the great party! we will surely come back next time...

holiday buying guide~

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dirt Devil. All opinions are 100% mine.

2009dirtdevilguide_250x250

Here in Malaysia, we are already entering the third week of year end school holidays. The time is radically moving fast. Megat's extra classes started even on the Saturday (first day) itself. The schedule has been arranged as such because Hari Raya Haji (Eid Adha) fell on the following Friday. Take note that Megat is schooling in a local Chinese primary school. He totally skipped the second week's classes, as he already followed his Wan Chik (auntie) back to KL on last Sunday. While as for me here, of course there's more stories to come soon.

I bet some of you are already shopping for gifts to give to your closed family, relatives and friends on this coming holiday. You might be looking for shopping outlets online and trying to see if you could extend your budget for gifts. In fact, you could. If you're only patient and diligent enough in finding the best deals online, you'll definitely find one. I can recommend one as I blog about it— Dirt Devil Holiday Buying Guide.

They have an amazing downloadable holiday buying guide filled with 100’s of tips and tricks to get more bang for your buck when shopping online. The guide includes over 300 websites, tricks and clever ways to shop online.

The site not only let you save for your grocery budget, it also helps you protect the environment because shopping online lets you save on gas. This one is one of the most important reasons why most people prefer online shopping over traditional in-store buying. Normally, all items for delivery have corresponding shipping fees. With Dirt Devil, you may take advantage of the Free Shipping Shortcuts *drooling*

"paragon of fashion"

i have been called as "paragon of fashion" by harjinder, a junior of my school. it started when i saw this on a canadian fb friend's status:

WANNA SEE WHO DOES THIS... Let's see how honest FB friends are. Leave a 1 word comment that you think best describes her. It can only be 1 word. No more than 1 word. Then copy & paste this post on your wall so she can leave a word about you. This should be interesting... Wonder if she has 20 brave friends who will do this~

so after i typed a word about heather, i copy and paste the above on my fb status. i was kinda eager too to see of what people would say about me. it was an honour for me though to find out that there are some people who secretly adore me for my fashion. i just dunno what to say but that's me! i guess harjinder could see it from our school days till now. basically i lurve to dress up according to the occasions, functions or events i am attending. i dunno about you, but for me i would definitely feel odd if i don't wear according to the theme...

like recently when i attended a chinese wedding, i wore cheongsam (i know i know i didn't blog about this YET)! guest were kinda impressed seeing me. even most of the chinese people themselves don't wear their traditional clothes during functions like that :(

PB142767

and i wonder if you could still remember about an indian wedding that i posted some time early this year. i chose to wear lehnga. ayuuuuu... you could read it here, plus more close-up pics of their wedding traditions.

Me, Myself & I

i also owned áo dài, a vietnam traditonal clothes that my dad bought it tailor-made for me during his vietnam trip many years ago.

besides lehnga, i have wore saree too at a company dinner some time ago. it was a bollywood theme. i chose to wear saree to create something different from other people. i wanted to show them that malay girls can wear saree too... then voila!

well, all the above pics were part of the other clothes that i wore apart from the normal baju kurung or kebaya. and now, i am in the mid of thinking of what to wear for a christmas line dance party that i am going to attend next week. any idea people? ;P

cafè world

CafeWorld

my oh my... i should have posted this last friday as mentioned in the earlier blog post; but never mind lor as long as i still remember lol...

so as you could see cafè world is one of zynga's most played online games nowadays. i wanted to share a couple tips in cafè world that i read about and trying that will work well for you and get you advanced thru the levels faster. instead of using a cheat that can make you banned, you should play with these simple cafè world tips and tricks to gain xp points and earn money fast:

CafeWorld

first thing is, i would make sure that i have as simple cafè as ever but its still looks nice and neat. i don't like fancy stuff much in my real life anyway. you could see in my two examples above and below of 6 november and tonight respectively.

see... i do not have much things in the cafè. i only go for simple items like ming chair to match my ciao table and ming timbers flooring. even my stoves are those of simple one too. these things don't cost much. and if you realized it my doors were actually free. the orange roses were gifts from 'neighbours'. like i said earlier, the most important thing is of how to reach the levels faster.

