sneak peek: 'estet' premiere screening

wow... it has been like almost 2 weeks hor? i didn't blog huhuu... well if you follow my twitter you would know of how busy i was for the past weeks~ there were quite a number of events that i attended; and that will be carried on this week too. so now already november, i have told myself that i will make sure to complete all the pending blog post asap...

so as you could see we were in sitiawan on saturday for 'estet' premiere screening. i could rather say a long blog post will be coming out soon. at the meantime i just can't wait to show you people this~

my show & tell of "estet" video clips & book launching...

it was a simple, fun and great event indeed. no doubt about it. so i thought its best to get on with a show and tell...

upon guest arrival, we were greeted by these 2 pieces indian music instrumental... i am so in lurve with it, sooooo soothing and relaxing. click on the pic to watch the video of it that i recorded.

so while i was waiting for my blogger friend to join me, i snapped here and there as usual...

and finally here's my guest, ayuuuuu!!!

the guy on white behind ayu is a poet i think, but i can't seems to be remembered his name ler plak... ayuuuuu!!!... oh you know why i shouted for ayu. that's because she's very good in spotting celebrities in a split second; oh my... i.e. we were chatting then suddenly she was like, "awie!" then not too long after that, "eizlan yusuf!". wahhh... mak oiii... ;~)

p/s tu ler, the other day when i asked in my fb/twitter of who wanna follow me to istana budaya; no one seems to be interested! haa... so i guess it was definitely ayu's day. sampai sanggup anto i balik to my place after that i tell you... :~)

"estet" book has been officially launched in a simple event...

abang mamat presented his speech

launching of the movie's video clips. both of the video clips entitled 'ayuh kawan' and 'cahaya kemenangan' will be aired on tv soon. so they hope that by the time the movie will be screened at the cinemas in december, movie goers could sing along to the tunes in the cinema too! oh btw that's awie in red cap.

then they introduced us to all the cast starting with awie. dah macam in a classroom plak when they had to stand up once they were being called hehee...

SM was so lucky that day to win the lucky draw's grand prize of nikon coolpix s230 digital camera. he was so lucky ler... abang mamat was just teasing him, tup tup its SM' number that came up! lol...

i am so tensed with the broadband speed here rather than my place back in kualè aiyooo!!!... somebody purrrleaseeeee...

alright. mamat khalid himself invited me to this event yesterday~ launching of video clips and book of his up and coming movie "estet". thank you so much abang mamat. and i think there's many more to come kan kan...

so i thought i will leave you people with this video of a live indian music instrumental first; while i get on with the uploading of pics and whats not correctly. deepavali is coming soon anyway. btw fyi i recorded this video while i was waiting for a blogger friend to join me. so wait for my next blog entry for you to find out more on this. you know... a true blogger always need some pics along with his/her blog post to make it more presentable. so at the meantime, do enjoy the music as much as i do! i find it sooooo soothing and relax...

we came back around 1.30am. although it was late but we had fun with the cast and crew of 'estet' (malay word for estate). its not just an ordinary invitation o-k-? but one of the crew came to the house earlier of the day to menyampaikan utusan from tuan pengarah (deliver a message from the director) hah! to invite us to join them for their farewell bbq dinner at resort safari sungai perak. owh... i know that life is definitely not fair for some. anyhow we felt honor in some ways.

it was their last night in kuale. finally they completed the film shooting after staying here for about 32+ days. according to them, they will be coming back during the ramadhan insya allah for another film called zombi kilang biskut (biscuit factory' zombie) ;) i can't tell you people what's this about, cuz i didn't watch the previous one myself *glurp* :/

back to last night, i was kinda excited liao to be in the circle of film people. i guess not like my lil' bro as he's already used to it. they are all very kind. i could see that they are very committed with their work-- even though we were having the dinner, part of the crew were still finishing the last part of their work at the location set i.e. for the film montage. and when they are at play, they really had fun with each other.

well i think that's it for now... enough of 'estet' for the the time being... let's just wait for the movie to be screened maybe in february next year.

o yes... farid kamil is rather sooooo damn tall i tell you... that i have to look up when i spoke to him! but he adjusted his posture when we took a pic together (ref above) so that he won't look so tall lol... clever huh?!!! go here to view more pics ;) too bad rosyam nor and david arumugam already went back cuz they got some other errands to do.

to some people, our home is already well known and famous to local film makers *glurp* . whole day shooting was done on the very same day that i went to kl for nuffnang's wild "live" blogging.

so i dunno much of what exactly happening on that day. from what i know, part of our house has became like an indian estate manager's bungalow lol... anyhow i have also been told that many funny thingy did happen around the house/behind the scene. besides they were shooting a funny/comedy film anyway. it seems mamat khalid played the piano and singing at the same time too!

mother served the extra cupcakes from this order to mamat khalid and his family, who were here also. according to mother, they love my cupcakes so much that mamat quickly spooned some of his wife', after he finished his-- " hmm... selalunya i tak makan cream-cream ni semua, tapi yang ni best lagi dari alice* (ipoh) [translation: normally i don't eat frosting, but this one is better than alice* (ipoh) ]". his wife already asked mother whether i accept orders for raya... duh! ;)

now you know of why i was so kecoh about 'estet' ya? alright lor people... mother and i are going out for a dinner invitation here in kuale shortly. i'll take great pics if i can hehee... and blog about it here of course :P

cinta manis

"cinta manis" is a malay word for sweet love. there's in fact an estate in sungai siput called estet (estate) cinta manis. because of this, a local film maker mamat khalid is in the mid of making a movie revolved around an estate life, which has most indians and malays living side by side hmm... i have been there! hehe...

what i mean is we (my siblings and i) were raised in estates, like in gurun, kulim, simpang renggam, kluang, klang etc. where our father worked there as an estate manager. the estate workers would called father "tuan", and "mam" for mother. they (the workers) were so obliged with their tuan until if ever their tuan suddenly walked or drove by them when they were smoking, they would quickly squashed the cigarette or cigar (take note that the light was still on when they were doing this) in their hand and bow. i wonder if its still the same these days.

i am sure some of you people will say of "why ler kuE so kecoh-kecoh want with all this thingy" hehe... well besides that almost 100% of the location venue is in kuale, there's more of why i am so kecoh one. you wait and see arr... so make sure you people watch the movie ya... it will be screened in february next year :) support the local movies!

In the spirit of community, the cast of Estet promise lots of laughs, songs and dances.

Lots of singing and dancing, and harmonial living. All these in a rubber estate where every home flies the Malaysian flag. RADIN SRI GHAZALI writes of the upcoming feel-good movie, Estet.

Mamat is set to release Estet, a film based on the multiracial background of a rubber estate.

YET another bold move in the local film industry is being taken by writer-cum-director Mamat Khalid.

Known for his quirky and witty storylines, Mamat is currently filming his latest movie, Estet.

The director of the 2006 cult hit Zombie Kampung Pisang, this time portrays the patriotism and racial integration in a small rubber estate community.

Mamat said there was a sound reason for picking a rubber estate as the backdrop for his movie.
“Estate society is seldom shown on film. They have a strong cultural identity still untouched by Western influence,” he said in a recent phone interview from Kuala Kangsar, where the film was being shot.

“I was surprised to find a Malaysian flag in almost every house in this estate (in Kuala Kangsar). This is unheard of anywhere else,” he said. read more here.
