program nilam

i have just came back from my former primary school (also puteri's) *phew*

what did i do there, you asked? since i am the PTA's vice president, i have been invited to join them this morning during the school's weekly assembly, with the president; followed by this launching ceremony of "Program NILAM 2008" for the school. i am sure those you malaysian mothers with school-going kids know about this programme. if you dunno what is it all about, then i dunno what to say ;)

so basically its the country's level programme to encourage school children to read. just imagine people, according to the national library's survey, the ratio of locals who read books to-date are two (2) pieces only! thats certainly not something good to be heard :(

the programme at the school has been launched by en mohd suhaimi b. hj. zahir, ppt, pegawai teknologi pendidikan, pkg talang. read more about this programme here.

about my position as the PTA's vice president, i have been selected for the same position again for the second time (on last friday, for the financial year 2008/09). for those who dunno, previously it was for the year 2007--09.

o yes... some of you may wonder, since my former primary school sk datin khadijah is an all-girls school, why on earth there are some boys there in the pic right. well they are some students from the special kids classes. i was so glad to know that the school has about more than 10 classes now compared to two only (sometimes 1.5) during my time ;) they are so special, yet that i cried every time i saw them. in fact i think the teachers who teach them are indeed truly amazing too.

where else i will be at my former secondary school this afternoon for their PTA AGM :)

the time is gold

do i look mad in the pic people? ya sure... tell me people... who wouldn't get mad right, when someone whose being a guest of honour at a formal function, turned up late grr... tell you what people -- i feel so excited to attend a christmas cupcakes class at ICCA in section 14, pj, tomorrow morning, but i am still here! fyi i have registered for the course way months ago. thus i thought maybe i could come earlier, as i am quite free also now. too bad i only knew about this school function last week, during our PTA committee meeting. then i went arrgghhhhh..... anyhow since our president cannot be there (he's having a course in kl), i told myself, as a vice president of the school's PTA that i have to attend it no matter what. on the other hand, the HM told me that i have to deliver the opening speech instead... blek! :P

so i make the point to be at the school as early as possible. i even asked my dad to help me to fetch puteri for me. we were waiting for the guest of honour at the entrance when suddenly a teacher came to tell us that our guest of honour called that he was still in ipoh and asked us to carry on with the function first. i was like whispered to myself, "WTF!!! you knew that you were supposed to be the guest of honour, but you treat this like sh*t. my... you think you are meeting your friends?". i just smiled, but in my heart hmm... only He knows hehe...

the function started at 2.35 pm without the guest of honour. he only came about an hour later. i was more hangin when he came in an in proper dress code :P this makes me lazy to talk more about this guy. to add up to it, he greeted our PTA's president in his speech! wa lau ley... in the programme book already clearly stated there that i was the one whose gonna deliver the opening speech. thus its understood ler kan... or else ask ler if u dunno grr... that guy really didnt prepare anything before his appearance. i just don't think he has a good etiquette. why ler we have this kind of people in the world.

alright... what ever it is, i am glad that my opening speech (in malay) were delivered fine and okay ;) i was kinda nervous actually in the first place but alhamdulillah... everything turned out to be okay. i myself was surprised that i could do it. you know what people. i seldom do such thing i.e. standing at the rostrum (as per the above pic), deliver a speech in public. i have only became mc for some company's function. as you could see, for me, being an mc and delivering a speech in the public are two different important jobs. i think i love to be an mc more. besides that, i am more to behind the scene job. its okay ler... as long as things all under control hehe... amin.

owh... can't wait to be in kl tomorrow, to meet someone special in my life ;)

meeting very special kids

some of you may not know yet, that i am holding the position of vice president of pta of my former primary school. thus other than work commitment, i am also busy helping teachers to provide whatever the best for the school—i love my school so much. i do not like it to be left behind. so i was there this morning with the president, to give some support for standard six pupils. the school's pta organized a motivational programme for them.

i was walking at the corridor, to my 4wd. then i had been stopped by an indian girl. she called me cikgu (that's teacher in malay). from the way she talked and act, i understood that she is one of the special kids that is studying there. we continued chatting while walking. when we were about to reach the car-porch, another girl joined us. that malay girl is a special kids too. she looked at me and saw my blue butterfly ear-rings. "ehh... cantiknya (beautiful)", she said while touched it slowly. i dunno why, i felt so touched that i almost cry, but i tried to control myself. now both of the girls wanted to play with my fon. i told them nicely that its not something to be played. i asked them to stand together for me to take a pic of them instead. the malay girl asked me to give a copy of the pic to her (alright girl, insya allah i will give it to your teacher when i come back in about another two weeks or so). i kissed both of their cheeks before i go. i felt more touched when they smiled back at me.

aren't they adorable?

fyi, my former primary school now has about four or five co-add classes specially for special kids. during my time, it has only one class. they deserved to go to school to have good educations too.

more responsibilities

*burp* (sorry people)

hi there,

i have just came back from my lunch. my grandma cooked masak lemak siput sedut (snails in a spicy coconut gravy) for lunch today. oh its awesome auww...

i was not in yesterday- n5 task force general meeting for the financial year of 2006/07 at the ISO. the last part of the meeting was none other than selecting our new committee member. our good friend shaidi has been voted as our new president, while our new vice president is abang lan. guess whose the new secretary? hehe... its ME lor!!! looks like i have another responsibility to handle apart from my work and life. last march, i have been
voted without competing, as a vice president of the pta of puteri's school. well, whatever it is i will try my very best to complete all the task given to me. wish me luck people ;)

actually i was a bit late during the meeting yesterday as i got some errants to be settled back in the office. anyhow i did inform the former vice president, shaidi anyway. as soon as i stepped into the meeting room, i said sorry to our area manager (AM) for being late.