CafeWorld3

  1. setup your counters so your waiters will be blocked in (look at mine as an example), but make sure the cook can still reach them to place food on them from the stoves. what this does is save time for the food to be served. instead of waiting for waiters to walk around serving food and clearing dishes. they can magically do it all behind the counters if they can't get to the tables. and serving is so much faster, so customers won't walk out because they waited too long.

  2. don't let food get spoiled. i had to look this up and found out that food from your stoves will spoil after the same period of time it takes to cook them. plan what you want to cook and when you can be back to check on it and place them on the counters. for example, cooking cheeseburgers takes 5 minutes. if you let it set after its done, they will spoil 5 minutes after they finish cooking. the same goes for every dish.

  3. add more doors to get more costumers get in.

  4. how to close the cafè, so you can cook up lots of food to fill up your counters~ i love this one because i get annoyed trying to keep up getting food on the counters. and if customers don't get food, they walk out and you lose on your buzz rating. if i run out or get low, the trick is to click on the cogs and go into customize mode and move a chair in front of the door, or put the door back in inventory. in other words, don’t leave your cafè open with no dishes to serve. put the doors back when the dishes are ready. in this way, you will keep your buzz rating up.

  5. time pot roasts, chicken and other dishes that take a day or two to all finish at about the same approximate time that you know you can be around. that way you have 100's, if not thousands of servings ready to go.

  6. tables and chairs: try and keep up with as many available chairs and tables as you can fit for more customers. they need a place to sit and eat so you can make money. if they can't, they leave and your buzz rating goes down. i maybe bought a few too many, but at least i'm not running out of tables and having customers walk out.

  7. send gifts to your friends so you can get some back. visit your friends daily and leave tips for them so they would be glad to tip you too. besides that invite more people to be your neighbours on cafè world. the more neighbours you have, the more money you would get from the daily bonus.

i'll find more tips and share them. hope this helps.

knows our way online...

warning: this blog post is certainly not to bring down anyone or anything. but it is thoroughly meant to remind everyone of the consequences in their action online. so do think wisely before you do any sort of things~

mytalento.com

i was reading my twitter live feed earlier, when i clicked a link that was referring to local celebrities gossips by @amir_izwan just for the fun of it. and to my surprised, the website's favicon image is owned by SocialSpark!

blogging & law conference have said it all. although not everyone had the chance to attend it, but to steal other people's stuff are certainly not kewl...

so to whoever the site owner, its good that you replace it with other of your own asap. or worst come to worst don't use any for the time being until you create one of yours! where it will indicate your true identity... jmtc.

*more to come: my line dancing activities...

i am not into elaborating more about this. i feel that only He knows of who is right or wrong. but wth "udah nggak cinta" when you were actually trying to make used of people... blerk! don't ler try to create story-mory :P i heard many bad things about this lady and let it be ler... you and all your blo*dy indons, always wanna make us malaysians down. i don't want to place lotsa rubbish here in my lovely blog. go and ask mr google if you people wanna know more about her life.

of twitter @replies, mentions & RT...

seeing a tweet by a local twitter friend @SpicyGuy and a reply by @TheBackpackr (appendix 1; click on the pic for a larger view) earlier today, makes me wonder that maybe some twitterer still dunno much of how twitter works. you don't have to copy and paste the whole tweet and RT (retweet) it ler dude...

TwitterReplies1

appendix 1

all tweets containing @username are collected for you, accessible by a link in your sidebar (see appendix 2; number 1 in blue). click on your user name to see all replies made to you, and mentions of your user name.

replies and mentions must use the user name in order to appear in the original person's replies tab. all replies and mentions will appear excepting replies from people you've blocked.

please note:

✓ people will only see replies in their home time line if they are following both the sender and recipient of the update.

✓ people with protected accounts cannot send replies to people who aren't following them, and mentions won't be seen by non-followers either.

TwitterReplies2

appendix 2

so as you could see in my own example above (appendix 2), i clicked @Reply to @SpicyGuy instead of mentioning him. then i just tweet my reply. this way, @SpicyGuy's tweet can be seen under 'in reply to SpicyGuy' (number 1 in red). whilst when you scroll over there, you could see the direct link http://twitter.com/SpicyGuy/status/5254028410 (see number 2 in red).

and when you click number 1 in red, you will be brought to this page (appendix 3) where @SpicyGuy's tweet can be viewed individually:

TwitterReplies3

appendix 3

if you find this interesting enough, go here to learn more about this.

RT or retweet, essentially forwarding another person’s tweet (normally an interesting one) on to your twitter friends.

to link to a tweet, click below the tweet on the date/time it was tweeted. this will take you to an individual page with that tweet only. you can then shorten the link and post it in your tweets. otherwise you can just copy paste the tweet and add the prefix RT @whoever. go here to find out more about this.

charter on demand...

Ondemand

If you’re using Charter digital in the United States then you’ll surely love this post. Not many of you know but having Charter digital means that you also have Charter on Demand. And the thing is that you don’t have to pay extra for it because it’s free.

This means that you won’t have to check TV schedules to see the time of your favourite show or when your children’s favourite cartoon starts. Charter on Demand has 6,000 movies and shows to watch at any time you want. And if you’re a busy person and you just missed your show or movie you can easily watch it for free the day after and avoid the fuss or going to a rental to get the movie you missed or waiting for it to arrive in your mailbox.

This is also great for parents. Children probably don’t understand TV schedules or just don’t have the patience to wait for their favourite cartoon to come on and start screaming, crying and so on. With Charter on Demand you can easily do your chores while your children are on the TV enjoying their cartoons no matter what day or time it is.

You can learn more at charter.net/ondemand and you can also get updates and fun extras on Charter’s Facebook page.

shu la jin...

this blog post has actually been sitting in the draft folder for more than 3 weeks! *phew* and since its kinda an interesting one, i must say that its better i post this good information for everyone no matter what.

PA052364

shu la jin is a form of exercise that has been founded by madam chin sau ying. eventually i knew that my line dance group has been doing it almost everyday as a form of warming up before our line dance routine. i didn't join them anyway as i normally opt and prefer for a breeze walk up and down the resident's hill near my former secondary school. then only walked down to laman budaya to join them for line dancing.

i only became more aware of this kind of exercise when madam chin dropped-by recently to introduce and promote it to kualè people.

madam chin brought a lady who looked so healthy; that no one could ever imagined she used to be a stroke victim if she didn't tell us of her past story. she practiced shu la jin and look at her...

PA052365

they showed us some newspaper cut-outs written about the exercise.

rules and regulations of shu la jin exercise:
  1. only madam chin sau ying, being the founder and master of shu la jin, shall have the sole right to appoint her assistant instructors.

  2. appointed assistant instructors shall fully understand the objective of shu la jin.

  3. learner are expected to co-operate by helping each other to enjoy good health and love and to perform charity.

  4. learner shall not be selfish or greedy and shall instead devote themselves voluntarily to promote the exercise of shu la jin.

  5. learner shall seek permission from madam chin sau ying prior to carrying out any plans or activities concerning shu la jin.

  6. learner shall not conduct any private business or activities within the compound where shu la jin exercise is held.

  7. nobody is allowed to collect money in the name of shu la jin unless the collection is meant for charity donation and such collection is approved by madam chin sau ying.

PA052366

it was just so happened i brought my oly along that morning. more over i guess an introduction of this shu la jin exercise via a video that i managed to capture would be much helpful~

if you like this blog post and are interested to know more about shu la jin, do email me or leave your comment in the comment box; and i would be much glad to get my friend to pass madam chin's contacts to you.