"its alright", he said.

i saw that they have arranged the meeting room in a different setting this time- meeting chairs scattered here and there.

"help yourself", continued AM. "o yea... before that ladies and gentleman, let's give a big round of applause to our heroin *tut*. congratulations, you were absolutely wonderful that night", said AM, while showed his hand, wanted to have a hand-shake with me. *phew* i thought what ler lol... so we did.

he was talking about the
staff award night 2005/06 that has been held in penang on 3 may 2006. i did a bollywood dance with a group of colleagues remember? but i still owe you all the pics. nana still hasn't email me. i have seen pics ready from my staff camera but the quality was not that good. i'll try and do something about it har. you all just need to be patience. well as what our AM said, our dance might gonna be the most talk event of the year! hahahaaa... in fact i was about to go off yesterday when a colleague kak ina stopped me. she told me that i dance very well that night (o yea?) and it seems that i look very beautiful and 'sebijik' (exactly) like one of those bollywood artist. i was laughing like hell when kak ina compliment me that way. she said that she was telling me the truth, right from the bottom of her heart auwww... btw we'll see ya...

kuE = 1!!!

arghhh... i am so exhausted- running up and down, here and there. its all because of the police' usual attitude. they like to call people for a last minute thingy. i really hate that. why they think i'm so free meh? grr...

earlier in the morning nizam called for a short discussion at shaidi's place at 11am. alright, fine. i told myself that i could go for a while but then i have to come back as early as possible as i need to attend 2006-2008' first pta committee meeting at puteri's school at 3pm.

the thing that makes me very 'bengang' today because sargeant tajuddin called me at 10.30am (i was already on the way to ipoh), asking me to be at the police station for a 'kawad cam' session at 3pm(?!!). asp nazri did the
same kind of attitude before. he (asp nazri) came about a week earlier before the date of the proceedings but only called me in the morning itself (?) to reconfirm. anyhow i told sargeant tajuddin about my appointment that was at 3pm also. some more he could ask me whether it was important for me to be at the school. wa lau ley... do you want me to speak in tamil (sargeant can speak mandarin lol) or what?!! lol.

when i was about to leave ipoh, i sms some of my friends asking for their opinions. as usual, some of my victims were included V,
leilanie, rose, abg ashraf etc- most of the feedback were same. i know for me, the school is more important than any other. but then the follow-up of the case is important too. its true of what rose said, i am just one, can't be in two places at one time ;)

i was still thinking about the best decision to make, during lunch. omg!!! please help me. at last i decided to go to the school. i went upstairs, switch-on my room air-cond, dragged my towel and off i went for a nice and cool shower. i reached the school about a few minutes before 3. we started the meeting as scheduled. i changed my fon to a silent mode. about 3.45pm, a policeman interrupted us at the meeting room, asking me to be at the police station. i was so damn mad. i told him that i could co-operate with them but i need to come back to the school asap.

so i drove as fast as i could to the police station. sargeant tajuddin introduced me to a police woman. she ushered me to a special room (hmm... don't even bothered to know what's the labelled on the room door). to tell you the truth, i was so damn gabra as soon as i stepped in the police station' compound. more panic when i went into the room. there were about 11 guys which one of them was the culprit already standing in a straight line, all facing infront. there were also about six or seven police' in the room too. i was asked to walk few times from one end to another. i was shocked when i reached at one of the guys. "oikk... he's here too?", i was asking myself upon looking at the proton edar's salesman. he smiled at me. "oii!!! mana boleh bercakap, pandang depan!", shouted a voice. i guess that must be from one of the policeman. i was more scared. it took me about 10-15 minutes or so. i was supposed to place my hand on the culprit's shoulder but i was really scared i tell you. one of the policeman told me that i could point to the guy if i want. i did by pointing my right thumb to the last guy on my left. the guy was big size, like a commando with moustache. but then i heard another policeman said i still have to place my hand on the shoulder because the camera man need to take some pictures grr... i faced infront (i was still scared of course). as soon as he finished, i walked off from there and told the police woman that i have to go. sargeant tajuddin reminded me to come back after my meeting :(

i went back to the police station after 6pm. i saw sargeant tajuddin as promised. he took my statement by asking a few questions, printed it out and asked me to sign it. luckily his office is with air-condition. we finished before maghrib.

omg!!! who? me? :D

i have just came back from the annual general meeting 2006-2008 of the pta of puteri's school about an hour ago. i am a mother that would be so kay-poh if anything turned wrong or not. most of the teachers and students of the school know me already. i just sat quietly through out the function blah blah blah... when suddenly i heard a familiar voice from the back called for my name. that was one of the puteri's female teacher'. i did not turn around AT ALL.

"oh my god, why me?!!", i told my self.

"cadangan lain (anymore names) ?", asked the chairman.

"saya mencadangkan supaya cadangan ditutup (i suggest that we closed the proposal) ", replied another teacher.

i was puzzled, "WHAT?!!!". everyone agreed.

so then the chairman said, "baiklah. *tut* (my full name with the correct salutation) telah dilantik sebagai naib yang dipertua pibg bagi sessi 2006-2008. tahniah *tut* (... has been selected as the vice president of the pta for 2006-2008 session. congratulations.) ". i just smiled. that means i still have jobs here in the school until 2008 where puteri will be in form two (14 years old).

then the chairman called for all the new committee members to sit infront at the long table provided. starting from there, i was talking here and there non-stop :)
